Scout Inn

They stayed at this hotel for the night. They arrived here in the afternoon from the island of Redanga and flew to Kuala Lumpur at 9am the next day. Hotel pluses : 15min walk to the airport (if you don't plan to go to the city, only for a night stay, then save 30MR by taxi to the city). Near the sea, we weren't, but read that a good beach, you can swim. Not taking a deposit. Low price for accommodation. Not bad area of the hotel. And further minusciki. The hotel consists of 2-story two-story buildings. We took the standard number (to get on the first floor and it's bad, I'll write why). The room itself is normal, the room is clean, costs 2 beds one bed, a table, a TV, a teapot (no coffee-tea),2 bottles of water. What didn't like in the room: doubtful that was clean underwear on the beds, didn't look fresh. A terrible hard pillows (I couldn't sleep at night, eventually cleaned at all). Air conditioner opposite the beds and blowing in the face, but you will turn off – dusty. Not a pleasant smell in the room. There is no fan, safe, refrigerator, towel only one bath per room. In the bathroom is increasingly – showers with hot water, there is soap, shampoo. Comparatively clean. I didn't like breakfast starts from 7 a.m. This is late for a transit hotel. The plane was before CL at 9 a.m., did not risk and remained without included in the booking of breakfast. It is possible to eat near the hotel we do not know, on the day of settlement, called a taxi and left to the city to the Crystal Mosque, there had lunch, and had dinner in the city center in the shopping mall, not far from the bus station. But the worst thing, in this hotel is that the hotel is located on the territory of a kindergarten or for a time when local children (from 8-12let) come here as in a kindergarten. We are not against children (the children themselves). But for people who want to rest and sleep in this hotel it won't work. At least we're not lucky. The corpse is 2nd floor, our standard room is 1st floor. Children were up to 23:00 whether they were studying, whether they were preparing for something in the acting hall, and after classes on the 2nd floor above us the hours before 2nd night jumped, loudly chatted, moved chairs, cheered all over. In the morning, no light did not rise and went to classes or breakfast. Shorter night I didn't sleep at all: without a pillow, a air conditioner blowing in the face, the children mad over the head. The purpose of stopping at this hotel was to sleep before two long flights the next day. But I was more tired than rested. Personally we will no longer stay in this hotel, although the price at the hotel is funny. The disadvantages overweight the pluses.
Ming Paragon Hotel
4.2/5129 Reviews
My partner had chosen Ming Paragon as our home for 3 nights in Kuala Terengganu as it was centrally located & close to many places of interest. It proved to be a good decision as much research had taken place prior to our holiday. Our flight had arrived in mid-morning. But since check-in was at 2:00 pm, we had brunch first & visited 2 places of interest to kill time. We arrived at the hotel just before 2:00 pm & parked the car in front of Ming Paragon as we were not aware that the hotel’s parking was behind the building. We had also used a parking app to pay for the street parking. Check-in was fast & hassle-free. There was no porter or concierge service as this is a 3-star hotel. We carried our luggage ourselves. Our room was on the 1st floor. It was smaller than I expected. However, it was decent & clean. The mattress was not as comfortable but the strategic location more than made up for it. The air-conditioning was good & at least there was floor space for us to pray. The bathroom was a good size. The water pressure was equally good. Best of all, it was equipped with a hand-bidet. That was a pleasant surprise as it was a Chinese hotel to begin with & I half expected it not to have one. The shower gel, shampoo & conditioner smelled good too. A hair-dryer was also available. WiFi was available & complimentary. However, the TV reception wasn’t good. There was much interference. Since we were mostly outdoors, it didn’t bother us so much. Although there was no refrigerator, there was a coffee & tea-making facility. A central fridge was available in the lobby. Hence, we had left our food in their chiller. We had parked at the hotel’s designated parking in the evening. A security guard watches over our car free of charge as it was complimentary for hotel guests. We will definitely stay again whenever we are in Terengganu as Ming Paragon Hotel had met our expectations.

