207 reviews
A place for intangible cultural heritage experiences with daily games. Hundreds of acres of streets and alleys hide endless excitement, while 40,000 square meters of space hold countless surprises. Since its opening in 2022 with an under-construction charm, Zhouzhi Water Street Fireworks Alley has become a "hidden gem" in travelers' hearts: during the 2023 Spring Festival and May Day holidays, it welcomed 200,000 travelers daily, with annual visits exceeding 10 million. Billions of clicks online have amplified its reputation as the "northern Kuanzhai Alley, an ancient town that never sleeps." By July 2025, the upgraded Fireworks Alley will further etch the essence of "fun" into every brick. Intangible cultural heritage living theater: Step into a thousand-year-old story The attraction invited top-tier domestic director teams to create three outdoor live-action performances and seven indoor immersive theaters exclusively for Zhouzhi Water Street Fireworks Alley. Rooted in intangible cultural heritage and featuring situational performances, it offers high-quality immersive theatrical experiences. Ten open-air mini stages in the park host full-day free performances. Grab a cup of hot tea and enjoy nationwide intangible cultural heritage shows from morning till night, from witty clapper talk and crosstalk to breathtaking folk arts, immersing you at every turn. The street shops dazzle with diverse offerings—pick up any cultural souvenir, and you'll carry the warmth of intangible heritage in your bag. Players' world: The entire alley is your playground Over a hundred NPCs roam the streets with tasks, where handing over a silver note gets you an adventure token — want to test your stamina? Take on the obstacle course; love using your brain? Head to the fortune workshop to crack treasure maps; feeling lucky? Use silver notes to redeem surprise gifts from treasure vault blind boxes. From dawn till dusk, there are no "spectators" in the "Player's world": team up to unlock hidden storylines, chase NPCs for interactive games, or dominate the park with silver notes. Here, you can play to your heart's content, earn happily, and redeem unique cultural creations or limited-edition gifts. After all, the real thrill lies in the joy that's "playable, profitable, and portable." Whether you seek tranquility in intangible cultural heritage or want to go wild in games; whether you're a silver-haired senior or a bouncing child; whether you prefer the depth of traditional culture or are obsessed with the fun of interactive games — Zhouzhi Water Street Fireworks Alley will send you away with your heart full of satisfaction.Zhouzhi · 13.6 km from Wugong

The Qinling Mausoleum was constructed in the year 684 and is one of the rare places in China - or even the world - where emperors from two dynasties and an imperial husband and wife are interred. Emperor Gaozong of Tang (Li Zhi) and his wife Wu Zetian, China's only empress, are interred here. This mausoleum is also one of the few imperial tombs in China that has not been looted. The Qinling Mausoleum Scenic Area is quite large. In addition to the Qinling Mausoleum itself, it also contains many “companion tombs” (peizangmu) in which members of the imperial court and major ministers are buried. The tombs of Prince Zhanghuai, Crown Prince Yide, and Princess Yongtai are currently being excavated.Qian County · 34.4 km from Wugong

