Ten-thousand Meters Sleep Buddha

万米睡佛，是中外驰名的弥勒菩萨道场，印江人民从善信佛，历史悠久，有许许多多佛教的美丽传说。位于印江峨岭镇甲山村的西岩寺，始建于宋乾德三年（967年），明嘉靖年间重建，毁于兵，清康熙十九年再建。这里有逐年优化的自然环境，也有“敲梆岩畔木鱼响，佛光普照九龙环”的佳话。相传明代道人张三丰曾云游于此，以手指镌刻“山水嘉汇”四字于石壁，至今犹在。

万米睡佛指的是凤凰山，武陵山脉的最高峰，海拔2752米，比梵净山还要高，从空中俯瞰或从棉絮岭看过去，就像一尊大佛睡在哪里，所以凤凰山又叫大佛山。在明朝以前是朝凤凰山的，骑马抬轿可去，后来佛像飞过梵净山后，这里衰落了，现在山上还有庙基和石碑
