Villa Montezuma Museum

Would be happy to be here. Worth walking an extra mile or two outside the tourist circle. The ground needs to do some work, but the interior and exterior of the 1880s house are beautiful. The historical society did an excellent job of matching the fine, ornate period works with known descriptions of Shepard’s house and its contents. The narrator on the day we visited had a very rich knowledge of the original owner, the history of the house, and several works on display. Jesse Shepard (Jesse Shepard) (later Francis Gleeson) is a charming man, and the house is a good reflection of his personality and the "boom" period in San Diego. Unlike Whaley House and other historical sites in the area, Villa Montezuma (Villa Montezuma) has no ropes, which makes the experience more enjoyable.

The museum is located on King Street in San Diego, which was originally a private residence and has now been converted into a museum. The museum retains the original home layout and objects, allowing viewers to see what California's most luxurious homes in the past looked like, and how valuable the furniture and artwork inside were.