The Mount Taibai National Forest Park

7.1
4.5/5
3.8k reviews
The Mount Taibai National Forest Park is located on the northern slope of Mount Taibai, the main peak of the Qinling Mountains. Within the park, Baxian Terrace stands at an elevation of over 3,700 m, towering above all other peaks in the Qinling range. The dramatic vertical drop creates distinct layers of vegetation and climate zones as altitude increases—while the plains below swelter in midsummer heat, higher elevations bring a penetrating chill. In ancient times, the frigid summit retained snow even in June, earning "Taibai snow in June" a place among the eight scenic views of Guanzhong. Though snow in June is now rare, the alpine region still preserves Quaternary glacial relics such as cirque lakes and stone seas, offering a rare view of high-altitude landforms. Most 1-day tours turn back at "Sky circle earth square," which sits at an elevation of over 3,500 m on the main ridge of the Qinling Mountains—the watershed dividing China's north and south. Streams north of the ridge flow into the Yellow river, while those south feed the Yangtze river. On clear days, you can overlook rolling seas of clouds. The true summit ascent to Baxian Terrace begins here. A standard hiking itinerary to the peak takes approx. two days, starting from Sky circle earth square, passing Xiaowengong Temple and Dawengong Temple to reach the alpine cirque lake Daye Hai, then making the final push to the summit, with an overnight stay at Xiaowengong Temple. The Mount Taibai National Forest Park's remote areas feature complex terrain and wildlife including large predators. Whether traveling by vehicle, cable car, or on foot, always stay on developed routes and avoid venturing off main paths. The first day of the seventh lunar month is the traditional temple fair of The Mount Taibai National Forest Park, when crowds of visitors flock to the mountain, creating a lively atmosphere and offering a great opportunity to experience mountain folk customs.Mei County · 38.8 km from Wugong

Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, also known as the Terracotta Army, is located about 1.5 kilometers east of the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor and forms part of the extensive necropolis. There were more than a thousand terracotta soldiers unearthed here, each with a different facial expression. Standing before the massive underground army, you will feel the extraordinary might of the Qin Emperor that enabled him to unify six warring states two thousand years ago. The Qin Emperor Ying Zheng began building the mausoleum for himself at the age of 13. Nearly 720000 men and 38 years were required to complete this vast project.China · Xi'an

Xi'an City Wall is a landmark of this ancient city. The city walls that we see now were built in the early years of the Ming dynasty and they are now more than 600 years old. The walls were built on the foundations of the imperial city of the Tang Dynasty and they are formed together with a series of defensive installments such as moats and turrets. At present, Xi'an City Wall can be accessed by many city gates. Visitors can choose the nearest one to them. The South Gate is the visitor entrance of Xi'an City and is also the city gate with more tourists. Cycling on the ancient walls is a good experience. Riding on the wall overlooking the ancient capital of the thirteenth dynasty, you will have a feeling of travelling through time.Xi'an · 68.6 km from Wugong

Xi'an Museum

Xi'an Museum is a modern comprehensive museum built upon the cultural relic protection site—the ruins of the Tang Dynasty Jianfu Temple and its iconic structure, the Small Wild Goose Pagoda. It integrates cultural relic collection and protection, academic research, exhibition and display, social education, and garden leisure. Its core area is the location of the original Tang Dynasty royal temple, Jianfu Temple, while the precious and striking historical relic existing within the temple—the Small Wild Goose Pagoda—has become the museum's unique landmark and soul. Therefore, the Jianfu Temple ruins and the Small Wild Goose Pagoda are not only the foundation and core carrier for the establishment of Xi'an Museum, but also important outdoor historical exhibition areas and focal points for visitors. The main building of the museum is located on the north side of the ancient temple ruins. The three elements (ancient temple ruins, ancient pagoda, and modern museum building) are organically integrated, jointly forming a unique cultural space that combines "museum, pagoda, temple, and garden," vividly showcasing the historical context of Xi'an from ancient times to the present. Xi'an Museum officially opened to the public on May 18, 2007. Its establishment aims to comprehensively showcase the glorious history and splendid culture of Xi'an (ancient Chang'an) as the capital of thirteen dynasties, filling the gap of a comprehensive museum of Xi'an's urban history. Collection highlights: The museum houses over 100,000 precious cultural relics from various historical periods of Xi'an. The collection spans from prehistoric times to the Ming and Qing dynasties, with particular emphasis on artifacts from the prosperous dynasties of Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang, including bronze ware, jade articles, gold and silverware, ceramics, murals, stone steles, epitaphs, and Buddhist statues, systematically reflecting the political, economic, cultural, social life, and foreign exchanges of the ancient capital Chang'an. Main exhibition: The permanent exhibition "Ancient capital Xi'an" takes the urban development history of Xi'an as the main thread, showcasing the evolution and achievements of Xi'an as a capital (Zhou Fenghao, Qin Xianyang, Han Chang'an, Sui-Tang Chang'an) and a prefectural city (Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties) through a large number of precious cultural relics, models, charts, and multimedia means. Unique environment: The museum's greatest feature lies in its surroundings. Travelers can not only visit modern exhibition halls but also stroll through the expansive heritage park encompassing the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, the ancient architectural complex of Jianfu Temple (including structures like the Ming dynasty bell tower housing a Jin dynasty ancient bell), an ancient stone sculpture art exhibition area, and garden views—experiencing the charm of the millennia-old capital at its historical site. The view of "morning bells at the Wild Goose Pagoda" is particularly renowned. Functional positioning: The museum is not only an important center for cultural relic collection, research, and display, but also an urban cultural park where citizens can relax, entertain, and immerse themselves in history and culture, undertaking significant social education and cultural exchange functions.Xi'an · 68.2 km from Wugong

