The environment and design of Wantoo B&B are warm and comfortable, and the coffee shop in the courtyard has a very romantic ambiance. The rooms are clean and cozy, and the breakfast is well-balanced. The owner, who prepares breakfast, mentioned that the breakfast menu changes daily, but unfortunately, we only stayed for two days, and indeed, the breakfasts were different on both days. The front desk lady had an excellent service attitude. Since there aren't many supermarkets in the old town, it's hard to find fruit, but she kindly gave us apples and pears. The B&B offers free bicycles and tricycles, and spending a day cycling freely around the old town was truly delightful. It was a genuinely great experience.

A rather mediocre experience. I've been a Ctrip member for 15 years and rarely leave bad reviews, so I'll give this a passing grade of 3.0. The main reasons for the average experience were: 1. My baby had a fever in the middle of the night and couldn't get up the next day. I wanted to take some breakfast back to the room, but they wouldn't allow it, and the staff's attitude was quite stiff. At over 1700 RMB for two nights for three adults and one child, the price wasn't cheap. Since the hotel couldn't be understanding towards me, I can't be understanding towards them in my rating. 2. There must be floor heating or central air conditioning, because the room was extremely dry, even drier than indoors in Beijing during the heating season.

I booked this hotel in advance for our May Day holiday trip to Taiyuan. It's an established five-star hotel, and both the facilities and service are top-notch. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. It's super convenient to get to, right outside Exit A2 of Changfeng Street Station on Metro Line 2. Plus, it's next to Tianmei Xintiandi, a bustling commercial area, and taxis are always easy to find. We visited Zhonglou Street, Liuxiang, Jinci Temple, Tianlong Mountain, and the Shanxi Museum, and honestly, there's nothing to complain about except that some of the furniture feels a bit dated compared to newer hotels. Otherwise, it offers great value for money. I'll definitely stay at Kempinski again next time I'm in Taiyuan.

My friend and I really enjoy staying at this hotel, great hospitality from the reception lady. The room is great, very comfortable bed and everything is clean. Our room is on the first floor. We will choose this hotel again when we return. For those who choose to stay at this hotel, I strongly recommend you use the pick-up service; the fee is only 50RMB, very reasonable. We had a great time in Pingyao; unfortunately we had to shorthen our stay to just one night instead of three as initially booked, due to train ticket to Xi'anbei being sold out on my initially planned third-day stay so I had to leave earlier.

Although the hotel is old, it's clean and tidy, and even the toilet is electric. However, the bathroom ventilation is really poor, so those prone to an upset stomach should be careful. The online rumor that guests don't have to wait for a table at the restaurant is false; you still need to go downstairs at 4 PM to get a number and wait until 5:30 PM for dinner service to start. The breakfast is indeed rich and delicious, and the coffee is freshly made by a dedicated barista. The bathing area, though small, is very clean. As soon as someone finishes showering, a staff member immediately comes to clean it. The only minor drawback is that the water in the hot tub was a bit too cool. The turndown service giving only one 'Crispy Shark' snack for two people was confusing. Overall, it's good. The location is superb, and you can walk to all the major attractions.

As a frequent guest at five-star hotels, if I had to be picky, I'd say the pillowcases and duvets could be ironed a bit flatter, haha. Environment: The location is excellent. After my flight, I took the subway to Taiyuan University of Technology Station and a short taxi ride. Taiyuan's Metro Line 1 is fantastic, comparable to new lines like Shanghai's Line 14! Service: The WeChat group service and concierge service were very responsive and accommodating. The afternoon tea pastries were quite good, too, heehee. ”Ultimate Enjoyment” Freshly Ground Coffee: The staff member was very friendly, and I tried a couple of sips of the coffee. ”Pleasant Enjoyment” Double Afternoon Tea: The small pastries were nice, and they were served with Pu-erh tea.

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the snack street, Bell Tower shopping area, and Liuxiang commercial district, making shopping and dining incredibly convenient. The Jin Merchants Museum (former Governor's Mansion) is also within walking distance of the hotel. The thoughtful touches like the 'Cozy Teahouse - Afternoon Tea Time' (including a pot of tea) and the coffee were much appreciated. We also enjoyed the 'Immersive Experience: Journey through a Jin Merchant Mansion with Free Young Mistress Attire'. Plus, there's a very friendly cat named 'Facai' in the hotel lobby!

And even though the hotel is in a bustling area, the soundproofing in the rooms is incredibly effective. It's quiet despite being in the middle of everything, so my rest was completely undisturbed. The service was equally impressive. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff greeted me with smiles, processed my check-in very efficiently, and even thoughtfully asked about my travel plans, offering tips for local sightseeing. Seeing me with luggage, they proactively helped carry it to the elevator. It’s these small details that truly show their dedication, and this just-right level of warmth made me feel incredibly welcome. (The front desk gentleman who checked me in that day was very patient, though I didn't catch his name.) Now, about the room experience – it truly surprised me. The room was spacious, well-laid-out, and had fantastic natural light. The bedding was soft and gentle on the skin, and there were multiple pillow options. As someone who values good sleep quality, I had a wonderfully restful night. The cleanliness was impeccable; every corner was spotless. The wet/dry separation in the bathroom was also a thoughtful touch, and the toiletries were of good quality. You can really tell the hotel pays attention to details. The breakfast also deserves praise. The restaurant environment was elegant, the ingredients fresh, and dishes were refilled promptly.
