Zhaotong Ancient City
Zhaotong Ancient City is one of the better-preserved old towns from the Qing Dynasty in northeastern Yunnan. It is an important part of the local historical district and an area where local history and culture are well-preserved. Dou Street is built on a slope, with Chinese-Western style arcade buildings standing on both sides of the slate-paved road, serving as the starting point for many visitors. The names of streets and alleys like Huaiyuan Street, Tiaoshui Lane, and Maohuo Street still retain the traces of the era of horse caravans and markets. After restoration, some streets and alleys still maintain their traditional scale and architectural style, where you can see wooden structures, brick-and-wood structures, and residential buildings with local characteristics. Dianchi Lake

The core area of Zhaotong Ancient City is 2.97 square kilometers centered on Yuanmenkou, which is the urban area before 1985. There are four gates in Zhaotong Ancient City: Fuzhen Gate in the east, Jining Gate in the south, Jichuan Gate in the west, and Quma Gate in the north.

Wude Tiankeng in Zhenxiong County, Yunnan, is a pure natural landscape and a wonder of nature. Compared with other tiankengs in China, it has its own merits, not in depth, but in breadth and natural landscape inside the tiankeng. Because it is located in the Wumeng Mountain area of Yunnan and Guizhou, transportation is inconvenient. With a little development and promotion, it can be a famous scenic spot. The most interesting thing is that there are still residents living inside, just like the Jueqing Valley in martial arts novels, living a paradise life, lush and green, chickens, dogs, geese and ducks, full of life. There are also pure natural karst landforms inside, with huge stalactites and ingenious craftsmanship, which is worth a visit.

Long Yun was the King of Yunnan during the Republic of China period. He rose from his home in Zhaotong. The ancestral hall was built in the 1920s on a large scale. After the restoration, although it is imposing, it looks like a new city and has lost its traditional cultural style.

Location: Haigeng Park/No. 16 Hubin Road ↔ Xishan Longmen (West Mountain Dragon Gate), not near the old street, you have to go to the Dianchi Lake area.
Experience: Crossing the lake + climbing the mountain, about 20 minutes one way, views of Dianchi Lake, Sleeping Beauty Mountain, and city scenery, great for taking photos.
Ticket Price: One way about 59-60 RMB, round trip about 98-100 RMB.
Advantages: Easy for lazy people to climb West Mountain, no climbing required, unique views; seagulls in winter.
Disadvantages: Stops during strong winds/thunderstorms; long queues during peak season; separate ticket/walking required for Longmen after climbing the mountain; don't confuse with the "Xishan Longmen Cableway".
Conclusion: First time in Kunming, taking the Dianchi-Xishan route → worth it; if just exploring the old street → not worth a special trip.

This is a garden city park located in Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province. There are tall trees and many pavilions in the park. The most famous one is a pavilion built in the middle of the pool called Qingguan Pavilion. The gate of the park is very beautiful, and many citizens come here to relax and exercise.
