I'm not someone who likes to take photos of myself, but I couldn't help but snap away when I got here, it's so photogenic - the valley in early spring, the glass sunroom, the warm stove, the abundant negative ions, and the elusive Siguniang Mountain that appears and hides now and then. The homestay is aptly named 'Awaiting the Wind'. Staying here for two nights, I truly experienced 48 hours of viewing the snowy mountains. Sunny, overcast, thick clouds, morning mist, rain and snow, to see the mountains clearly, one must patiently 'await the wind'. Sitting and watching, eating and watching, lying down and watching, even waking up in the middle of the night to see, it's indescribable how dreamlike this experience is, perhaps this is what the life of immortals is like. 📷📷 Highlights: We stayed in a room on the third floor of the homestay with a 270° panoramic view of the snowy mountains, where you can curl up on the windowsill at any time, resting on the long stretch of time as the wind comes, with a comfortable sofa and tatami mats beside the bed, and a small wooden vase table designed by the window. The management within the scenic area is very strict, although it's not far, wandering around is basically not allowed. ♥️♥️ tips: 1. The altitude in Changping Valley is around 3300 meters, but each room in the homestay is equipped with a German brand oxygen machine, which is very practical. However, the season we came in was spring with blooming flowers, rich vegetation, and no altitude sickness. 2. The room facilities are very good, with comfortable sheets and duvet covers, Dyson hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, and skin moisturizer all available, and adjustable floor heating + window design ensures proper ventilation and warmth in the room. 3. Whenever autumn and winter come, I always think of the magnificent snow mountains in western Sichuan. The sunrise over the Golden Mountain, the ice and snow, and the colorful forest of Siguniang Mountain make it as beautiful as an oil painting. Departing from Chengdu, you can reach this beautiful scenic spot by self-driving for 4 hours. Siguniang Mountain has three scenic spots in total: Shuangqiao Gully, Changping Gully, and Haizi Gully. Among them, Shuangqiao Gully is the most worth visiting because you can take a sightseeing car all the way, which is convenient and fast. After getting off at the terminal, there are many stops to play, and each stop can be chosen at will according to personal preference. Recommended stops include: Sequoia Forest, Budala Peak, Siguna Co, Nianyu Dam, and Ginseng Fruit Flat. The easiest place to capture the beauty of the snow mountain in photos is at Budala Peak Station. A 20-minute walk uphill will take you to Zhugana Co, where the fir trees, lakes, meadows, and snow mountains are all very beautiful. When there is no wind, you can also capture the reflection of the snow mountain. Regarding the weather, although the colorful forest season has passed, Shuangqiao Gully is also very beautiful after snowing. The weather in winter is stable, making it easier to see the sunrise over the Golden Mountain. It is recommended to check the weather forecast in advance. If it is sunny the day after it snows, you must go, it will make people feel like they are in a fairyland. For accommodation, I recommend the Kongshan Homestay where we stayed this time. Mount Siguniang Scenic Area is located within the territory of Siguniangshan Town, Xiaojin County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, belonging to the Qionglai mountain range of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It consists of four continuous peaks, from Yaomei Peak (the youngest sister), the third sister peak, the second sister peak, to the eldest sister peak, among which Yaomei Peak has an altitude of 6250 meters, making it the second highest peak in Sichuan Province. The four peaks are covered with snow all year round. Due to the youngest sister's slender figure, it is known as the 'Queen of Shu Mountains' and the 'Oriental Alps', facing the 'King of Shu Mountains', Mount Gongga, from afar. The Mount Siguniang Scenic Area comprises Mount Siguniang, Shuangqiao Valley, Changping Valley, and Haizi Valley, with over 120 main attractions, 57 of which have been named.
