2024 Global 100 - Best Things to Do
Statues/Sculptures

Arriving at Liberty Island in the early morning, the Statue of Liberty stood majestic against a clear, blue sky. The ferry ride offered panoramic views of Manhattan’s skyline, gradually unveiling Lady Liberty’s grandeur. Climbing to the crown, the spiral staircase was a journey through history, each step echoing the aspirations of millions. From the top, the sweeping vistas of New York Harbor were breathtaking, the city bustling below contrasted with the serene waters. The sunlight glinted off the statue's copper, casting a warm glow. Walking around the pedestal, I marveled at the intricate details often overlooked. As the sun set, the statue illuminated, a beacon of freedom and hope, creating an unforgettable memory of awe and inspiration.

Buy tickets in advance and make an appointment, and there is no need to arrive strictly according to the appointment time, as long as you arrive before 12 am on the same day. To the dock of Fort Park, you can see the tourists waiting for the security check to board the ship. The queue is quite long, but the queue is quite orderly. We started to queue at the pier around 9:30, and boarded at close to 11 o'clock, and then ferryed to the island where the goddess of freedom is located. After landing on the island, the museum introduced the entire process of the construction of the Statue of Liberty, which was designed and built by the French and presented to the United States. There are actually many versions before the final production is completed. This historical process is quite interesting to see. After visiting the museum, take a close photo at the foot of the Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty is a symbol of the United States, and it is quite commemorative to take pictures at the foot of the Statue of Liberty. After a round, buy souvenirs at the visitor center, sit on the stool at the door and rest in the sun for a while, then take another Ellis Island on the boat, which is mainly a museum of immigration-related history, and then board the boat from Ellis Island, returning to the Fort Park at about 3:30 pm. When I went to the cloudy day, when I came back, the sun was shining, and when the sun was good, I took pictures and made movies. There is a spiral staircase inside the Statue of Liberty, you can go to the crown of the Statue of Liberty to play, but this needs to be reserved 30 days in advance, very popular, I made an appointment late, did not make an appointment to the ticket to the crown, unfortunately, look forward to coming again next time.

The National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York City offers a poignant and solemn tribute to the nearly 3,000 victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks. The Memorial features two massive reflecting pools set in the footprints of the Twin Towers, surrounded by the names of those who perished. The Museum, housed beneath the Memorial Plaza, provides a comprehensive narrative of the events of 9/11 through artifacts, personal stories, and multimedia displays. It captures the immense human loss and the global impact of the attacks while also honoring the resilience and heroism that emerged. A visit to this site is a deeply moving experience, offering both a place for reflection and a powerful reminder of history.

This is a classic vacation activity for an afternoon in NYC. Take the subway to DUMBO in Brooklyn for iconic photo ops before walking across the bridge into Manhattan.

One World Trade Center (World Trade Center) is the tallest building in the western hemisphere (respectively, in New York too), 546 meters from the ground to the tip of the spire. It was opened in 2014. It is located near the site of the fall of the twin towers on September 11, where the memorial park is now located .There is an observation deck at an altitude of 382 meters. With restaurants, shopping malls and various interesting places. The disadvantage (turning into advantages) of the site is its closeness behind glass. Generally speaking, that was fantastic adventure! I will never forget this experience.

I feel that the skyline and various skyscrapers on Wall Street are really YYDS. I walked from the subway station to the bottom of Man Island. If there is enough time, I will arrange a cruise to go out to sea. The super comfortable New York play route punched in. New York's lower city, especially on the river bank, has a variety of classic niche museums, tired to go to the museum to sit around, feel that time unconsciously slow down. While the main street where the Wall Street bulls are located is crowded with tourists, the streets next to it are not too busy and crowded

The statue of the bronze cow on Wall Street has been one of the most important symbols of American capitalism and one of the must-visit attractions for foreign tourists to New York. The bronze cow statue was designed by Italian artist Dimodika, the bronze cow is nearly 5 meters long and weighs 6,300 kilograms. Countless tourists who come to visit are willing to take pictures with the bronze cow and pray for good luck by touching the horns of the bronze cow.

The art district here in Brooklyn is a place where the surrounding buildings are a bit old, but the artistic atmosphere is particularly good. There are many art workers living here, and some art creations are quite beautiful.

If New York City, in addition to the famous Wall Street and the copper cattle, Ground Zero is also a large New York must-check tourist attraction, but unlike other lively New York, it feels that Ground Zero thieves have a little more historical significance, a huge square sinking pool, The plaque around the name of the victims is engraved in a dense manner, and many flowers can be seen placed next to the name for memorialization. There is also a bronze relief next to the World Trade Center site. If there is enough time, you may as well follow the navigation and walk all the way. This is to commemorate the heroic fire rescue in the 911 incident. A 20-meter-long bronze relief sculpture built by firefighters, alongside photos of 343 fire officers and soldiers who were tragically killed in the disaster, accompanied by a sentence of "May we never forget", makes people sigh the precious and beautiful nature of the peace era. Standing at Ground Zero, surrounded by towering skyscrapers, the contrast is very strong.
