The hotel check in is in Kyoto, staying here in Takashimaya, the hotel will send the luggage to the room. The bell hotel has two houses in Takashimaya, South and North. The biggest highlight is that the shutters in the living room are open to Takashimaya, and you can sit by the river for breakfast. The room has cookers and microwaves. The room is located on the edge of the four gardens, shopping and sightseeing are particularly convenient. It should be noted that the room is all wooden, so the sound insulation is not very good. If there are noisy pedestrians, roaring engines or heavy rain at night, you will hear it clearly.

Although the soundproofing isn't great, the overall space is very comfortable, especially considering it's a century-old house. It has a small courtyard and a convenient washing machine and kitchen where you can cook. I'd like to stay here again next time.
Very satisfied with the stay experience!
Location: Very close to Kamogawa River and Kyoto Imperial Palace. You can enjoy the scenic spots on foot. However, there are less delicious food in the surrounding area because it is not in a bustling area, but it is only a few kilometers away from the downtown area.
Environment: Very stylish, renovated old wooden house. I live in the largest room No. 1. If possible, I will definitely choose this room. It is larger than the others. There is a shoe-changing porch on the first floor. The living area is on the second floor. The balcony can be directly accessed. See the Japanese garden. I have to praise the courtyard, it is very beautiful and it is very comfortable to sit in the courtyard and have a drink. The room is very big. I love the wooden bathtub with a view and the Japanese-style living room. I feel like it's a waste to stay here.
Service: The service attitude is great, but remember not to bring children under 12 years old‼ ️This is not obvious on the hotel reservation page. My friend brought his seven-year-old child. Fortunately, there was a Chinese-speaking front desk person who helped contact the manager to accommodate. We can check in, but the children cannot go to the restaurant area downstairs. Speaking of restaurants, my favorite is from the afternoon to 10pm, so! have! liquor! water! waived! fee! Are you really not afraid of an alcoholic like me?
The only drawbacks are: the sound insulation is a bit poor, and the sounds from the street in the morning can be heard very clearly. Furthermore, the door frames are generally very low, and anyone over 1.7 meters tall may bump their heads. I bumped them twice a day on average. But don’t blame the hotel, that’s what Japanese architecture is.
Will come again!

Very cozy house, clean and bright. Loved the bath! Internet works well. The staff of this hotel chain are very polite and try to help with all your questions. We were taken from the registration point to the lodge in a corporate taxi. The beds are very comfortable and soft, we slept on them like babies. The area where the house is located is quite quiet and deserted, so unnecessary noise did not bother us. We will be happy to come here next time!

Check-in at Kyoto Station... Also looking for, a little distance.
We didn't know until we arrived at the hotel door, but the store service was very good and the remedy was very timely.
The stairs are a bit steep and will not be a very good experience.

Our kids are grown, so my husband and I decided to take a trip to Kyoto by ourselves. We wanted to experience something unique, not just stay in a regular hotel. A guesthouse with shared bathrooms and forced social interaction was definitely out, and many luxury traditional Japanese hotels were just too expensive. The Rinn series became our top choice. The traditional Japanese-style room was spacious and comfortable, and the facilities were excellent: a bathtub, shower, washer/dryer, and a small kitchen. Honestly, I couldn't find a single fault. The only thing is, if you're staying for a longer period, you'll need to clean it yourself. I do wish there were more amenities; the two coffee capsules provided on the first day were gone quickly. I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Kyoto’s Long-Established “Sensan” – Delivered Shojin (Buddhist) Breakfas
Shojin cuisine is a traditional style of Japanese cooking rooted in Buddhist teachings. It avoids the use of meat and seafood, instead using only plant-based ingredients such as grains, beans, and vegetables. Seasonings are used sparingly to bring out the natural flavors of the ingredients, and great care is taken to minimize waste by utilizing all parts of the food.
Sensan’s signature “Iron Bowl Shojin Cuisine” is beautifully presented in a bowl shaped like a traditional begging bowl used by monks. Each dish features seasonal ingredients, reflecting the spirit of Zen and the refined traditions of Kyoto cuisine in a modern context.
Menu items vary depending on the season.

