Great room for the price. The room was quiet as far as no noise from surrounding rooms or corridor, so if street noise bothers you, don’t forget your earplugs and all is fine. Great location- easy to walk to city centre and central station.
(Service score was average just because there was none as such. Room service kicks in every three nights, but that was the length of my stay so I have no experience of this and it’s a self serve check-in and checkout.)

The location is perfect — right in the city center, with easy access to public transport, restaurants, and the main attractions. The room was clean, modern, and very comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always ready to answer questions and give local recommendations. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety of options. The overall atmosphere felt warm, safe, and welcoming.
I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Oslo and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city.

Perfect location, 24 h friendly reception and lounge and sufficient if you just a bed and a shower for the night. Ask for a desk, and you get a room where it flips out of the wall and you can work if needed.

Located right next to the tourist area, it's very convenient for shopping. There's also a tram stop nearby, and the train station is two stops away.
The hotel has a quaint exterior, but the interior is brand new. The rooms are modern and well-equipped, including a fan, kettle, and mini-fridge. The toiletries are also brand-name and smell great.
The rooms facing the atrium were very quiet at night, though the windows only opened a crack, making for limited ventilation (and it was a hot day, making it difficult to sleep).
The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was delicious, and we also had dinner in the breakfast restaurant, which was also very good!

The hotel is very near all landmarks and easily accessible by train stations and tram. It’s a self check in hotel. The bed and pillows are very comfortable, tho the room is quite small so if you have two big luggages then its already crowded. At the lobby is a bar that is open til late at night and in one night of our stay, there was commotion and so many police came around 3am. It woke me up because of the loud noise of people shouting etc.

From the hotel it's easy to walk to some of the main tourist attractions and main streets with many supermarkets and convenience stores around. Our twin room was a little small and didn't have a kettle or fridge, otherwise it was nice and quiet and I slept very well. (A kettle and fridge plus microwave and laundry facilities were available in a shared/public space in the hotel)

Cozy room and amazing hot shower throughout the day. We reached the hotel early around 12noon and got early check-in as well.
Breakfast was amazing. Front office staff was super friendly and helpful, welcomed us with warm smile and greetings (i forgot her name - long black hair).
The surrounding area may seem dull BUT it was safely with many people walking about. 5min walking distance to pretty much anywhere (tram/metro/restaurants). There's a 7/11 just across the hotel for extra convenience.

Our family of four spent four nights at the Scandic Byporten and found it to be an excellent choice for our city adventure. The biggest highlight is undoubtedly the perfect, centralized location. Being directly connected to Oslo Central Station is a game-changer. Arriving by train was effortless, and getting around the city—whether by tram, metro, or on foot to sights like Karl Johans Gate—could not have been easier.
We appreciated the clean, functional, and quiet rooms. They provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay after busy days of exploring. While the rooms are modern and practical rather than overly spacious (typical for a central city hotel), they were perfectly adequate for our family.
The breakfast offered a fantastic variety, fueling us up each morning, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. They even provide disposable cups to take away coffee!

LLoving exploring to the fullHad a wonderful time and used the gym as well. Easy accessible to the train station and the city area to explore. Friendly staff and lovely breakfast. Only experience some disturbance in my sleep on my last night due to people above my room constantly moving around and making noise. Besides that I had a wonderful stay. Would definitely recommend

TtorinessApartment in great location - easy and picturesque walk or quick subway to central station and downtown area. Great little kitchenette to cook your own meals to save $ with supermarket nearby. Bathroom with washing machine, our washed clothes dried overnight hung up in bathroom because of floor heating. Easy & quick check in process even though no reception. There are staff on site - I got extra towels as soon as I asked. I would definitely stay here again if I returned to Oslo.

GGuest UserGreat location. The breakfast buffet had a big variety of food and I really enjoyed it. The lounge was cozy and staff was really nice.
However, the room is not worth the price I paid for. The room is small with the sink and mirror facing the bed. It is impractical to have the sink in the main room, and to have the mirror facing the bed, which has bad spritual meaning. Toothbrushes are not included, and there is no hair conditioner. There is also no air conditioning, but it is okay since Oslo is a cold city. There are several bugs in the corner of the room, and stains could be seen everywhere. The shower is insanely small, which is not friendly for people with bigger body types. There is also no physical lock in the door of the rooms.
Overall, everything about the hotel is nice except the room.

AAI CHEN CHUALocation is really good. In the middle of the shopping street and very close to the train station. Room is very clean and they provide small helpful items that you may need such as a water bottle. Bed is single size. I didn't know that the check in can be done via their website to get the access code. But I managed to sort it out soon.
Really value for money in Oslo!

GGuest UserWe chose an apt because we like to do our own cooking
The stove hob didn't work and they fobbed us of with electronic responses and broken promises for our total stay of 3 days. On the last night they asked us if we would consider changing apts if one became available. What a joke the place was empty You could shoot a cannon and not hit anyone. If they did not have maintenance available they could have offered the change on the first
Night . Lots of food wasted because we had no cook top.
No front desk means that there is no one to complaint to. Their Automated electronic responses to service requests provides appalling customer service. Emails and emergency phone calls don't generate responses either. A disappointing stay.
