Turkey is absolutely amazing in September and October! It's a must-visit. — traveler post in Fethiye

Turkey is absolutely amazing in September and October! It's a must-visit.

Ladies!! Turkey's golden autumn is here! Avoid the summer crowds, the weather is just right, and the success rate for hot air balloons is super high! ☀️ 🌡️ Temperature overview: · Istanbul: 18–25°C during the day, cool at night, so bring a jacket · Cappadocia: 20–26°C during the day, only 5–8°C in the early morning! You definitely need a down jacket for the hot air balloon ride! · Mediterranean coast (Fethiye, Antalya): 24–29°C during the day, still warm enough to swim 🏊‍♀️ 📍 Must-visit attractions: 🏙 Istanbul (suggested 2–3 days) The romantic capital of Eurasia! · Hagia Sophia + Blue Mosque: The center of the Old City, go early in the morning to avoid the crowds! Remember to bring a scarf or shawl to enter the mosque, and wear long pants or skirts · Galata Tower: Head to the top at dusk for night views of the Golden Horn, perfect for photos 📸 · Basilica Cistern: The Medusa heads are super atmospheric; the ground is slippery, so wear non-slip shoes · Bosphorus Cruise: Be sure to choose an evening slot to chase the sunset! The fish sandwiches at the pier are also delicious · Balat colorful neighborhood: Colorful little houses and cat cafes, a must-visit for artsy travelers 🐱 🎈 Cappadocia, Göreme (2–3 days) The lunar landscape is no exaggeration! · Hot air balloons: Very high success rate in September–October! Depart in the early morning to watch the sunrise and fly over the Fairy Chimneys, but it's freezing in the morning, so bring a thick jacket and long pants! Book in advance, and it's best to reserve a 2–3 day window as a backup · Cave hotel terrace breakfast + vintage car tour, every shot is a masterpiece · Uçhisar Castle, Göreme Open Air Museum, Devrent Valley, Derinkuyu Underground City, ATV off-road sunset tour—there are too many activities to do them all! 🌊 Southern Mediterranean coastline (D400 highway) A coastal road you must drive at least once in your life! · Fethiye: The Blue Lagoon is stunning! You must try paragliding! September is perfect for swimming; October is a bit chilly but still great for photos · D400 highway: Beautiful mountain and sea views all the way, Kaputaş Beach and Kaş town are must-stops! Relaxing in a small town cafe is so cozy · Antalya Kaleiçi Old Town: The red tiles and white walls are so healing, check out Hadrian's Gate, and watch the sunset over the harbor in the evening 🧂 Pamukkale The white travertine terraces are ethereal! Walking barefoot in the thermal pools is super comfortable. Visit along with the Hierapolis ancient Roman ruins. Wearing solid-colored clothes makes for beautiful photos! But the ground can be a bit rough on your feet, so bear with it~ 🏛 Ephesus The best-preserved ancient Roman city! The grand steps of the Library of Celsus are iconic for photos! It's less crowded in September–October, so you can take your time strolling through the thousand-year-old marble streets. Renting an audio guide is recommended for a deeper understanding 🗺 Classic 10-day one-way itinerary: Istanbul → ✈️ Cappadocia → ✈️ Fethiye → D400 road trip → Pamukkale → Ephesus → ✈️ Return to Istanbul 👗 Packing guide: · Daytime: Short sleeves + long skirts + sun hat and sunglasses, vacation dresses are a must for the beach · Morning/Evening: Bring trench coats, hoodies, and light down jackets; the mornings in Cappadocia are freezing 🥶 · Mosques: Shoulders and knees must be covered, carry a scarf with you · Don't forget your swimsuit! You can still swim and soak in hot springs in September ⚠️ Practical tips: 1️⃣ The e-visa website is super convenient and issues visas instantly 2️⃣ Book hot air balloons and paragliding in advance during peak season, and leave enough backup days for weather 3️⃣ Hotels generally don't provide toothbrushes and toothpaste, bring your own! 4️⃣ The temperature difference between day and night is unbelievable, don't just bring summer clothes! 5️⃣ UV rays are still very strong, wear sunscreen even on cloudy days! 6️⃣ Remember to haggle at the Grand Bazaar! Buy a museum pass for Old City attractions to save time on queuing

Fethiye | Staying at my bucket list cliffside sea-view hotel, I was absolutely stunned by the beauty of the Mediterranean — traveler post in Fethiye

Fethiye | Staying at my bucket list cliffside sea-view hotel, I was absolutely stunned by the beauty of the Mediterranean

