Mirachoro Carvoeiro

Just back from a week at wonderful Mirachoro Carvoeiro. Delighted with our room and the huge balcony with the sea visible in the distance and the setting sun.( we had requested this view and management very kindly were able to facilitate it on this occasion) Loved the quality of the bed linen though the mattress was a bit like a seesaw 🙂All the staff were really very pleasant . The Breakfast food tasted very good. The Hotel is spotlessly clean. The pool area very pleasant. The location is brilliant. 7 mins downhill and 10mins uphill ( a little bit of a climb) to a beautiful beach with fresh Atlantic water to swim in and the main town. Plenty of restaurants close to the hotel and in the town. We really loved our stay and definitely hope to return.
Carvoeiro Garden Hotel

The room is large and quiet but the boxes are old and dirty gardens with locked parts. The balcony is large but dirty and needs a update in the painting. The bathroom is good but with strong smell from the rack. The room is large and it would be good to have a supplement waste because it only has in the bathroom and in the kitchen. The mini kitchen has a good fridge but the boxes and pia are very old, with a strong smell. I missed detergent and bubble in the kitchen. The room level would justify having a Nespresso, it would be very good. The good point are towels of excellent quality in both the room and the pool. The area of the pool is beautiful, well-cared garden and top chairs to sleep. The bar is interesting, but I didn't use it because I found the prices a little cheap. We have dinner one day at the hotel, I don't recommend it, it's buffet service and the food wasn't good, it was expensive.

In short - you get what you pay for. Single bed are slightly uncomfortable and the sofa bed isn’t suitable for adults. Apart from that it was good. As a full review - We travelled as a self catering family of 4 ( 2 adults and 2 boys 7/9 ) at the beginning of August. Our flight was delayed also we only arrived at 2am so as you’d expect nothing was open The night guard didn’t speak English but we got our keys and went to appt 25. We were met with 2 small single beds and what I can only describe as an old, small sofa bed which uses the back and seat cushions as a mattress. My wife and I would not both get on the sofa bed comfortably so she stayed with the youngest and I took a single with our other lad. The pillows as people have said are thin and useless. The bathroom and kitchen were all good and clean apart from ants on the sink and in the main hall. On the 1st morning I asked about the beds and was told by reception that it met the ‘minimum standards’ and to get another bed would be €40 per night. They then discounted this to €20 per night, but I refused. You have to book a double room appt for a would bed too. We spoke to the Jet2 guide at the resort that day and he was able to secure a free single bed for us, this turned out to be a small camp bed! The rooms were cleaned most days and towels changed, loo roll added etc. The Intermarché is only a mile away and is an easy walk, an uber back is between €3-4 - there’s no food store on site but the restaurant seems pretty decent. If you need sun cream it’s €20 for factor 50 at the resort, or €12.50 in the Intermarché. Grab a sponge and kitchen roll for the kitchen. The bar guy during the day is really friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced for a holiday. €4 a pint, €6 for a mixed fruits cider. The main pool isn’t as big as it looks in the pics, it’s about 25m in length ( the same as a uk baths ) but is big enough for those staying here. The kids pool is just a paddling pool. There are also plenty of beds and there’s no requirement to throw a towel down before 9am. There’s some light entertainment through the day for kids. But not much. The odd face painting, water polo and bingo. There is a shuttle down to the beach and back a few times a day, early morning is packed so we went 2-5pm Smilers bar in Carvoeiro has sky channels and friendly staff who will put a game on for you if you enquire. *** They only take cash**** So. Long and short like I said. Couple of days left here. A decent cheap self catering holiday which would have been better if the beds were sorted and updated. Enjoy

Go to the Benagil cave, about 10 minutes by car. The whole hotel is similar to a small resort. It was a bit similar to the one I stayed in Las Vegas. The living room is very large. I did not try the restaurant and the pool. The front desk was very welcoming and cost-effective.
Rocha Brava Village Resort

Advantages: This is a relatively large and beautiful resort, with two-story bungalows inside. It has different indoor and outdoor swimming pools, 2 restaurants, and a supermarket. The price/performance ratio is very high. I lived in a 2-room apartment with an independent kitchen and terrace. The bathroom is in the middle of the straight line between the two rooms, which plays a role in sound insulation. The room itself was quiet and spacious. There are several deck chairs on the terrace. The kitchen has an oven, electric kettle, microwave and refrigerator, which is very convenient. Disadvantages: The cleaners clean the room only once every two days. It takes 7-8 minutes to walk from the hotel entrance to the room. Only when you first check in, there is a battery car to take you off (free of charge), because the guests brought their luggage.

An absolutely fabulous resort. Set in the hills around Carvoeiro. The Villa is spotless with excellent housekeeping daily. This of course is such a nice treat. The staff on the resort are really friendly and helpful. We had a car but using 'Bolt/Uber' is so cheap. The Itermarche supermarket in about a 10 minute drive. A small local shop has fresh bread but go early to get it. This shop is a little expensive. There is a bar onsite which is lovely and some local bars which are small and cheap. 2 local pizzerias. Food onsite is really good too. Pools are lovely. Gym is basic but the lovely 'Nancy' makes up for it with classes from Monday to Saturday. This was a lovely unexpected bonus. Would recommend this resort.
