This place is so relaxing to stay in! It’s a super nice little cafe with the rooms in the back through locking doors for easy access and security. The service is mostly seen outside your room as there isn’t much to be serviced inside, either way they were very friendly and helpful with menus in different languages and all that. The facilities for our room were all you needed, our “bunks” being cubby’s in the wall with lots of space and a locking compartment below for bags or valuables. The bathroom is tight compared to what I was used to in Canada, but it has your toilet, sink, and shower. What more do you need? Lastly the food was very very good, this was our first stay on our trip from Canada so maybe it’s normal here but it is so fresh and simply tasted awesome! Highly recommend!
The location of the hotel is the best! It is walking distance from the metro and from a well-known food market. The streets surrounding the hotel are packed with stores and restaurantes and easily connect to the iconic places (check out the pictures I attached). Let`s not forget the stunning mosaic-ornated church that faces the hotel. I strongly recommend it.
Simple, limited space. But it is still a nice place. One criticism is that they only have one towel per person, which has to be enough for everything, hands, face and neck, for bathing a little small, and they do not have a cup to help with oral hygiene.
Located in Porto (Centro / Baixa), Republica Boutique Hostel is within a 15-minute walk of Bolhao Market and Livraria Lello. This hostel is 1.4 mi (2.2 km) from Porto Historic Center and 1.2 mi (2 km) from Ribeira Square.

Make yourself at home in one of the 14 guestrooms.
The service staff is very kind and clear

And very close to the Blue and White Tile Church (Amas Church)
Next street is the main shopping street.
Will definitely stay again if there is a chance
We liked the hotel. The guys at the reception are friendly. There is a balcony, although there is no kettle. The room is a bit small, but not critical. The bed and bedding are fresh and good. The mattress is comfortable. There are sockets next to the bed. Very close to the center, we walked. The breakfast is normal, but there are no eggs, which is a minus, but we ate our fill of sandwiches, yogurts, and cereal. Advice for those staying, there is a huge food court a few steps away with a choice for every taste and budget. We went there for dinner every night to eat local seafood. It is called something like mercado bom sucesso
This double room with kitchenette is perfect for couples looking to stay in the city centre. It has everything you need for a pleasant stay. The property is close to various attractions, good restaurants and shops, and the João de Deus metro station is just 3 minutes walk, so guests can easily travel and explore the city!
It was a rainy day when I arrived in Porto and saw a very sad city, but it was still incredibly beautiful.
Susana, the person in charge of the hostel when I arrived, was the best part of the stay, kind, smiling, she reminded me that, even on days like this, the sun is always there. I will definitely come back.
Recommendation: always bring earplugs: choosing a female room to avoid snoring is a dream. We snore too😂
The staff are very warm and welcoming. They go out of their way to answer questions and help with anything. The common area is set up to encourage conversation, and the kitchen is well stocked. My room was big and the bed was very comfortable. I was on the 4th floor and the view was spectacular. Porto is a beautiful city.

Great
AAnonymous UserThe hostel is in a perfect location being right in the centre of Porto. The room and bed are decent. There are two bathrooms with shower in a room so it’s pretty nice. However, there is almost no water coming out from one of the shower and got some insect bites sleeping here ;( things are pretty great besides tha
GGuest UserLocation was good: close to Casa da Musica and the main Boa Vista roundabout. The apartment was clean and big enough for a couple nights of stay. The only issue we experienced was the door code system. When we arrived at the property on the first day, the main entrance door was open, exposing the building to theft. On the second day, we couldn’t open the main entrance door using the code provided. (The code worked on the first day.) We messaged the operator using their platform and received no reply. We called the operator but nobody answered the phone. Since it was raining, we walked to Casa da Musica to shelter ourselves from the rain. Then the operator called back and asked us to send a video of what happened of the door code. Since we left the building, we couldn’t take the video. Then they agreed to look into it. They sent us a reply saying that we refused to comply by sending a video. They subsequently asked us to ignore the message and said it was their internal communication and was sent to us by mistake, but it showed that they didn’t understand why we didn’t want to walk back to the building in the rain to take the video they requesed. After an hour of us raising the issue with them, they finally sent someone to open the main entrance for us. The person said the entrance code issue was not new! It was a very bad experience and we wasted an hour. We would seriously reconsider staying in a place managed by this operator.
GGuest UserI stayed at Pensao França Hostel and overall had a good experience. The hostel is clean, although the room size is quite small, which is typical for backpackers. They provide both small and large towels, as well as body soap and hand soap.
There was a slight urine smell when I first arrived, but it disappeared after the bathroom was used. The bathroom has a shower with both hot and cold water available. The room is also equipped with a fan.
A microwave and an electric kettle are available for shared use on the second floor. The hostel has three floors and no elevator. The owner lives on the second floor and is very kind and friendly to talk to.
Since the hostel is located near restaurants and bars, there can be some noise from outside. However, once the windows are closed and especially when you are tired, it is not too disturbing.
The location is very convenient, as it is within walking distance of Porto city center.

GGuest User5 min walk from Bolhao station, opposite legendary porto hotel. Conveniently located near Sao Bento station. Drinks machine with coffee for 70 euro cents. No fridge. Half door for shower. Bring own hair conditioner and bedroom slippers
VVirus-97Arguably the best hostel experience ever. From the check in to the free breakfast and lockers. The bed was super comfortableand the shared bathrooms had enough privacy. I could leave my bags before check in for free. Walkable to the main attractions and close to the main shopping area. Definitely changed my mind about hostels.
GGuest UserIt was so beautiful and insanely good!
We stayed in a dormitory with a mix of 6 people. The room has a locker with a key, two separate toilets and two showers. The hair dryer is also very good. You can also use the shared kitchen and refrigerator.
The staff was very kind and helpful.

GGuest UserStaff was very nice and incredibly helpful. Room was very clean and had nice, well working amenities. Location nearby to public transportation and small markets/grocery stores. A nice walk into the center and various landmarks for those who don’t mind/enjoy longer walks.
