A very small museum, about half an hour away, no free admission. There are many books from the Ottoman period.
A gallery, museum, and research space, SALT Galata is the more academic cousin of SALT Beyoglu. The events and exhibitions here are somewhat less fiery, but the library is absolutely amazing and has an impressive collection of works about art and architecture of the Ottoman period. The restaurant and café has great views of the city sky line and Golden Horn, and the bookstore is also notable. The building is a short walk down from the Galata tower, in an imposing building that used to house a bank.
Oh how I love this place! This is a cultural institution with great style and an engaging schedule all year round. From the awesome library space with free wifi and a large collection of books to indulge in, to the exhibition space downstairs that hosts critical international installations celebrating Cultures. They also host workshops every now and then...Note that this space is closed on Mondays and the library space fills up pretty quickly by half day. So be sure to come early if you want to have an indoor productive library work day!
The sister museum of SALT Beyoglu. SALT Galata is in a beautifully renovated Ottoman bank on Bankalar Caddesi (Bank Street). As well as exhibition space it includes the Ottoman Bank Museum, SALT Research, a free access library and archvie, and a restaurant with a pretty awesome view!
我认为很重要的一点是他们把重点放在相关联的亚美尼亚人的历史上的里程碑。 楼上有一个漂亮的咖啡厅和餐厅看着美丽的风景。
