Higashidate ski resorts are still preserved, allowing skiers to ski along the original competition routes. The charm of this area extends beyond winter. Volcanic activity has created dozens of lakes and wetlands, such as Onuma Pond and Shijuhachi Pond, surrounded by vast areas of primeval forest. The highland is home to wild animals such as Japanese macaques and Japanese serows. The area also features many natural hot springs, and relaxing in a hot spring after skiing or hiking is a classic experience here.

Really loved the slopes and how huge the mountain range is. You can cross over to different mountains with the all mountain pass. The runs are good and the variety of runs are great of you do use the all mountain pass or shuttle bus to get to different ski fields. The only down side for me was the lack of night life compared to say Niseko and also food options are relatively limited. it's a great place skiing or snowboarding wise especially for beginner and intermediate level folks. I am not at the advance level so that's the only reason why I limited my review to those two levels. I'd recommend this place to my friends!

It is such a great pleasure to ski here and stay in T hotel's Yunhai suite! The hotel is new and beautiful, the staff are smiling and polite! Delicious breakfast and dinner!

It's a very fun place and worth a visit. I went there with my family during Christmas in the winter of 2024. The snow scenery was beautiful, and I saw the legendary cute monkeys soaking in hot springs in the snow-capped mountains!
