Monkey Beach

Monkey Beach is located in the northwest of Phi Phi Island, Thailand. It is a small beach famous for its wild macaques. Visitors can take a longtail boat from Tonsai Bay to get there, which takes about 15 minutes. You can also choose to rent a kayak and paddle along the coastline. The visiting hours are from morning to noon, when the tide is low and the monkeys often move around on the beach. Visitors need to keep a safe distance and avoid feeding food to avoid being fined. It is recommended to use a clamshell backpack to prevent the monkeys from opening the zipper. There is a natural freshwater seepage point on the rock wall on the east side of the beach, where you can observe the monkeys' drinking behavior. At low tide, the underwater trail is exposed, which is suitable for snorkeling and observing giant clams. There are no commercial facilities on the beach. Visitors need to bring their own drinking water and food, and take away garbage. During the rainy season, the sea conditions may be unstable. It is recommended to check the weather forecast and maritime bulletins in advance. It is recommended to use a telephoto lens when taking photos, and avoid using flash to avoid disturbing the monkeys.
