View from the apartment was amazing and just need to look through the window and you see the blue sky and ocean. Just that the apartment they gave us has 3 rooms and if you book 2 rooms they will locked up the one of the room. The issue is that when we checked in they just let the 3rd room open and we thought we could used it until the security guard came and knock the door and said he has to lock up one of the rooms.
Our stay in the Coast Suite was great! It had two separate rooms, which was perfect for our group as we had different schedules and didn't disturb each other. We shared a bathroom. The hotel facilities were complete, and toiletries were promptly replenished. We noticed the toilet was leaking after checking in, and maintenance sent someone to fix it right away. The Indian housekeeping staff was polite and enthusiastic, and the front desk receptionists were attentive and responsible.
A Studio apartment vibes, nicely renovated unit. Location is very good and central. Grab is affordable—around RM7–RM20++ to most places for 6 pax, and usually under RM30++ to the airport.
Walking distance to vegetarian food like 8 Morality Vegetarian Restaurant, desserts at Four Beans, and close to 1st Avenue Mall, so getting around is easy.
Unit is on level 29 with a nice Penang view. Morning sun comes in, but curtains are provided. Facilities are simple—a small gym and a swimming pool on level 36 with a good view. Security is good, with access card required everywhere, including your own floor.
Essentials are well provided: Steamer, hair dryer, fridge, and even a wok if you want to cook. Hot and cold water dispenser is available—this is a super plus point. Shampoo and body soap are provided; please bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste. Tv, ceiling fan and aircon is available. 4 charging points available at bedside. Table with 3 chairs for cozy lunch or quick bites. Grabfood very convenient, just collect it at the lobby will do. Check-in is at 3pm and check-out at 11am, which is reasonable. Instructions by MC Home are clear and easy to follow, as they are super responsive. A few small downsides: occasional plumbing smell near the lobby (around Bila Bila Mart, not inside the unit) - management should solve this and also no washing machine cum dryer is available, and the unit is close to the lift so you may hear some noise at night (once or twice — which is fine for us). The apartment is very new (completed mid-2025), so there may be some ongoing renovation works during the day. Still highly recommended! Had a good family staycation!
I wasn't expecting this level of comfort and amenities for this price.
The room was very clean and had everything you need, even an EV charger. I managed to get help from security to help access it. There's convenience store next to reception too, if you need to grab something.
The location is perfect too, it's a walking distance to many eateries and bar.
I'm not sure if this constitutes a negative but I find the parking very narrow. You'll need to make a few spiral towards level 4 and every point of the way, I felt I will probably scratch the car along the way. Even the turning once you reach the actual carpark is very tight.
'Office hotel'. Spacious space. Natural light. Got water dispenser on the outside corridor on certain levels. Clean and neat. Restaurant Nasi Kandar nearby. Most important thing is there's free parking. No hassle to think about overnight parking charge. But you need to get the parking card before the office close, and before you enter the parking floor.
The unit was clean and our host was responsive to our queries. Checking in was a breeze with the reception. The kids really enjoyed the pool. We could simply walk around to nearby shops and restaurants due to its convenient location. However, we had to wait a long time for one of the four lifts especially around noon time as many people were checking out. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay for us.
Staff was very proactive with all communications via WhatsApp from pre-check in, daily welfare check on guest and post-check out for feedback! I had some difficulty with my luggage and even though it’s my own issue, the staff did his best and assisted me all the way through!
Location of the accommodation is very much within walking distance of local food (dim sum & Bak kut teh) and international options like McDonalds, Starbucks, KFC, etc. A sizable mall is also across the road that has a nice supermarket, cafes, Mr DIY, Guardian, etc.
View from 19th floor was amazing and I’m very satisfied with the room’s amenities and facilities like the microwave oven, kettle, ceiling fans, air condition, shower, beds, etc. would love to be back if I’m ever in Penang again!
My family and I had a great stay here, though there is room for improvement.
The place looks and feels a bit dated, which adds to the charm, except for when the air conditioning makes loud noises that disrupt the peace. One of the mattresses in our suite was also a little worn, sinking in every time we sit on it. We have to admit that our suite was big and cosy for all of us, with strong WiFi connection and Netflix.
Moreover, the breakfast could be better. We opted for the stay with breakfast included, and we all were served the same Big Breakfast set. It would have been nicer to have options to choose from.
This place has potential and I might consider staying here again.
It has all the basic amenities needed but just no washing machine or USB power port. The location is ideal, just across the road there is a Family Mart at Caltex. Parking is a bit limited. The WiFi is a bit sketchy and sometimes it can lead to bad connection.
This hotel truly offers a special atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond; our names were even on a welcome board! We were upgraded and treated like VIPs. The general manager clearly fosters excellent hospitality. Even a waiter moonlighting as a village trekking guide made our experience unforgettable. It felt more like a home than a hotel. If you're looking for authentic warmth and connection, this is it!

