Things to do in Zizhong

Zhonglong Mountain in Zizhong is located near Zhuangyuan Street. You can reach it by walking a few hundred meters uphill. Zhonglong Mountain is 397 meters above sea level. The main attractions include Yongqing Temple, Zhonglong Pavilion, Junzi Spring and Gubei Bank. Junzi Spring is one of the eight scenic spots in ancient Zizhong. It was really nice experience. Recommended to arrive early since there are lot of tourists and pandas are active mostly in the morning.

It's very suitable for younger children; it's quite large, and we didn't get to see all the attractions because our kids were too young. The only downside was the food – it was terrible. A simple cone ice cream cost 16 yuan (and was extremely sweet). Personally, I didn't think it was a good place to eat; the other attractions were fine.

I visited the dinosaur museum once during my elementary school graduation trip. I was young then, but it left a deep impression on me. Now that I'm working and have a family, I decided to come back. The renovation and upgrades have greatly improved the experience. Technology has made a huge difference; the introduction to dinosaur history and the videos make the information more intuitive, three-dimensional, and easy to understand and remember. The new cultural and creative products are also very stylish. I bought hand towels and a lumbar support, which are both practical and meaningful souvenirs—great!

"Qingcheng Mountain, the most secluded place under heaven," truly lives up to its name and is well worth a visit. On the front mountain, explore the ancient sites and rich Taoist culture. Ancient trees reach for the sky, and red-walled Taoist temples are nestled among the dense forest, creating a strong atmosphere. Cable cars and boats are available, making the route relatively easy. On the back mountain, seek tranquility and enjoy the pristine natural scenery. The path is lined with streams, waterfalls, and boardwalks, with lush vegetation and abundant negative ions, offering a variety of routes.

First things first: if you enjoy journaling or collecting stamps, definitely bring your journal with you, there's many to collect ! I think it's best to try visit on a misty day, that's where the magic truly comes out. It's okay on a sunny day as well, but make sure to go at a time or day where not as many visitors are crowding the place. The scenery is great and i wish they had translations or meanings of the poems/drawings next to them, i truly wanted to understand. Unfortunately translators are no help with poems.

The Sanxingdui Museum is definitely worth a visit! It's very convenient to get there by high-speed rail, with direct connections to Shuangliu Airport and Huanglong and Jiuzhaigou. The guide, Lin Shanshan, gave a wonderful three-hour tour; her explanations were professional, detailed, and engaging. Thank you for your hard work!
