GGuest UserThe butler and proprietress here are incredibly warm and welcoming. When the butler heard we were going to the scenic area, he immediately offered to drive us there without a second thought. In the evening, the proprietress saw we hadn't eaten yet and invited us to join them for a home-cooked meal. That pot of cured beef was absolutely divine, with an authentic Hunan flavor. Breakfast wasn't limited to just a few items; you could order whatever you wanted. The toasted bread deserves special mention – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Paired with a cup of their signature berry tea, that's what a peaceful morning in the mountains feels like.
Stepping through the door, you can tell a lot of thought went into the design: solid wood complementing marble, high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, rattan furniture, and a splash of red chair, all harmonizing perfectly. The dried lotus pods in the hallway and the photos of peaks on the wall are all Zhangjiajie through the proprietress's lens – stone peaks in the mist, terraced fields in the morning. Wang Wei's line, ”White clouds turn back and gather, green mist enters and disappears,” suddenly made sense. Treehouses are built along the mountain slope; stepping out, you're enveloped by mist, leaves, and the scent of the mountains. This place feels more like a mountain retreat lovingly nurtured.
There are also thoughtful details that make you feel well taken care of: both a washing machine and a dryer are available, which is great because it's humid in the mountains, so you don't have to save clothes to wash at home. Toiletries, a first-aid kit, smart home features, and rattan diffusers in the room are all provided. The most remarkable thing is how clean it is – corners, crevices, bedding, everything looks spotless at first glance, and it remained that way even on our third day.
Our experience at Cloudland Garden during our stay in Zhangjiajie completely exceeded expectations. The scenery itself is free, but the feeling of being genuinely cared for is what this place provides. Next time we visit, we'll definitely stay here again.

For this trip to Zhangjiajie, we spent the first two nights enjoying a slow pace on the west side, then moved to the Guanzhi S B&B near the East Gate for the next two nights.
This B&B positions itself as a boutique hotel, not just a regular guesthouse. From the moment you step in, you know it's something special – an artist's entrance, with an artistic atmosphere permeating every corner. The details are meticulously crafted. Many guests here are international tourists and discerning travelers who appreciate quality. It's no exaggeration to say this is the most thoughtful and attentive service I've ever experienced.

The B&B is about 50 meters from the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, making park access incredibly convenient. However, because it's so close to the scenic area, it's located in a restricted zone. ⚠️ You MUST use Didi (ride-hailing app) to get directly to the B&B's doorstep. Plus, the hotel offers a 7-seater shuttle service, so transportation is a breeze for families. It's also easy to find restaurants after leaving the park, as the area around the East Gate is full of eateries.

We stayed in a bathtub king room. The room isn't huge but is exquisite in every detail. The bedding is comfortable, and a relaxing soak in the tub at night washes away all the day's fatigue. If you need anything, just scan the QR code by the bed, and it'll be delivered in minutes – a godsend for busy parents!

Forgot kids' toothbrushes, slippers, or shower gel? The B&B has it all; just ask the front desk, and they'll bring it to your room. There's also a 5 sqm kids' play area with a slide, building blocks, and a small rocking horse. Once the kids are in there, they won't want to leave.

WWodemengxiangshilvxingjiaManxin was the third boutique hotel I chose for my trip to Hunan. It's located in a village nestled in the mountains. The owner leased nearly a hundred acres of land to create the idyllic farm he envisioned. Several two-story buildings are artfully scattered amidst rice paddies and lotus ponds. An infinity pool offers unparalleled views of the distant mountains. The rice seedlings have just been planted, and in a few months, one can truly experience the scene described by Xin Qiji: 'A bountiful harvest is spoken of amidst the fragrance of rice flowers, as the croaking of frogs fills the air.'
**Environment:** The hotel's environment is exceptional. Surrounded by distant mountains, perched on a gentle slope, every room offers expansive views of lush greenery. The rice fields are close by, and at night, the sound of frogs fills the air. Each room boasts a large balcony. Sitting there, breathing in the fresh mountain air, sipping a cup of tea or coffee, time seems to slow down.
**Hygiene:** The hotel's hygiene is top-notch. Despite being surrounded by farmland, there are surprisingly no mosquitoes or other insects in the rooms, which is quite rare.
**Facilities:** As a meticulously crafted guesthouse, it offers all the amenities of a high-end hotel, especially the infinity pool with its unbeatable mountain views – truly an inspired touch. Of course, as a 'wild luxury' (my own definition) hotel, to encourage guests to truly reconnect with nature, the rooms intentionally lack televisions. This thoughtful decision is commendable!
**Service:** Being far from the city, service is particularly important for guests. The hotel provides dedicated butlers who promptly address guests' questions and requests. Their efficiency is high, usually responding to guests almost immediately. The hotel offers complimentary airport/train station transfers, as well as unlimited complimentary transfers to the Zimu Pass (middle gate) of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, which is incredibly helpful for guests.
**In summary:** This is a uniquely positioned hotel. For travelers who love nature, appreciate peace and a slower pace, and have high standards for hotel quality, this hotel is definitely worth a short stay.
**Final Suggestion:** Given its rural location, its own farmland, and the fact that it raises poultry and bees, the hotel should further leverage its unique advantages in terms of ingredients and cuisine. It could also appropriately guide local farmers to cultivate organic vegetables, fruits, and various eco-friendly produce, making a beneficial contribution to rural revitalization. I believe some guests would appreciate this.

