Located 25 kilometers southwest of Shuozhou, this place is also known as Chenjiayu, also known as Chenjiagu. The narrow valley runs from north to south and is more than ten miles long. There are two cliffs in the east and west, strange peaks and rocks, as steep as a wall. It has been a place for military use since ancient times. Yang Ye, a famous anti-Liao general in the Song Dynasty, died here. Related background: In the third year of Yongxi’s reign in the Northern Song Dynasty (986 AD), Long Xu, Emperor Shengzong of the Liao Kingdom, ascended the throne at a young age, and the Empress Dowager Xiao came to the court as regent. Song Taizong Zhao Guangyi took advantage of Liao's "weak mother and widow sons" and attempted to retake the sixteen states of Yanyun in three ways. In the middle route, Tian Chongjin was the main general and sent troops to Feihukou; in the east route, Cao Bin was the main general, and Mi Xin was the deputy general to send troops to Xiongzhou; Yang Ye and his son were brave and good at fighting and took the lead, and quickly recovered the four states of Shuo, Shuo, Ying and Yun. Later, due to the defeat of Cao Bin on the east road and Tian Zhongjin on the middle road, the situation on the battlefield took a turn for the worse. In the face of the Liao army's superiority and the Song army's weakness, Yang Ye advocated the strategy of "showing in the east and serving the west", but Pan Mei and the military supervisor Wang Chen strongly opposed it, and forced Yang Ye to face the enemy head-on. Yang Ye knew that this was "hitting the stone with an egg", which was a big taboo in the military, but in order to show his loyalty to the Song Dynasty, he had to fight reluctantly. At dawn the next day, Yang Ye led his troops to meet Yelu Xilun, the commander of the Liao army, in the east of Shuozhou. The two sides fought for several rounds. Yang Ye was outnumbered. He thought that with Pan Mei leading his troops to support him, the battle would turn from defeat to victory. Unexpectedly, Pan Mei had ulterior motives, publicly reported her personal revenge, and wanted to put Yang Ye to death. At this time, Yang Ye was fighting with the Liao soldiers, and his shirt was bloodied. The rest of the soldiers were also killed in battle, and their bodies were scattered all over the mountains and fields, blood-stained in Langer Village, and their state was terrible.
