Hotels With Breakfast in Basque Country, Spain

L’accueil a été très long, plus d’une demi-heure pour traiter la réservation des personnes arrivées avant nous. L’hôtesse d'accueil, avec un t-shirt fortement taché, ne parle presque pas français, elle ne sait pas traiter les vouchers (abonnement B&B), elle semble perdue, souffle, elle est dépassée. Une fois sur place on nous annonce qu’il n’est pas possible de prendre le petit déjeuner sur place et la salle semble être en travaux (ce dont nous n’avons jamais été informé, ni en amont par mail ou lors de la réservation, ni sur place à l’arrivée). La chambre est très spacieuse, le lit très grand, il y a même des lumières d’ambiances et c'est assez agréable. Cependant cela ne permet pas d'oublier l’usure générale de la chambre. Quant à la salle de bain : la douche est très spacieuse mais il n’y a aucune pression dans le pommeau de douche, qui est lui même dans un état déplorable (tous les pics d'arrivée d'eau en plastique sont cassés et/ou moisis). Tout cela c’est sans parler de l’isolation des chambres qui est quasiment inexistante. Nous sommes déçus par notre nuitée.

We enjoyed our room which had a balcony although no seating. We did not notice noise from the busy street. The breakfast room had a lovely buffet and the bar area was cosy and enjoyable. Front desk staff were helpful in locating restaurants and showing us where everything was on a map. Our only downside was the parking stall designated to us was very, very tight for our rental vehicle. Overall we enjoyed the hotel.

Part of the hotel are also a cafe and wine bar. So why not a best possible recommendation? This is because the management cannot keep up with the expectations set by the place as such. I had booked the hotel in a stressful week with four different countries on my plate. I had hoped to get a bit of rest when I arrived. This is also why I asked whether I could check in early, but I received no reply. It turned out it was not possible when I later arrived. When I then later checked in and tried to have a nap, 15 minutes after I had entered the room, the room service knocked at the door and woke me up. There was also no doorsign to prevent this from happening. What is there to be done 15 minutes after handing over the hotel room? My rest was ruined. Also, the card did not work twice, and the assistant at the reception hardly spoke any English. This is unacceptable for a hotel room that costs over 200 Euros per night. I will not come back.

Fabulously clean, cute and cutting edge accommodations. Reception was friendly, multi-lingual and efficient. This is a nugget hotel, so not a lot of thrill. The lobby was on the small side but inviting. There’s an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet one can purchase (I did not) two elevators take you right upstairs. The hallways are cheeky and sweet. The room was small but as a touristy traveler that was fine. I don’t want to be in a hotel room. I’m out exploring. The bed was very comfortable and the whole room was spotless. Toilet and shower are separate which is helpful if there are two in the room. Highly recommend this place.

I must have been unlucky because we had a double bed and room was tiny (there is no way a queen or king size bed can be included in the room). The layout was very odd: room was very small but it had a wide entrance and sizeable showers and toilet which was as big as the room. The only positive was the balcony which was quite nice (and big!). The breakfast was quite nice with plenty of choices so we enjoyed that. The other positive was the nice rooftop pool and lounge which would be nice during a hot summer. The gym is pretty good for the hotel, you can get a good workout here. And the indoor pool/sauna is delightful. We spent a few hours here relaxing (and inclusive of hotel price). However,i would also say the location is not ideal for us. We only had 3 days and most of the attractions are located and tours in the old town which was 15-20min walk away, so as we spent a lot of time there with rests in between day and night, we spent a lot of time walking back and forth which became tedious after a few days. When I come back to SS i would likely find a hotel closer to the old town. This is just my recommendation though.

- The hostel was really nice but… our reservation was for a standard room for 8 people. We were travelling with 7 people so we thought we would be able to sleep in the same room. When we arrived they told us they split the people who reserved the rooms as they like. Resulting in 6 people of our group in the same room and one girl who had to sleep alone in an another room with 7 other random people. We told them and showed them multiple times that according to our reservation (and according to our conformation mail) we reserved a room for 8 people. We also told them that it wasn’t right to advertise the room as if we would be placed in the same chamber and then separate us into a room of 6 and one person who had to sleep alone. The only solution they offered us was putting a separate matras on the floor. So my advise would be: you can absolutely stay in this hostel but keep in mind that there is a big possibility that you will be separated from your traveling buddies without getting an advance notice.

We chose this hotel for our express exit to Donosti in accommodation and breakfast and we loved it! The room is very beautiful, modern, well equipped, the comfortable beds, a very chill-glass shower, the very soft and absorbent towels, hair dryer ”real” (not the powerless tube that usually offers other hotels), The hotel is located in the heart of the city centre, and the hotel is located in the heart of the city centre. The room was very comfortable and the room was very comfortable. The coffee shop despite being capsules offers a very rich coffee without being the ”aguachirri” you usually find in hotels. Personally we loved it. We were left two posts and a welcome note with a bottle of water. We recommend it and if We'll return to Donosti without doubt to repeat.

