Rong County Museum

Rong County Museum: In 1971, Rong County Cultural Center set up full-time cultural relics cadres and officially started cultural relics work. In 1978, the cultural relics exhibition room was built and began to exhibit cultural relics. In 1979, Rong County Cultural Relics Management Office was officially established, and Rong County Museum was established in 1989. There are more than 6,700 precious cultural relics from the Neolithic Age to the founding of New China, including 3 national first-class cultural relics, 36 second-class cultural relics, and 258 third-class cultural relics. The basic exhibition is "Famous County in the South, Rongzhou Memories-Rong County Historical Relics Exhibition".

Rong County Museum is a garden-style museum with ancient architectural relics and garden scenery. It covers an area of ​​18,200 square meters and a building area of ​​1,880 square meters. It faces Xiujiang River in the south and Dujiao Mountain in the distance, with a beautiful environment. There are 5,357 collections in the museum, mainly local historical relics, including stone axes, large stone shovels and steatite net pendants unearthed in batches from the Neolithic Age. There are bronze axes and bronze chisels from the Warring States Period and distinctive southern ethnic minority musical instruments. There are half-liang coins from the Qin Dynasty and bronze drums from the Han Dynasty to the Northern and Southern Dynasties. There are various bronze mirrors, stone inkstones and ceramics from the Tang and Song Dynasties. There are bronze, porcelain, jade and other handicrafts and art heirlooms from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In addition, a number of valuable local documents are also collected, including more than 200 kinds and 400 volumes of family genealogies alone, as well as works by local cultural celebrities such as Wang Guide, Wang Weixin, Su Wuchang, Feng Zhutang, and Xu Songshi, and authentic paintings and calligraphy by famous calligraphers and painters such as Wang Su, Kang Youwei, Xu Beihong, and Chen Shuxun.
