Very Good
GGuest UserDecided to have a night out to a hotel to escape the house, and bought this trip last minute over Xmas. Loved the hotel, we had a great view of the bridges from our room.
We didn't try the food but the bar is pretty cheap considering it's a Doubletree location. Only around £5 a pint.
GGuest UserThe hotel has won some awards and is very local. There are no tour groups and even other Asian tourists. There is a small English garden, which is very beautiful. Sitting in the sun room to eat breakfast and dinner and looking at the distant scenery is really worth the trip.
We drove to the hotel by ourselves, so we didn't feel any inconvenience. There are also some small shops and restaurants nearby.
The hotel is not located in the center of Edinburgh, but it takes less than half an hour to get to the city center by car. For drivers in China who are often stuck in traffic, it is a piece of cake.
The public transportation is not very clear, and it is estimated that it will be available if you look for it.
GGuest UserThe hotel was clean, but I booked a double bed room to share with my sister on trip.com and when I paid and got a confirmation that it’s a double room it was not refundable . When I contacted the hotel they said that because they did not have twin rooms available it reverted the booking to double in the system. I contacted trip.con to cancel the booking they said that it was non refundable booking, I explained that it was their system that made the error and not me, the agent said I will contact the hotel and check if they can accept a refund, she got back saying that they have refused and trip.com could not help. I was furious and I had to go and sleep on the sofa bed and this was uncomfortable also the heating was doing some tapping sound as I am light sleeper I could not sleep properly at all.
SShepShepThe trip was great, comfortable beds and a terrific shower. The breakfast was tasty and staff friendly. I’d really recommend the breakfast as it’s a buffet style for tea, coffees and pastries. I’d stay there again the next time I’m in town!
GGuest UserThe hotel was very reasonably priced as we didn't want to stay in Edinburgh as it's not worth the money. The room was spacious enough. The electric heater on the wall took time to figure out. Maybe a guide on how to work it could be left at the table. The bathroom was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The TV was big but not all stations worked. The room despite having a few lights still felt very dark. The breakfast was lovely. The seating area felt crammed into eachother. They should use the seating area at the bar as well for breakfast to rectify this. Would I stay here again? I would, yes as long as they keep the price reasonable and with a free breakfast.
CCMarieP86A lovely building and entrance, including a lovely garden and fountain. Very clean and classy, reception staff friendly and helpful. Room was fantastic, so modern and clean with plenty of floor space and storage. Big smart tv, hair dryer, iron and board, free mini toiletries, tea/coffee, full length mirror…couldn’t have asked for more at such a reasonable price for the room! Only thing was the room felt extremely hot when I first checked in (even though radiator was not on). I asked at reception if I could have a fan as windows barely open and a few minutes later it was brought to my room! Restaurant and bar great, breakfast lovely…highly recommend this hotel
GGuest UserThe most surprising hotel during the trip to Scotland. On the first day, a white guy at the front desk was very enthusiastic and patient. On the second day, I met a black girl who could speak simple Chinese and was very enthusiastic to help us communicate and book the golf course. The waiter in the Italian restaurant was also very good and very enthusiastic. I originally only stayed in the hotel for one night, but decided to book another night on the second day. The overall experience was great. Thank you
GGuest UserSpacious and modern rooms, comfortable beds. Regular cleaning, savory breakfast to order in the restaurant, very reasonable prices for catering, friendly staff. No hair dryer and bring a shower cap because the shower head is high and fixed. Very quiet and well-insulated hotel. Excellent value for money
ZZhangsanfengdesanfengNext to the golf course, this is an old hotel. It is clean, but very old. The hot and cold water in the taps are separate. The hotel also provides heating in the summer evening, so it is very quiet. There are many small animals to walk around and meet unexpectedly. It is suitable for self-driving. There are also bus groups staying. The surrounding environment is very good, there is a lawn suitable for weddings, and the sunny breakfast restaurant is also impressive.
GGuest UserThe location was wonderful, just at North Street and not far from Scores, the city T2 social, the city centre, all the restaurants.
We were so lucky with the weather, and managed to have a round of golf at the New Course.
the rooms were big and nicely heated. I managed to get the corner room and have great views of the streets. It was well ventilated and the noise on the street did not affect me.