MMiniA55The route to the hotel is a bit strange, but overall it looks good. But check the accommodation before coming.
AAnonymous UserWas looking forward to my stay in Penang but was left disappointed. Imagine entering the toilet wanting to take relief but was greeted by strands of hair floating on the toilet bowl unflushed. How awesome was that, especially knowing that I paid RM 200 + per night. There were 2 rooms in total, with 1 facing the corridor. I was shocked when my room was well lit with lights off at 3 am in the morning. Who, in their correct mind, would install shades with no coverage, knowing damn well that the lights over the corridor are on overnight. To make matters worse, the extra bed in the room was a hindrance to the door. That's the maximum I can open without lifting the edge of the mattress. Did I also inform you that the rooms are not soundproof at all? Noises from the corridor, the living room and even from the other room can be heard clearly. It's definitely a big no no for light sleepers.
While this may not be an issue pertaining to the homestay, I would also like to inform that the lifts are always packed, even during weekdays. We have no choice but to take the stairs down 14 floors after a 15-minute wait. So definitely plan well ahead if you have decided to stay here.
GGuest UserSpacious house, but indoor parking route a bit narrow for sedan car.. if mpv maybe become hassle to get to your designated parking space.. but sure, your can try ask their representative to give you parking space suitable for mpv.. Thanks Vivian for your hospitality.. Will repeat in the future..
AAlson01Great location I.e. very close to Gurney Drive. The apartment is spacious and very well equipped. Check-in and check-out process is very simple and easy.

TT.CruiseBooked this place as it is convenient for a family + extended member. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 toilets.
This is located at Jalan Jelutong area. Not so convenient. Transport is needed to anywhere. As the main gate of the development is situated in one end of the main road, even walking out to the nearest bus-stop takes about 10 minutes. It will be fine if driving there. Carpark is available.
Tried walking out from the estate. It took about 15min to walk to the nearby market/food street. Reasonable number of good local food stall available. There is also a pretty good local steam boat round the corner (also about 15 min walk from the estate).
The unit itself comes with basic supplies and a washing machine. When we checked in, there is a musky smell (maybe not used for sometime). One of the bedroom bedsheet and blanket was dirty and ants on the floor. Contacted the host, they acted quite promptly to rectify. Next, we realized the shower area ”ponded” after shower. Which is quite irritating. Again contacted the host, they responded promptly.
There is a few pools and a multi-level gym in the development on level 10. A good viewing area at level 42.
Another unpleasant thing is the lift. As the block has 40+ levels, the 3 (or 4, can't remember clearly) lifts is not effective and efficient enough. Moreover, the cleaning crews also use the same set of lifts, so they are inside, you can't even squeeze in with them even if you don't mind.
Overall, I won't use this place again.

AAsyraaf21Overall Experience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ (4.5/5)
Overall, I had a very pleasant stay at Citadines Tanjung Tokong. The check-in process at Level 2 was smooth and fast, with excellent service from all staff members. No deposit was required, which made the process even more convenient.
The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The bed and pillows were soft and provided a good night’s sleep. The room was well-equipped with two air-conditioning units (bedroom and kitchen area), Smart TV, ironing facilities, refrigerator, work desk, dining table and sufficient power outlets.
The bathroom was spotless with strong water pressure and consistent hot and cold water temperature. Toiletries and towels were fully provided.
Hotel facilities were great. The swimming pool on Level 15 offers a nice city and bay view. A gym, washing machines, vending machines and towels are also available. WiFi speed was fast and suitable for work purposes. Elevators were fast, clean and comfortable.
Minor downsides include some noise from traffic and ambulance sirens, as well as a slightly slow automated parking system during peak hours.
The location is very convenient with easy access to food and nearby stores such as 99 Speedmart, Lotus’s and Happy Mart.
Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money under RM500. Highly suitable for solo travellers, business trips and small families. Would definitely stay again.