Come to Fethiye, Turkey, and discover this hidden gem of a hotel perched on a cliff. The view is breathtaking—open your door to the entire Aegean Sea. With a stunning infinity pool, it’s definitely a must-stay on your bucket list. The hotel stands high on the cliffs of Fethiye, overlooking the magnificent Mediterranean. The final stretch of the mountain road to the hotel is quite winding, so you'll need to arrange a private transfer with the hotel. But the moment the panorama of mountains and sea unfolds before your eyes, every bit of the journey becomes worth it. The hotel occupies a secluded private bay where the water is as clear as jelly. There are no bustling crowds here—just a tranquil coast that belongs to the guests. You can daydream facing the sea to your heart's content, sunbathe while feeling the salty sea breeze, and immerse yourself in the vast blue. It feels more like a hidden sanctuary tucked away in the mountains, far from the hustle and bustle of the city, facing the vast Aegean Sea with an unobstructed view. It’s far more photogenic than your average viral hotel; just snap a photo, and every shot is a bucket-list-worthy picture full of atmosphere. The guest rooms are all stone houses with a blend of South of France and Turkish style, and each one comes with a panoramic terrace. Lie in bed and open your eyes to the endless, healing blue sea. At sunrise, watch the glow spread across the water; in the evening, wait quietly for the sunset to dye the sea in orange hues. The scenery from dawn to dusk is so beautiful it leaves you speechless. Sitting on the terrace, feeling the sea breeze, and watching the waves roll in—doing nothing at all is healing enough. The infinity pool is built along the cliff. Soaking in the water, the mountains, sea, and sky blend into one. Watch the blue sky and turquoise sea intertwine, and enjoy the unique romance of being on the cliff.

The sea and sky feast of Fethiye — traveler post in Fethiye

The sea and sky feast of Fethiye

Fethiye has a jelly-colored sea that can heal everything and is recognized as Turkey’s “coastal holiday paradise.” When you come to Fethiye, be sure to experience the classic island-hopping tour, the most unmissable activity in this sea area. In the early morning, with the cool sea breeze, set sail on a pirate ship, gliding over the deep blue sea. The tour stops at several uninhabited islands along the way. The jelly-clear water has excellent visibility, and even those who don’t like swimming can’t help but jump in wearing a life jacket to feel the coolness of the Mediterranean. 🌟 Highlights: As one of the world’s top five paragliding bases, take off from the 2,000-meter-high Babadağ mountain and enjoy about 40 minutes of flight, with panoramic views of the coastline, islands, and canyons. 👍 Top recommendation: Ölüdeniz Blue Lagoon is known as the “Eden gifted by God.” The calm bay shows layers of rich sapphire blue water. It’s the paragliding landing spot, and a stroll along the lake offers wallpaper-worthy views at every turn. Butterfly Valley is a hidden beach accessible only by boat or hiking. It’s quiet and wild, a secluded spot away from the crowds. ⏳ Suggested visit time: Plan to spend at least three days here, with one full day for the island-hopping tour. 📝 Tips: Paragliding carries some risk, but the experience is amazing.

Oludeniz

Turkey's Dead Sea is located in Oludeniz, south of Fethiye. The Dead Sea in Fethiye is different from the Dead Sea in Israel. It is not the Dead Sea where no life can survive in the water due to high salt content. Instead, in Oludeniz, surrounded by mountains, the long and winding coastline divides the Mediterranean Bay into two. The Mediterranean Sea on the outside is turbulent, but the bay on the inside is calm and quiet, as if frozen, so it is called the Dead Sea.

Oludeniz Beach

This is a very beautiful bay, the sea water is blue, like a striking piece of turquoise. The Turks like the color blue very much, and their souvenirs are blue eyes, which are said to ward off evil spirits. Most of the beaches here are for locals to vacation. This beach is said to be a popular beach on the Internet.

Butterfly Valley

If you want to reach Butterfly Valley, you can only take a boat or walk down from a small village above. This village is called Faraya Village. There is a beautiful beach and a dense jungle canyon, which is very suitable for a slow walk. However, if you come by boat, since it is just an attraction on the way, the stay time is not long, but it is enough to walk around.

Amyntas Rock Tombs

The Lycian Sarcophagi in Fethiye are a group of cliff tombs with thousands of years of history. There are caves carved out of the steep cliffs, and the sarcophagi are placed inside. How these sarcophagi were placed there is still an unsolved mystery. This is also a famous historical site in Fethiye and is worth visiting.

Hanuman Paragliding Turkey

My husband and I flew at sunset. We absolutely loved it. It's only scary for the first two minutes, then you soar like a bird and enjoy it. Everything was perfect! They picked us up and took us to the mountain, explained everything, and gave our personal belongings to the pilot during the flight. We took wonderful photos. I highly recommend it!
