The Bilbao Pedestrian Bridge, designed by Calatrava, was completed in 1994. The parabolic arch, 14.6 meters high, is formed from a single, 75-cm diameter steel pipe, creating a strikingly beautiful structure. The bridge's technical design was rigorous, with six shock absorbers installed. Calatrava, while maintaining a high degree of structural integrity, created a bridge spanning the Nervion River that perfectly complements the city's style.
