West Mountain

Xishan, also known as Dongting Xishan and Jinting Town, is the largest island in Taihu Lake. On the island, you can see the misty Taihu Lake scenery, as well as Piaomiao Peak, which ranks first among the 72 peaks of Taihu Lake. There are ancient villages and caves. There are many scenic spots to visit, each with its own characteristics. Farmhouses and lake seafood are also very attractive. The Taihu Bridge is divided into three sections, which string together the land, Changsha Island, Yeshan Island, and Xishan Island from north to south, like a necklace, which is a landscape in itself. Tourists mainly visit Xishan Island. There is a mountain in the middle of Xishan Island, and the tour route is circular around the mountain. It is recommended to arrange at least two days. On the first day, visit Linwu Cave and Souvenir attractions on the east road, stay on the north side of Shigong Mountain or in Mingyuewan Ancient Village at night, and go to Piaomiao Peak or other attractions on the west road on the second day. Of course, accommodation is not only available in Shigong Mountain and Mingyuewan Ancient Village. Xishan has very developed accommodation conditions, mainly farmhouses, and there are also luxurious resort hotels. There are many local restaurants. Shigong Mountain and Mingyuewan Ancient Village are concentrated with restaurants along the lake. It is a must to try the special food "Three Whites of Taihu Lake": white fish, silver fish, and white shrimp. The Taihu hairy crabs that are available in autumn are also very good.
