✨ Baku 2019 🇦🇿 | Futuristic Architecture & Caspian Sea Vibes
My 2019 trip to Baku was a unique blend of modern architecture, culture, and relaxing seaside experiences. The city immediately stood out with its clean streets, organized layout, and impressive skyline. One of the most unforgettable places I visited was the Heydar Aliyev Center, designed by Zaha Hadid. The building’s flowing, futuristic design is unlike anything I’ve seen before. Inside, the exhibitions were well-organized, and the underground car museum was a surprising highlight—perfect for anyone interested in design and automotive history.
Another iconic spot is the Flame Towers, which dominate the city skyline. They look impressive during the day, but at night they truly come alive with LED displays that light up the entire area. Walking around the city in the evening, especially near the boulevard, was a great experience with a lively yet relaxed atmosphere.
I also spent time by the Caspian Sea, visiting one of the beaches, which added a completely different side to the trip. The calm environment and sea views made it perfect for relaxing after exploring the city. Getting around Baku was easy with taxis and affordable ride apps, and most attractions are not far from each other.
Tips: Visit the Heydar Aliyev Center early in the day to fully explore it without crowds, and don’t miss the Flame Towers at night for the best views. Try local Azerbaijani food like plov and kebabs, which are both delicious and reasonably priced. Overall, Baku offers a great mix of modern innovation and cultural experiences, making it a very enjoyable and underrated destination.