Front parking. There is an awkward kerb placed and reversing your vehicle might mount the kerb (not sure why it was badly placed there). Accomodation is lovely, modern redefined of a Japanese house. Bedding was superb. WC located on both L1 and L2 is a plus for us.

This hotel is located 12 minutes from Kyoto Station, a 7-minute walk to the world-famous Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine. If you use the nearest Keihan train, you can reach Gion-Shijo Station in about 9 minutes, and you can use it without changing trains to Nara Station or Osaka.

Ccopacopa**5-Star Review of Kyoto Homestay**
Our recent stay at this charming homestay in Kyoto was nothing short of magical! Located just a 10-minute taxi ride from Kyoto Station, it offered the perfect blend of convenience and tranquility. The host was incredibly welcoming, making us feel right at home.
The highlight was the traditional hotpot dinner, prepared with fresh, local ingredients. It was a delightful experience to enjoy such a unique meal in a cozy setting.
The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, reflecting the rich culture of Kyoto. We loved the serene garden view from our window. Overall, this homestay exceeded our expectations and provided a memorable Kyoto experience. Highly recommended!

Great
GGuest UserWhat a beautiful place! Kiraku Kyoto Honmachi is a house which has been refurbished with subtle taste and delightful creativity. There’s definitely magic to it! I loved walking on the pebbles in the downstairs bedroom - so soothing for sore feet. There’s also a smooth walkway to the bed if pebbles aren’t your thing. Upstairs there’s a tokonoma with scroll, as well as a full set of equipment for carrying out a tea ceremony, including of course, matcha. The host even had delicious matcha “financiers” waiting for us upon arrival. The outdoor bath is brilliant. It’s quite easy to fill and I’d highly recommend having an outdoor soak every night.
Seeing as some in our group weren’t up for tourism in the city, it was doubly worthwhile to have stayed in such a house where they could breathe in Kyoto atmosphere without ever moving from the tatami!

GGuest UserHighly recommended for getting authentic and unique experience of staying at the Japanese house. Great location, near to Shoji Dori, a huge shopping street, a short bus ride to Gion and metro station allowing to get to all historical attractions.
The home is really nice, with all necessary amenities, clean and roomy.
Want to specifically mention its interior decorations, really awesome.
Tourist tip: print out your reservation with the home’s address in Japanese to avoid any difficulties with finding your way to the location, you show it to the taxi drivers and they will find the place.
And special thanks to the Team: you are so helpful and friendly!

Very Good
GGuest UserStayed for 4 nights with my family (3 adults 1 child). House well maintained and amenities provided (toothbrush, comb, cotton buds, bath salt, facial wash, bath gel, shampoo, conditioner). There were pots and pans, condiments, and rice too. Fresco Supermarket, Family Mart, yoshinoya, yayoiken, and McDonald's were all within walking distance. Very quiet neighbourhood, which was a nice break from city life. My family and I enjoyed staying here, and I will recommend it!

Very Good
BbrownberryIt is a temporary but nice and spacious home in Kyodo. It is located in a very quiet neighbourhood, and the facilities are very good. The beddings on the tatami floor are so good that I slept like a baby for all three nights.
The only inconvenience is that there’s no cleaning service for my three-night stay, making the trash bins a bit messy!
But all in all, it is super great experience to stay in this lovely Japanese old house, with all the modern convinience such as floor heating, for a Kyodo holiday.
__WeChat41242****Traditional Japanese-style squatters, suitable for family stays, our group of 6 adults and 2 children is very suitable, although breakfast is not provided, but there are many convenience stores nearby, travel is also very convenient. If you check in, you need to go to Bell Kyoto Station. After check in, there will be a staff member to send you to the room. You can also store your luggage for free.

GGuest UserHighly recommended! A family experience that is very satisfying.
I am very grateful to my friend for recommending this Kyoto Machiya. The double-storey house can accommodate four of us, as well as outdoor baths. Although I only stayed for one night, I will definitely stay again next time I return to Kyoto!
GGuest UserThe stay was awesome, equipped with necessary kitchen appliances and cutleries, as well as toiletries. Interiors of the house was so beautiful and nicely designed! There were 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets, separated, which accommodates our group of 7 very well! The stay is very very near to Fushimi Inari!