GGuest UserThe environment is fantastic, with mountain views right outside the room. You can tell a lot of effort went into the landscaping—kudos to the owner. The B&B is an 8-minute drive from the East Gate, and the complimentary shuttle service makes getting around super convenient.
The service was excellent too. The rooms were spotless, and they offer laundry and drying services. They also provide pick-up and drop-off at the train station (the vehicles are all very new!). The on-site restaurant serves delicious food with very fresh ingredients.
There are quite a few international travelers staying here. It has a genuinely authentic Chinese style, beautifully designed, and is perfect for a relaxing vacation.

We stayed 2 nights in the Morning Glow King Suite Bedroom. The highlight of this homestay is its cave concept. The reception area is huge, impressive, and beautifully designed, creating a real wow factor upon arrival.
The property also features a cave restaurant where breakfast is served, and dinner can be arranged with advance booking. There is also a cosy cave lounge for guests to relax.
Our room was large, comfortable, and very clean. The facilities were well maintained and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing.
Location is excellent. The homestay is hidden behind the famous theatre performance venue but only a short walk to the main street, making it convenient while remaining quiet.
Highly recommended for travellers looking for a unique accommodation experience in Zhangjiajie. The cave setting alone makes it worth staying here.

Its location is a major advantage—very close to the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and just a short drive to Baofeng Lake Scenic Area, making getting around and sightseeing extremely convenient. Tucked away in a quiet spot amidst the hustle and bustle, the guesthouse features its own vegetable garden in the courtyard. You can see rolling distant mountains the moment you open the window, creating an immersive, rustic mountain atmosphere.
The guest rooms are spotlessly clean, with meticulous attention paid to hygiene details. The room amenities are thoughtfully chosen, featuring De Rucci mattresses paired with goose-down bedding that is soft and comfortable. There is also Evian bottled water and high-end toiletries, making it a wonderful experience to come back and rest after a tiring day of hiking.
The owner and their family are warm and attentive, offering free pick-up and drop-off services throughout the area. They also helped us customize a complete Zhangjiajie travel itinerary based on our schedule, patiently explaining the attractions and ticketing details, which saved us a huge amount of hassle in planning.
The guesthouse is packed with facilities, including a mountain-view swimming pool, a calligraphy room, a KTV, and a tea room. During downtime, you can sip tea in the courtyard, practice calligraphy, and quietly take in the mountain views. The restaurant is headed by a professional chef; breakfast can be customized upon request, using fresh ingredients and delivering outstanding flavors.
From the hardware, cleanliness, service, and dining to the facilities, everything is exceptional. Whether you are entering through the East Gate of the Forest Park or visiting Baofeng Lake, Huanglong Cave, or the Grand Canyon, it makes the whole trip worry-free. Highly recommended! The next time we visit Zhangjiajie, we will definitely choose to stay at Cangshan Shadow Villa again!

The service attitude was acceptable, but the breakfast lacked variety in fruits and they weren't very fresh—this definitely needs improvement. The restaurant they recommended was fantastic, and we even got a discount.

GGuest UserCool property! It’s an old building, so insulation is not existing, so keeping the climate nice it’s a bit of a balance. But the stay is absolutely unique and the location could not be better. Yes, you don’t have a direct view on the waterfall, but you don’t need that when you are in this town. You get it from all the restaurants and from the walking around. The view from this hotel is also absolutely fantastic, to the bridge and to the village. The rooms are spacious and the staff is very nice. We will come back.

TTianzaigaowodekuailezhishangI had a great stay at the Yujie Hotel during my visit to Zhangjiajie. The hotel has a clean and grand ambiance, with a bright and tidy lobby. The corridors and common areas are tastefully decorated, making me feel very relaxed. The location is also a big plus, not far from the scenic area and major attractions in the city, making travel convenient. It's also easy to find places to eat and buy local specialties nearby, and accessible whether you're taking a taxi or driving.
The room facilities are relatively new, with well-functioning air conditioning, hot water, TV, and Wi-Fi. The bedding was just right in terms of firmness, allowing for a very comfortable sleep. Breakfast is worth commending; there was a rich variety of dishes, including hot food, pastries, fruits, porridge, noodles, and more, all tasting good. Eating a full breakfast before heading up the mountain gave me plenty of energy. The front desk and service staff were enthusiastic and efficient, responding quickly to any issues.
The only thing I felt could be improved was the cleanliness details.
Overall, it's excellent value for money. I would consider staying here again on my next trip to Zhangjiajie and would recommend it to friends planning to visit.

GGuest UserOriginally booked a twin room, but upon arrival, I was upgraded to a suite. I was totally blown away—I've never stayed in such a huge room before! (Wondering if I can still get a free upgrade next time haha 😁)
Cleanliness and comfort were both top-notch.
I want to especially highlight the service. The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service to and from the scenic area (about 2 km one way to the South Gate/Biaozhimen), one round trip per day. Such a thoughtful touch! It made my wife exclaim, ”The competition in the hospitality industry is fierce these days!”
Breakfast was decent, and the view from the 4th-floor outdoor area is lovely (Photo 1).
Plenty of parking spaces downstairs, including slow chargers (EV-friendly), and fast chargers nearby as well.
The front desk helped us book attraction tickets and show tickets, and even mapped out a great sightseeing route for a first-time visitor like me.
Kudos to the young staff at the front desk! Both the day and night shifts were wonderful. Oh, and the cleaning lady greeted us with a cheerful ”Good morning” every day. You can really tell the staff are well-trained and genuinely professional!
PS: I originally booked 2 days, but also used my wife's account to book an extra day just in case. Turns out we needed it, and the hotel let us keep the same room for the extension 😄. Total score! Haha.
If I bring my mom here next time, your hotel will definitely be my top choice!
