I stayed for 6 days, and it was my first time staying in an overseas hostel! Regarding amenities, nothing is provided, so you need to bring your own shampoo, body wash, etc. There are only showers. The cleanliness depends on the room you're in. My room was a bit messy because I was sharing it with someone who had been staying there for a long time. The hallway had boots and shoes from guests, but it wasn't inconvenient to walk through.
The communal kitchen and lobby were great for relaxing, which I really appreciated. There's also an exclusive guest area on the first floor where you can play games or eat. Since I was traveling solo this time, I didn't usually use it, but I found out about it when I had dinner with my roommate once. The reception staff were polite, energetic, and made for a pleasant experience.
It was also possible to store luggage after check-out; it was set up so you could put your bags in a luggage room yourself.

Place is old, and somewhat outdated, and u do hear the traffic from the freeway. But, for the cost for the night, which was $120, overall, it was good value for money. When I first arrived, as it was after hours, I dealt with the caretaker, who was friendly, and also helped me get into my room, cos I was having trouble with the door lock, which was my fault! I didn't use the kitchen facilities, except the fridge, but kitchen was equipped with enough items to be able to cook a meal easily. Bathroom was good, with shower over bath, (and big size bath too), so with not having a bath at home, I soaked for ages! I was informed before arrival, that only mini soap and toilet paper was provided, so I knew to bring body wash, hair conditioner, and other toiletries. Bed was comfy, and bedroom is quite large. TV maybe a little small, but the room had a couple of cupboards, and some hangers for clothes. Place was fairly clean, keeping in mind that it is an older property. Check out was easy, and I was met by a friendly receptionist behind the desk. I would definately stay again, if the price was as good, I'd just bring some earplugs for sleep, cos of traffic noise, which is no fault of the apartments of course!
It's OK, check-in went smoothly, it's a cost-effective accommodation in the area. Remember to check in before 7:30 pm, otherwise there will be no staff at the service desk to check you in.

The environment is top-notch: The public areas and overall decor are very stylish, creating a relaxed atmosphere perfect for photos.
The hygiene is excellent: The room was spotlessly clean, the bedding was fresh, and there were no unpleasant odors, making for a very comfortable stay.
Front desk service was average: The staff at check-in were a bit cold and didn't offer greetings or explanations proactively. It was pretty much a 'self-service' experience. If you prioritize hardware and hygiene, you can book this place without hesitation. However, if you highly value service experience, you might be a little disappointed.
I had a lovely stay at The Local Hotel. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. We had plans to spend a night on Rottnest Island before checking in for two nights at the hotel, and they kindly allowed us to store our luggage a day early. It was such a big favor and made our trip much more convenient. When we arrived, our luggage was already in our room, which was a nice touch.
The room itself was stylish and modern. We opted for a corner room, which had three large windows, filling the space with natural light. The lighting in the room was also well done, creating a pleasant ambiance.
Although the toilet and bathroom were shared, and there was some noise from the bar's music, the overall experience was enjoyable. These minor inconveniences were overshadowed by the positive aspects of our stay.
Overall, I think The Local Hotel as a lovely place to stay. We had a nice experience.
Was greeted quite rudely by a woman who snapped ”There are no vacancies”. Told her my name and she said a person of that name had already checked in. Told her my accommodation was already booked and paid for and showed her my phone with the information. Strange as ”vacancies” sign was up outside this establishment. Accommodation was quite good other than this person's abrupt greeting.
The room is nice, parking is convenient, there are many places to eat nearby, the back door can be opened for ventilation, there is also a swimming pool, and it takes less than ten minutes to walk to the pier, which is a good experience.

A nice hostel not too far from Perth city center. Good things I liked:
- Comfortable mattress, with a small curtain for a little privacy
- Staffs were nice and helpful
- common areas, kitchen, and showers/toilets were cleaned daily
- Plus point: Breakfast included (simple toasts with peanut butter/Jam/choc spread)
- Free coffee and tea (not the best quality but ok)
- near bus stop and grocery (Woolworths)
Not so good things:
- rooms are quite cramped
- no signage outside, bit confusing & hard to find for first timers
- Most of the furniture and kitchen facilities are quite old
- front porch & yard seems messy & unaesthetic
- Price-to-quality ratio: ok
The free breakfast, nice & helpful staff, kitchen space and social areas make this hostel recommendable. However, needs for hostel signage & revamping of all spaces & furnitures would make it a highly recommended hostel.
Booked double chalet as friends were there in a caravan as well! Cabin was really well kitted out with everything expected. I should have asked if there were any without steps to them and also using a mobility was difficult on the woodchip surrounds as a cement path would be easier to traverse the park. Site was large with good parking space. Could have more plates, cutely etc as cannot cater for any additional guests to visit for drinks or meals. Would recommend to all

GGuest UserThe reception staff are all incredibly friendly. They accommodate most requests, like towel rentals and exchanging bills for coins, and handle them quickly. Plus, with staff available 24/7, emails and other communications are checked promptly. The facilities were satisfactory, and there are many amenities nearby, so I highly recommend it for backpackers.

BBNYYGreat location at the heart of Albany, I drove so everywhere accessible, next door is a French patisserie, beautiful food and place.
Good public parking, limited private parking (so dense I must give praise to those who parked).
Despite the older infrastructure, it is well maintained and clean. I like how they ask for feedback.
Good free pancake breakfast, coffee and first 2 slices free.
Receptionist is live in, made it an easy check in at my late arrival.
KKaichi ChenThe owner is nice.
It’s more like a share-house, well arrangements with public areas.
Not crowded, it’s clean and comfortable.
People there are friendly like friends.
Suitable for short and long stays.

CChrispytThis place is great good value for money.
But I would think twice before staying here on a Thursday or weekend if you need to sleep which I did. As it’s packed on the weekend and then when pub closed patrons came back to their room and kept partying. When I asked people to shut up I was told basically to “go away” what was most annoying was apparently one of the people making noise worked at the roey. So although I still take the place I just won’t stay on weekends. But overall still good value for money and great service and nice rooms.
OOliverHBudget ”hotel” very close to the train station. Great location, but the building is really old. Can hear people talk next door and the ground make a noise what wakes you up every time. Bathroom was really clean and lucky free everytime I took a shower. Internet was okay and room himself acceptable. Just the check in time and need to pay for the locker is a joke on this price point. I must call from my foreign number to get anyone to open the door at 9am ...
Jjuney22It's a no frills hotel with no reception desk. You have to walk to the end of the hotel till you see a hollow entry and you will see the key cases with room numbers on the wall. No slippers provided, no shower gel only shampoo and conditioner provided. It's shared bathroom and there's a common kitchen with toaster and microwave. There's a mini fridge in the room. Overall ok for 1 or 2 nights stay.
GGuest UserIt's a hostel with private room with shared bathroom. We can self check-in and they'll provide a fresh sheet and quilt. For a towel, we should ask first and they'll provide. The location is amazing and accessible with Transperth Buses. The hostel also has a massive shared kitchen with complete utensils. Will be back again.
