"Very good hotel, excellent location, large public areas and very warm feeling. The room was the largest we stayed in Iceland and could easily spread out 2 boxes. Opposite is the lighthouse, the weather is clear, you can see the aurora directly from the window (sea view room can, the other side will have the light pollution of the airport). The hotel drives 10 kilometers to the airport and will pass a small town."

The rooms are spacious. There's an airport shuttle service available for 700 ISK per person, which is very convenient for guests. Iceland is quite open and there isn't much to do nearby. The room rate is not cheap.

Due to extreme weather, my flight was canceled, and I was stuck at the airport. I found this hotel last minute. The room was very spacious, and the facilities were new and clean. The only minor drawback was the lack of disposable slippers, but that's a common issue with hotels in Europe. Luckily, the room's carpet was clean and tidy.

The hotel is a converted barracks left by the US military. It has two floors and an elevator that can handle luggage. It's clean and tidy, and there are taxis available at the front desk for airport transfers. We were on a tour; it seems inconvenient for independent travelers without a car.

We visited in late December 2025. - My child had high expectations for the duplex room, so we booked it and were very satisfied. - The front desk, breakfast area, and room service staff were all friendly and professional. - There's a heated pool on the second floor, close to the temperature of a hot spring, with an automatic lock when entering, and well-equipped changing and showering areas. (The Blue Lagoon is also nearby, so you can visit it.) - The view overlooking the pier and the city was beautiful. - It was quite crowded considering it was off-season. Even after many people checked out, all services, including dinner and breakfast, continued as normal, which was nice. The three-course dinner was delicious. - They offer their own airport shuttle service, so you can relax at the end of your stay and arrive at the airport on time, stress-free. - Just down the hill is the beautifully decorated Troll Cave. It's a great place to show off your kids or let them play rock-paper-scissors to get in on their own. (It's funny during the day, but scary after dark.) - Along the coast, there's an old fishing boat on display, and toward the city center, there's a nice Italian restaurant called Anton's Mamma Mia.

The address is a bit difficult to find, because the door is too small, almost thinking that I went wrong, it may also be the reason for the night. The sink is right at the bedside, not good. The room is also very narrow. A party next door in the middle of the night, did not sleep all night. No one guards, self-help, and dare not remind others. At night, I said that I sent an email to repair the pipe and there was no hot water. I didn't tell at 6 pm, it was too late. Said to repair for 3 hours, but there was no hot water until I checked out. The only advantage is that it is close to the airport and 7 minutes drive.

Friends, please steer clear of this place! As a Courtyard by Marriott, an international chain under Marriott, they have issues with unauthorized and duplicate charges. My prepaid booking already included the city tax, yet they insisted I pay it again upon arrival, which means I was double-charged. I only discovered this when I asked Trip.com to investigate other deductions after I returned home. This hotel also charged me in the middle of the night while I was sleeping. I found out when I reviewed my credit card statement after getting back. When Trip.com followed up, the hotel claimed I used paid Wi-Fi. That's ridiculous! I used the free in-room Wi-Fi, which is explicitly stated on Marriott's official website and as a member-exclusive service. I have no idea what 'paid Wi-Fi' they're referring to. Furthermore, after I checked out, this additional charge was never presented to me at the front desk nor sent via email; they just quietly deducted the money. It's outrageous. When I checked in, I asked if my Marriott Bonvoy number could be linked, and they confirmed it could. However, when Trip.com showed me the bill, it clearly showed that my account wasn't linked. It's an absolute mess. The room facilities and cleanliness were decent. But the service? It's so bad, it warrants a formal complaint.

The hotel is very close to the airport. It's great if you're catching a flight. The area around it is quite lively and has a lot of food. There's a bar downstairs. Foreigners like to drink, so sometimes the rooms near the bar can be noisy at night.

The hotel is quite good; the hygiene and facilities are excellent and relatively new. It's close to the airport, and they gave us a corner room which was spacious. We added an extra bed, and it was still quite quiet at night.

Clean but very small room. Window was rusted and could not be fully closed. Would be nice to have a few more shelves/racks. Excellent early breakfast for early flights.

Home resort hotel. If you want to enjoy the winter aurora viewing or the Blue Lagoon, I highly recommend this hotel with confidence. The rooms are clean and the food is very good. Above all, the customer service of the front desk staff is the best. Even at my home where I can't speak Icelandic or English, I was able to stay without any inconvenience.