The Barat Perhentian

Everything is relative. For perhentian, barat is one of the cleaner hotels around. But for the price I paid during super peak season, one would expect cleaner services. I waited hours for the room to be ready, which I can understand as the night before was fully booked and I arrived before the official check in time. However, when I was finally able to check into my room,, the shampoo packet from the previous guest wasn't picked up and the drain hole still had hair. Towels were also damp. Once we got over this initial disappointment, I was quite happy for the rest of my time there. Room was well equipped with a kettle, hair dryer, fan and super cool air conditioning, the latter was crucial to alleviate the record heat we are experiencing. Location was superb as well. You can go snorkeling at the beach outside the neighboring hotel, where you can see baby sharks hanging around the rocks. I was assured by the staff that momma shark don't hunt there. I guess they are right since I lived to write this review. Those a little braver can swim out to turtle point (life jacket recommended). Every morning, loads of boats arrive here to drop off eager snorkelers hoping to catch a glimpse of turtles. It's nice to have the option to go anytime at your leisure, staying at barat hotel nearby.
Ulek Beach Resort

Pros: 1) Booking, Enquiries Check-in/out staff The staffs handling the booking, enquiries and check in/check out was very good. Had a pleasant experience dealing with them. 2) Room Room was clean and comfortable. Just a suggestion for improvement - time to upgrade the beddings and mattresses. The Jacuzzi did not work but the hot water worked wonderfully. At night and early morning, there were many black ants roaming on the floor and wall of the bathroom. But they did not disturb us. We had no problem tolerating and accepting the presence of the ants due the fact that the resort is located in kampung area. We are the guests and they are the landlords. However, if the resort can do something about pest control - it would be much better. Cons: Breakfast I have to say its our worst hotel breakfast experience. We are not fussy eaters but the management definitely could do better. The selection was so minimal. The roti canai looks so uninviting. The eggs, and other foods look sad as well. I personally had no appetite to eat just by staring at the foods offered. Hopefully the management can improve on this aspect. Maybe can just get the supply of breakfast from the best local Dungun nasi lemak from warung makcik tepi jalan or roti canai from warung pakcik would do. Come on the management, you can do this. Improvement is important. I want the resort to sustain.
THE PAYANG HOTEL

Kampung China
Booking bilik superior king room 3d 2n (no window). Tapi boleh request nak katil king/twins single. I request 2 single bed tpi yg ni dapat yg ada window (mengadap ke depan) . Love the aesthetically design/style but cannot with their shower soap/shampoo. Can smell good and bad at the same time. Kadang ii bau okay herbs ii star anise. Kadang ii bila buka part toilet tu bau mcm public toilet dkt rnr. Cadar/blacket ada coklat mark gitu. Maybe tk hilang walaupun dh basuh. Nth la. Tak selesa nak solat very sempit ruang untuk solat sebelah singki hijau tu ha. Mula ii dpt bilik 209 pastu 4pg mcmtu staff bg tukar bilik 210 sbb aircond tkjdi kt bilik 209. Sampai berpeluh peluh tidur malam sbb dia auto. Kita tkleh adjust temp. Lastly, room tiles. Tengoklah sendiri. Tbh not recommended for u to go with friends ke sape ii sbb bilik air tu boleh nampak dri luar kau mandi. Indah khabar dari rupa. Tapi staff baik je. Oh satu lg kalau amik bilik mcmni susah sikit la nak makan dlm bilik sbb kerusi meja dia sambungan dri kepala katil tuje. Recommend duduk 18suites, cheaper, bersih, ada meja nak makan, a bit luas berbanding payang. Air coway pun disediakan ktsana.
Sutra Beach Resort, Terengganu

Everything was great- came during weekdays so there was no many people here, feels like a private resort. It’s an old beach resort, but the beauty caught my eyes. I wish they can make some enhancement, they deserve more recognition. Also, one problem I encounter- requested for them to send me iron, but the forgot to do so. They should have been more alert because there were like, less than 10 bookings on that day. Service can be improved.
Hotel Ming Star

Overall, my experience at this budget hotel was a mix of pros and cons. I had booked a standard room, which I found to be small but decent. However, there was a noticeable smell in the room and the bed was not very comforting. The cleanliness of the room was okay, although the toilet had a lingering smell. The amenities provided in the room were basic but sufficient, including a small ironing board, slippers, towels, shampoo, and shower gel. There was no complimentary water bottle, you can buy your own at 7eleven or at the reception. On the positive side, the hotel's location was excellent. It was conveniently situated near a drawbridge, food restaurants, a self-service laundry, a 7-Eleven, a Secret Recipe outlet, and an Ayam Geprek restaurant. This is a decent accommodation at an affordable price, still a practical choice for travelers looking for a convenient stay on a budget.
