The fairy-tale town hidden deep in the mountains of Japan - Shirakawa-go
Oh, finally came to the fairy-tale world in reality: Shirakawa-go
❄️The first time I knew about Japan's gassho-zukuri architecture was on a Christmas day in a certain year, when I accidentally brushed a photo of Shirakawa-go lighting up.
"Does such a beautiful place really exist in the world?"
"But, such a dreamy village should be inconvenient for transportation..." "I haven't got a Japanese driver's license yet, cry."
I thought so at the time, and then the travel plan for Shirakawa-go was shelved for many years.
This time I happened to live in Nagoya, and suddenly felt close to Shirakawa-go. I checked the transportation and found that departing from Nagoya, taking the express bus (Meitetsu Bus, etc.), it takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes to get there! It turns out to be like this! That's not far away!
Set off immediately!
The first time I stepped into Shirakawa-go, I found that the village was much larger than I imagined, and I had to walk over a large suspension bridge at the entrance.
The roads in the village are very spacious, with many ancient buildings, small shops and local cuisine.
The check-in points where everyone often takes photos on the Internet: the observatory on the top of the mountain where you can take a panoramic view, you actually need to take a car to get up.
The scenery is very healing, just a little snow to embellish it! Um~ Living in such a World Heritage village must be dreamy!
It's like a paradise, everyone must come and see if you have the chance!
In addition, if you are traveling from China, it is also recommended to enter from Chubu International Airport. If you live in Nagoya, the cost performance of hotels and other places is very high, and it is convenient to go to Kyoto and other surrounding areas!
Hehe, see you on our next trip! Shirakawa-go

it is such a winter fairy tale. I visited here during a snow showering day and everything is blanketed in pure white. it is a moment of my life
There are not many practical strategies in Shirakawa Township. I will add them. I hope it will help everyone's plans and travel. My route is from Nagoya-Takayama-Shirakawa Township, staying in the mountains. There is only a bus from Takayama to Shirakawa Township. We can go online to check the Nongfei bus website for information about the time. The bus stop is next to the left hand side of the Takayama Railway Station, within 50 meters, very convenient. Figure 3. The fare is 2,600 yen, and there is no discount of 5,200 yen. The difference between the bus and the non-reservation is that there are fixed seats (Figure 1) for the reservation. There are only white tickets for the non-reservation (Figure 2). Once the ticket is sold out, only the back shifts are bought. (Figure 10), in addition, they also have a day trip bus for Shirakawa Township, see Figure 8. Take the bus at the entrance of the ticket office, wait for the bus at No. 4, see Figure 4. Shirakawa Township is about 50 minutes one way, arrive at Shirakawa Township, get off and walk to the village, it is recommended to go to the observation deck first, there is a shuttle bus at the entrance of the village, see Figure 9 for the location of the car, every 20 minutes, 200 yen. If it is about 15 minutes walk, it is also a good experience, it is to climb a slope. The ground is slippery in winter, be careful. The whole village is about 2 hours. If you encounter a light ceremony, this is a need to make an appointment. If you make a successful appointment, you will send a hang card and write a few months. Encountered the lighting ceremony, the village entrance began to not let outside people in at around 17:00, except for the successful appointment of the hanging card. Because I did not make an appointment, I rushed back to the mountain at 17:30, so I left the village. In theory, you can stay in the village to watch the lights, but you need to solve the traffic problem of returning to the mountains. If you live in Baichuan Township B&B, that is another thing. I won't say anything about the scenery, too many people commented lyrically. As long as the traffic problem is solved, it is still worth walking once.
Came to visit at night time so I couldn't fully explore the place. However, I was impressed by its unique and beautiful houses. Would definitely go back soon.
The village was like a maze to me. I got lost when I was trying to go back to our bus, but that's part of the fun that you will experience there. This place is a perfect winter getaway. There are many shops and food in the village. I would recommend going to Shirakawa-go in winter so you can see the tiny houses covered with snow. That view is so dreamy. ❄️☃️
A remote mountain village, but a tourist destination that countless people yearn for. Shirakawa Township Hezhang Village is located in the foothills of Baishan Mountain in the northwest of Jixian County, Japan. Here, the mountains are surrounded by mountains, the moors are crisscrossing, and the clear rivers pass through the village. The autumn mountains and rivers are colorful and quiet. The high altitude here ushers in a large amount of snowfall in winter, and it is a famous snow township in Japan. The mountain residence here is very distinctive, with a 60-degree angle of human-shaped thatched roof covering the wooden roof, which can let rain and snow slide, no water seepage, no snow. This special roof is famous for "joint palms", more than 110 buildings in one piece, in 1995 was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
