Located on the west coast of Bora Bora, Vaitape is the main town of the island and the first port that attracts those who stay on the main island to visit. There is a marina and a public marina, a tourist office, three banks, two petrol stations, a post office with a public telephone, and a pharmacy. An obscure main street is lined with a string of boutiques and eateries. In addition, the town has a bus stop, taxis, coffee shops with internet access and two charming churches (Catholic and Protestant) with red roofs and spires and pastel paintings on the walls.