Location is about 15 to 20 minutes from the center. I was a little worried about security as it was far from the center, but there was nothing in particular. It may be better not to be too late for a woman alone. The room was large and clean and easy to spend. Towels, hair dryers and hair body wash are provided. Since it is not separated as a shower room, I am prepared to be bishabisha in that area. There is a TV, but there is no refrigerator. The bed was too soft and not too hard and I was easy to sleep ◎ The response of the front desk was also good!

The Renfe train station to Madrid and Barcelona is about 6 minutes walking across the bridge right in front of the hotel. This bridge also takes you to the major shopping street of Bilbao as well. The Guggenheim is a pleasant 20 minute stroll along the river and around the corner you'll find the Plaza Barria with some of the best pinxto bars in the Basque country. The metro station that will take you right to the intermodal bus station is a short 2 minute walk away. The suite was compact with only a double bed, but the bathroom was roomy and the shower easily fit two. Storage was minimal, but there was a safe, mini fridge, iron and ironing board. The coffee maker was an imitation Nespresso, but the pods were Lavazza. The balcony had a fantastic 270 degree view of the old Town and the newer city across the river. A negative note: Almost every evening we came home to discover a new invasion of ants crossing our room, slipping under the door and parading down the hall.

The gym really doesn't deserve the name! 3(!) devices in a 15sqm room is incredible. The pool is also in a dark side room, very small and never used, not worthy of a Relaix & Chardon! Furthermore, there is not a single possibility to sit outside, sunbathe or simply chill out without going to the bar. The reception and the processing of the invoice were not at all satisfactory. The receptionists insist on an incomprehensible process and also become unfriendly. So they didn't want to cancel a credit card reservation as long as the room wasn't checked for damage... At the same time, however, a debit should be made for additional costs.

We do want to give a shout out to Amaya, Nefer, Isidoro (Isi), Marta and Danielle. ALL amazing staff who were so attentive, friendly and really went the extra mile to make us feel spoiled. We had a rough time getting to Spain and they, in their own ways, wanted us to feel special and appreciated so we want them to know we appreciate that. To wrap this up, I would say you are moronic for not staying at Hotel Nobu if you come to this area. It is a small 17 room hotel where you do not see children (which we loved) and it is quiet, elegant and classy. I recommend a suite with an ocean view and advise you speak to one of the people named in this review. We hope to see them again.

The layout was very odd: room was very small but it had a wide entrance and sizeable showers and toilet which was as big as the room. The only positive was the balcony which was quite nice (and big!). The breakfast was quite nice with plenty of choices so we enjoyed that. The other positive was the nice rooftop pool and lounge which would be nice during a hot summer. The gym is pretty good for the hotel, you can get a good workout here. And the indoor pool/sauna is delightful. We spent a few hours here relaxing (and inclusive of hotel price). However,i would also say the location is not ideal for us. We only had 3 days and most of the attractions are located and tours in the old town which was 15-20min walk away, so as we spent a lot of time there with rests in between day and night, we spent a lot of time walking back and forth which became tedious after a few days. When I come back to SS i would likely find a hotel closer to the old town. This is just my recommendation though.

It’s right across from the beach and is less than 10 minutes from the old town area. Our junior suite was spacious and extremely well appointed. The bedroom and living room each had a television with several English channels. The bathroom was beautiful with a marble floor and two sinks. We had two very small balconies, each with a single chair. It was a little odd that the balconies were so small but it was nice that you could open the windows and check out what was going on at the very active beach. The front desk personnel were top notch and very professional. They had a concierge desk but we only saw someone there when we checked in, it wasn’t a problem for us but it was surprising that a hotel of this quality didn’t have a concierge that was regularly available. An excellent breakfast buffet was included in our room rate. There were a wide variety of foods available and some dishes that were made to order. I had an omelette one day that was excellent and very large. You can reserve a parking spot at an adjacent lot with the hotel. You park on the -5th floor in the underground lot shortly after turning right, just past the hotel. You need a PDF code from the hotel in order to enter and to go from -3 floor to -4 and -5. Note that there is no sign directing you from -3 to -4. Just continue going down as you had been. We loved our stay here and hope to return.

Superb Hotel in suburb close to big hospital, you can park your car free of charge outside (if you find one). Rooms are luxury in all senses, recommend place in San Sebastian! Breakfast (officially 20€/Person) was disappointing. Not even a spanish Flute for tostada tomate only white toast.

Amazing stay for San Sebastián. Older Victorian style villa converted for boutique hotel use. Excellent concept and room! Cleaning staff was thorough and all staff was amazing and helpful. Didn’t spend much time on the property but no need as the city itself is amazing.

Everything was good, but it wasn't pleasant because of the weather. I repeated it raining all three days, especially if I tried to go out, I wanted to rain and be bad luck. The hotel is good with facilities and cleanliness, and the staff are friendly. It's a bit hard if it rains or it's too hot. Plus, it's hard to catch a taxi

Gardeners are busy with peace and quiet. The old town was always worth a visit. The white sandy beach with the blue skies and the glowing sunset was pretty. Not very keen on the food but there was variety but cannot beat the cheese cake( sorry no biscuity base!).
