Huanglong Scenic Area will implement peak season ticket prices starting from June 1! The main Huanglong scenic area will be fully open from June 1, 2024, with opening hours starting at 8:00 AM, and peak season ticket prices will be in effect (full price ticket 170 RMB per person, half price ticket 85 RMB per person). The scenic area's cableway will start operating at 8:00 AM, stop selling tickets at 4:30 PM, with the last ascent at 5:00 PM and the last descent at 5:30 PM. Please arrange your entry time reasonably. Travel tips: 1. Transportation: Self-driving: It is recommended to visit Jiuzhaigou on the first day and drive to Huanglong on the second day. By plane: Take a car or self-drive to the scenic area after flying directly to Huanglong Airport. 2. The Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area is located in Songpan County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China. It is the only well-preserved plateau wetland in China, known for its colorful ponds, snow-capped mountains, forests, canyons, and waterfalls. The total area of the scenic region is about 1340 square kilometers, with the core area being 700 square kilometers, and its altitude is above 3000 meters. The area is famous for its colorful ponds, snow-capped mountains, canyons, forests, shoals, ancient temples, and folk customs, known as the 'Seven Wonders'. It consists of several scenic spots including the main Huanglong Valley, Muni Valley, Snow Treasure Summit, Red Star Rock, and Danyun Gorge. The natural and cultural landscapes are integrated, with the main Huanglong Valley featuring terraced arrangements of calcium carbonate deposits, including natural attractions such as the cascading waterfalls, multi-colored ponds, and bonsai ponds. Additionally, the Huanglong area, as part of Yu the Great's flood control efforts, has a rich cultural heritage. Within the scenic area, there is the Huanglong Temple, which is related to the Huanglong mythology and has become an important testament to Yu the Great's water management. The area also retains the religious culture and folk customs of Huanglong, attracting numerous tourists.

Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong have always been renowned, and this Qingming holiday, unable to return home due to the distance, I chose to travel to pass the time. For college students, making travel plans can be troublesome. To save time and effort, we opted for a group tour. Despite some negative comments about group tours online, we went ahead without hesitation, believing that the essence of life is to experience. On the first day, most of the time was spent on the road, and the guide patiently explained the history and local customs of the land, making the dull journey interesting. With the guide's humorous speech, I learned about the unique marriage system of the Tibetan people and some simple everyday phrases. On the second day, we officially started our trip to Jiuzhaigou, the most anticipated part. After arriving at Jiuzhaigou around eight in the morning, the guide let us explore on our own until five in the afternoon. The ample time allowed us to wander leisurely. The bright and clear blue lakes were a sight to behold, and the endless mountain peaks reflected in the lakes created a stunning landscape. Renting traditional Tibetan attire, we took photos in the beautiful blue waters, creating our own memories. The sightseeing cars everywhere, and the awe-inspiring Pearl Shoal Waterfall, these scenes are forever preserved in our phones. Even the most eloquent language cannot describe the impact of Jiuzhaigou. Only by being there can one truly understand its wonderful taste. On the third day, we followed the group to Huanglong. It was raining outside, and snowing in Huanglong. Before even arriving at Huanglong, the snow scenes outside the window were breathtaking. As a child who grew up in the south, seeing snow has always been a luxury. When we arrived at Huanglong, the snow on the ground was like a thick plush blanket, pure white as far as the eye could see. We rolled in the snow, had snowball fights, and created memories unique to our youth. At this time, Huanglong was dressed in silver, with thick snow covering the branches. We then reached the colorful ponds of Huanglong, where a unique phenomenon occurs - travertine. Its formation is a natural marvel. Shocked and amazed at every turn. At the best age, we saw the best scenery and left footprints of our youth. No matter when, go out more, those images from textbooks can only be understood through personal experience.

The main attractions of Huanglong Scenic Area are within Huanglong Valley, where the calcified pools nestled among the green mountains are the biggest highlight of Huanglong Valley. The pools are crystal clear and colorful, with various shapes of calcified pools, and every step offers a view. The plateau sunlight is strong, so it is necessary to take sun protection measures. Visiting Huanglong Scenic Area in summer usually does not result in altitude sickness, and the temperature is not too hot.

五彩池 on 黄龙风景区 huanglong scenic area is well worth the detour between ur journey from chengdu and jiuzhaigou. weather is luck dependent but late May was good during my visit. sunny but cool. great for photos. the ponds formation is unlike any i’ve seen before and really unique. the colours made it even more amazing. and this is not even the prettiest time of the year. highly recommended. along the way there’s a lot of toilets and several stall selling drinks and snacks. u can try somehow to book in advance an internal shuttle bus to cut ur walking distance. it’s 3.2km walk to the ponds otherwise. but it’s a scenic walk without too much ascend or descend. i took the cable car both ways but u should choose to trek down in the summer and autumn seasons where there will be pools along the way. now they’re dried up so not much motivation to do the trek down.#huanglong #黄龙五彩池

Many visitors to Jiuzhaigou take the opportunity to also visit Huanglong. Huanglong and Jiuzhaigou were jointly listed as a World Natural Heritage site in 1992. Huanglong is situated at a high altitude, with an average elevation of over 3,000 meters. As the car slowly climbs, one can already feel the effects of altitude sickness. Despite a slight headache due to the altitude sickness, when one sees the layered colorful pools in Huanglong, it's easy to understand why it's called the 'Jade Pool' on Earth. The crystal-clear waters of the pools change colors with the surrounding scenery and the angle of the sunlight. Visiting in spring, although it's not the high water season and some pools have low water levels, the beauty of the snow-capped mountains is still striking under the sunlight, making it even more dazzling and enchanting, like a fairyland on Earth.

The most famous attractions in the Huanglong Scenic Area are the Huanglong Temple and the extremely famous calcified colorful ponds. Although May has just passed the dry season and the water has not yet fully filled up, it is still very beautiful ❤️ The entire scenic area is well-equipped. Basically, you take a cable car to the top of the mountain and then walk a flight of stairs to reach Huanglong Temple. Walking slowly and taking photos along the way is not tiring at all. On the way back, you can walk down the mountain, which takes about two hours. If time does not permit, you can also take the scenic area's cable car back the same way. ❄️ It's hard to imagine that in May, the entire mountain area is still covered with snow, making for very photogenic scenes. The gently flowing streams, after thousands of years of sedimentation, have formed colorful travertine ponds, where I seem to see the traces of time. Huanglong is not only enchanting for its water colors but also for its spectacular mountains. Climbing along the path, the primitive forests on both sides exude a fresh scent, with various flowers and plants blooming by the roadside, as if welcoming every visitor from afar. Whether it's the tall and straight pine trees or the babbling brooks, they all make me appreciate the beauty and magic of nature. The fairyland of Huanglong is not just a visual feast but also a purification of the soul. Here, I have felt the harmonious coexistence of man and nature, a pure and beautiful feeling that is hard to describe in words. This trip to Huanglong has deepened my understanding of the wonder and beauty of nature and made me cherish every moment of life even more.
