This is 100% one of the best things to visit in Xi'an. Cycling around wall was very fun, but also very long, so I'd recommend only cycling a little bit and then just walking to explore too.

Xi'an city wall moat, is an artificially opened ancient river, formed in 1370 AD, has a history of more than 600 years, since ancient times is an important part of the ancient city wall, for Xi'an, Xi'an people, is an indispensable existence. The history of Xi'an moat can be traced back to the Chang'an Emperor City of Sui and Tang Dynasty. At that time, it was only a city of 9 meters wide and 4 meters deep. In the Ming and Hongwu years, Zhu Yuanxuan was building a city wall in Xi'an, and the early form of the moat was only then. Subsequently in the Qing Dynasty, the moat shouldered the heavy responsibility of urban drainage, until the founding of New China, Xi'an moat has been shouldered the city's 45 square kilometers of urban flood control function, becoming the city's rainwater storage and flood discharge main road. From 2013 to 2014, Xi'an completed the upgrading of Jianguomen-Zhuquemen, and in 2017 the upgrading of Zhuquemen-Ximen was completed. The renovated moat ensures the separation of rain sewage and landscape water, so that the water quality of the moat is always clear.

Xi'an Revolutionary Park is located on the north side of Xi'an West Fifth Road, covering an area of 150 mu. It was founded in February 1927 to commemorate the soldiers and civilians who died in Xi'an on the eve of the Northern Expedition War. At that time, a mound was built in the park, and a martyr's shrine and a revolutionary pavilion were built for citizens to commemorate. The stone of Taihu Lake in the fountain in front of the revolutionary pavilion is a palace relic of the Tang Dynasty. In the spring of 1926, on the eve of the Northern Expedition, Liu Zhenhua, with the support of Zhang Zuolin and others, gathered a unit known as "100,000" in an attempt to capture Xi'an to expand the territory of Beiyang warlords. Liu Zhenhua besieged the city in August, set fire to 100,000 mu of wheat fields outside the city, and forcibly dug a 3-kilometer broken ditch around the city to force the whole city's soldiers and civilians to surrender. The generals of the National Army, Yang Hucheng and Li Huchen, led the whole city's military and civilians to defend Xi'an. Later, General Feng Yuxiang's army entered Shaanxi and smashed Liu Zhenhua's conspiracy. It is called "Two Tigers Guarding Chang'an". During the defense of the city, about 50,000 people died, accounting for a quarter of the population of the city at that time. In February 1927, in memory of the dead soldiers and civilians in Xi'an, Feng Yuxiang led the public to build a revolutionary park, built tombs, and established martyrs' shrines and revolutionary pavilions for citizens to commemorate.

I like this road very much. I have been to N many times. The road is narrow and steep. The new driver is cautious. It is recommended to change to a one-way street! There is also a more ancient road, the road is too difficult to go.

20240401 All day: 1. The stone fortress is located next to the Three Gorges family in the 5A scenic spot. The Three Gorges family is a landscape and humanistic scenic spot on the banks of the Yangtze River. It is located on the west bank of the eastern section of Xilingxia, one of the three gorges of the Yangtze River. It takes the local Baren village as the core and covers an area of 14 square kilometers. It has both a quiet and beautiful valley and a rolling river view on both sides of the Yangtze River. And interspersed with colorful folk programs, full of fun. The scenic spot is composed of five major areas of Shipai Fortress (4A), Honghuang Times, Bawang Tribes, Xiajiang style, Longxi Shenyun. It is a good place for viewing photography, mountaineering fitness, humanistic learning, performing arts appreciation, ancient costume photo, parent-child entertainment. There are celebrities such as Lu Yu and Guo Moruo in history. It is also the seat of the stone card defense in the Western War of Resistance Against Japan. ① Address: Shipai Village, Sandouping Town, Yiling District, Yichang City, Hubei Province ② Transportation: No bus but there is a direct shuttle bus (Bus Passenger Transport Center Station). It is very good to drive. ③ Heavy season: No ④ Time: 7 hours ⑤ Ticket price: 210 yuan (Tickets and tickets) 2. Shipai Fortress is located at the southernmost end, and it is a 4A scenic spot. But the opening is currently suspended in renovation. Yichang is the waterway throat of the government of the Republic of China to accompany the capital of Chongqing. In the 32nd year of the Republic of China (1943), the Japanese army used 100,000 troops to attack the place and approach Chongqing, but ended in a fiasco, with more than 7,000 casualties, accounting for 27% of the total number of casualties of the Japanese army in the battle of the whole of the West of the Confederacy. Therefore, Chiang Kai-shek called this battle "the Battle of Stalingrad in China", which is of great strategic significance, and the national army entered the stage of confrontation with the Japanese army on the front battlefield. This area has: ① Hujintan Ferry: The pier of the visitor center, the only ferry on the east bank of the Yangtze River, is the starting point and end point for tourists entering and leaving the scenic spot. The cruise ship in the scenic area is a medium-sized double-decker passenger ship ② Yangjiaxi Ferry: The ferry port of Shipai Fortress ③ Memorial Hall of Resistance Against Japan: The castle-style building on the east bank of Yangjiaxi's entrance to the river is being renovated. Building materials are piled in the house, surrounded by bunkers (with heavy machine guns), Pittracks and other fortifications ④ Stone Pai Anti-Japanese War Monument: The sword-shaped stone monument outside the memorial hall, the monument is engraved with a brief introduction to the battle ⑤ Stone Pai Anti-Japanese War loyalists/Shipai Fort Site: The other 2 parts of the Shipai Fortress Scenic Area are too far from the memorial hall and there is no time limit for a day trip. After the scenic spot resumes business, the second brush detailed writing ⑥ Mingyuewan: The Yangtze River turns 110° here. The water level before the Three Gorges Project is much lower than now. It has become the ghost gate of the passing ships. It is known as the "First Bay of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River". It is a must-win place for soldiers and families. There are many small holes on both sides of the cliff. Easy to guard difficult to attack ⑦ Shipai Ancient Town: Provide dining and accommodation