Grand Tang Mall

4.5/5
2.3k reviews
Grand Tang Mall is a large-scale Tang-style architectural pedestrian street in Xi'an's Qujiang New District, built around the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda. It stretches from the Xuanzang Square at the foot of the pagoda in the north to the Tang City Wall Ruins Park in the south, connected by a approx. 1500 m central axis view boulevard running north-south. The boulevard itself resembles an open-air sculpture gallery, featuring themed sculptures arranged sequentially from north to south: Buddhist culture of the Tang Dynasty, Tang heroes, the Zhenguan era governance, Empress Wu's procession, and the Kaiyuan heyday. Statues of eminent monks like Xuanzang and Jianzhen stand at the front, followed by Tang luminaries such as Li Bai, Wu Daozi, Sun Simiao, and Lu Yu in the middle section, with ceremonial processions of Emperor Taizong, Empress Wu Zetian, and Emperor Xuanzong concluding the display. Walking through this boulevard is akin to reading a three-dimensional history of the Tang Dynasty. The block connects three themed squares from north to south—Xuanzang square, Zhenguan square and Kaiyuan square—with Tang-style pavilions lining both sides. Among them are four cultural venues: Xi'an concert hall, Shaanxi grand theater, Xi'an art museum and Qujiang cinema. Enjoying concerts, visiting exhibitions and shopping for photos can all be arranged along the same route. By day, admire the architecture and sculptures, but the real highlight of this street comes after nightfall—when the lights come on, the Tang-style pavilions glow with radiant colors, and the entire street seems to recreate the splendor of the Tang Dynasty. The area features year-round immersive street performances: a "Tumbler Girl" in Tang attire leans in to hold hands with travelers as she spins; Fang Xuanling and Du Ruhui from the "Secret Box of the Tang Dynasty" appear, posing riddles and bantering, with clever answers from selected travelers drawing cheers from the crowd; Hu Xuan dances and Tang-era music performances compete in a colorful parade; and actors dressed as the "Poet Immortal" may challenge you to a verse duel at any moment—strolling around, you might stumble upon a performance. This place gathers trending attractions, highlighting dazzling colors, fantasy, and a tech vibe. Through large-scale installations, it creates a stylish and dynamic interactive experience center, offering a sought-after photo spot for trendy young crowds. In the family-friendly tech zone, scene-based displays and hands-on actions spark children's imagination and creativity, combining play with skill development and experiential gains—making it an ideal destination for family-friendly fun.Xi'an · 70.4 km from Wugong

The outdoor green gardens are worth a leisurely stroll. They offer shade and are a great place for family outings. "Xi'an Museum" usually refers to the Xi'an Museum itself. It's not a single exhibition hall, but a complex comprising a museum, the ruins of the Tang Dynasty Jianfu Temple, and the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, a World Heritage Site. This integrated layout of "museum, pagoda, temple, and garden" is relatively rare in China. Those who enjoy the outdoors are definitely recommended to take a walk around and explore.
