Majiagou Scenic Area

May Day is coming up, and if you haven't decided where to go yet~ Consider Western Sichuan, oh, Majiagou is less crowded and the scenery is beautiful It's a good choice, you can see snow mountains and meadows I can't count how many times I've been there Departing from Chengdu by car to Majiagou scenic area, it takes about 6h to reach the entrance of the scenic area, the hiking distance is about 10km, and it takes 2h to reach Moon Lake, it is recommended to walk a bit slower~ 🪨The overall highest altitude will reach 4200 meters, so harsh~ I usually exercise, so I have quite severe altitude sickness. ☁️About the weather: The weather is expected to be very nice for May Day~ and not cold, the picture is a recent real shot. If you are afraid of cold, you need to bring a down jacket 🍲About food: There are many Sichuan dishes along the way, which are quite delicious and not expensive, friends who like spicy food can just walk into any restaurant and it will be tasty 🏠About accommodation: You can stay in Maerkang or Majiagou, Maerkang has better conditions, Majiagou is just some local residents' homes 📝Little tips: Majiagou is a relatively niche attraction in Western Sichuan, not many people even during the holidays, but Western Sichuan has all the beautiful scenery you could want✌️You can bring an umbrella when hiking, just in case it rains it can be very cold. You can also bring some snacks, fruits, oranges, bananas🍌etc., we walked quite slowly so it was okay, I only had a little bit of altitude sickness, and remember to drink more hot water!

If you miss it, you must go once next year. It is still relatively primitive. There were not many people when we went during the week, basically retired ladies and uncles. Those with average physical strength must go to Qumei Cuo!

In the mysterious and enchanting Western Sichuan, there is a place that exists like a secret realm—Maga Ditch. The scenery here is beautiful with few people, making it an extremely ideal travel destination choice. It takes about 6 hours to drive from Chengdu to reach the entrance of the Maga Ditch scenic area. The whole trek is about 10 kilometers, and it takes approximately 2 hours to reach the beautiful Moon Lake. During this trekking process, you might as well slow down and immerse your body and mind in the scenery along the way. The highest altitude here reaches up to 4200 meters. Although I usually exercise, I still suffer quite severely from altitude sickness. Make sure to keep warm, and be sure to bring a down jacket. In terms of food, there are many delicious Sichuan dishes to choose from along the way, which are tasty and affordably priced. Friends who like spicy food can freely walk into a restaurant and enjoy the feast of delicious food. As for accommodation, you can choose to stay in Maerkang or in the homes of local residents in Maga Ditch, where the accommodation conditions in Maerkang are relatively better. Maga Ditch is a relatively niche attraction in the Western Sichuan region. Even during the holiday season, there won't be too many crowds. However, it has all the stunning scenery of Western Sichuan, which can be described as all-encompassing. Remember to bring an umbrella when trekking, in case you encounter rainy weather and feel cold, and also bring some snacks and fruits, such as oranges, bananas, etc. We walked slowly, and I only had a slight case of altitude sickness, so be sure to drink plenty of hot water! If you are still struggling with not knowing where to go for a trip, then come to Maga Ditch in Western Sichuan and experience its unique charm for yourself!

Not only is it pet-friendly, but dogs can also take the shuttle bus together. Address: Lianghe Township, Xiaojin County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan. Route: Navigate to Majiagou Tourist Center, about 5 hours from Chengdu, about 1 hour from Xiaojin County. We drove the Baojin Line the day before, and the scenery is also stunning. Accommodation: Xiaojin Snow Mountain Habitat Hotel (P16-18, we stayed in a homestay tent room, clean and fully equipped for dogs) Scenic area cost: Environmental remediation fee + shuttle bus ticket total 60/person, parking lot 20 yuan/car, after purchasing tickets on site, wait at the entrance of the scenic area to take the shuttle bus. Shuttle bus time: The first bus is at 8:30, the last bus is at 16:30-17:00, every half an hour, the single journey takes about 15 minutes. Play time: The scenic area plank road tour is about 3.6km, passing through 3 seas, less than 2 hours one way, and the plank road is relatively easy to walk. The last Moon Lake requires about 1.8km of mountain hiking to reach (high altitude hiking is recommended to prepare hiking equipment and dry food supplies), which takes about 2 hours one way. We haven't specifically visited the scenic spots in western Sichuan for a long time. In addition to some scenic spots having restrictions on pets, we prefer less crowded niche spots in western Sichuan and the beautiful scenery encountered along the way, free and surprising. So we are also very grateful to pet-friendly scenic spots like Majiagou, which give us the opportunity to experience different beautiful scenery with our dogs.
