Ocean Park Hong Kong, located in the south of Hong Kong Island, is one of the most popular theme parks in the world. It covers an area of 170 acres, and its buildings are distributed on Nan Long Mountain and Wong Chuk Hang Valley.
Ocean Park is divided into two areas: Summit Paradise and Waterfront Paradise, with 8 different-themed worlds, including Asian Animal World, Dream Water City, Powerful World, Tropical Rainforest World, Dynamic World, Ocean World, Rapids World and Ice world.
Summit Paradise
△ Mainly based on amusement park carnivals, it is more suitable for adults who are looking for excitement. Whether it’s the roller coaster, rocking boat, or jumping machine in the “Ocean World”, or the surfing spaceship, ore ride, or earth-shaking ride in the “Rapid World” and “Dynamic World”, it will definitely make your heart beat faster and make you scream again and again.
Asian Animal World
△ It is one of the first parks in the world to have indoor and outdoor exhibition halls. Various animals from different regions in Asia are displayed in the park. The Hong Kong Jockey Club Sichuan Curiosities Center - formerly known as the Hong Kong Jockey Club Giant Panda Garden, opened in 1999 and became the home of giant pandas An An and Jia Jia. In 2012, it was renovated into the Hong Kong Jockey Club Sichuan Curiosities Museum, and two nationally protected animals, Lele and Huhu, were loaned from Sichuan.
Jellyfish Kaleidoscope
△ Opened on April 10, 2006, it is the largest independent jellyfish museum in Asia.
Dream water city
△ Ocean Wonders-ranked among the top ten aquariums in the world and the 9th largest aquarium in the world. The museum also has an ornamental dome with a diameter of 5.5 meters, allowing visitors to explore the underwater world. Visitors can also reach the giant viewing screen 8 meters high and 13 meters wide to see all the fish in the museum at once. Double Dragon Romance, located in an artificial lake, is the world's first 360-degree panoramic water curtain. The fountain uses a large number of straight-up fountains to form a large water curtain. There is a water-fire compatible fountain outside the large water curtain.
Main means of transportation in the park
1. Mountain Cable Car: The mountain cable car connects the mountain to the bottom of the mountain along a 1.5-kilometer-long overhead steel cable. Passengers can enjoy the vast scenery of the southern district of Hong Kong Island and the South China Sea along the way.
2. Mountaineering Elevator: The mountaineering elevator was opened in 1987 and connects the two areas of Nanlang Mountain (Ocean World) and Tai Shue Wan (Rapid World). With a total length of 225 meters, it is the second longest outdoor escalator system in the world. Mountain lifts are not affected by the weather.
3. Ocean Train: Welcome to take a ride on Ocean Park's Ocean Train to embark on a thrilling deep-sea adventure journey, traveling at high speeds between the Peak Paradise on the mountain and the Seaside Paradise below.
This is the third time I have come. If I choose Ocean Park and Disneyland, I will choose Ocean Park. This time I came with my friends. It rained a little, but there were not many people. I didn't have to queue up. I played everything several times. It was cool.
In addition to the enthusiastic (fish worker) fish of the sea animals, the deep impression is that the cable car connected to the mountain is super good, basically you can have a group of cars in your own home, and there are many people who don't have to fight with others when we go down the mountain. In addition, the staff of the Ocean Park are still very nice, and they are also seen everywhere sharing animal habits with the audience, etc.
The park is huge in size and expects lots of walking. The lower part of the hill consists mainly of the asian animals viewing namely the pandas and otters and also an aquarium . The exciting rides and carnival kiosks are located at the upper hill side. One can choose to access the Upper Hill via cable car rides, which takes longer, but you get a view of the ocean riding up, or the faster way will be the “ submarine “ train up. Queues at the rides seem relatively faster compared to Disney, but still, the popular one can wait up to 40 minutes approximately.
Ocean park is a very famous location at Hong Kong. You can watch so many special things like Panda, Fish. Nice place for family visit
Ocean Park Hong Kong is a popular marine-themed amusement park that offers a diverse range of attractions. The park features a mix of thrilling rides, animal exhibits, and live shows. The exhibits include sharks, dolphins, and penguins. We even saw a real white fox!The main star of the visit for me will be the scenic cable car ride. It takes us about 30-40 minutes in the moving queue to get to the summit. If you have constantly hungry kids, do pack some snacks and plain water for them.
Visiting Ocean Park in Hong Kong is an absolute delight! This iconic amusement park offers a unique blend of thrilling attractions, mesmerizing marine life, and breathtaking natural beauty that is sure to leave you with unforgettable memories.
