Plus: under 10 minute walk to Manchester Piccadilly train station. Convenient location with bus stops right outside the hotel. Check in was really easy. Outside of hotel looks right out of an old movie, really pretty — plus the corridor on entry. See attached photos.
Cons: the room is dated, expected for an old hotel. You get what you pay for I guess. The most terrible thing was the extra blanket they provided smelled really bad - like a wet carpet or dog that has dried up on its own and retained that most terrible smell. I slept without the blanket and chose to get cold rather because of that smell.

I came too early before check in time but thankfully the staff was helpful and facilitated the early check in. The hotel is located in a strategic area, 5 min walk to Manchester Piccadily station. The roow was very clean with the complete facilities. I enjoyed my stay so much!

During my recent stay, I was extremely dissatisfied with the service I received from the hotel's front desk.
Firstly, upon check-in, despite a long queue of guests, only one counter was open. Although another counter eventually opened, when I was first in line, a staff member who appeared to be of Chinese descent refused to assist me and told me to rejoin the queue at the new counter. Instead, she prioritized a Caucasian guest who had just arrived. This discriminatory treatment made me feel very uncomfortable and disrespected.
Secondly, later that evening, when I returned to the hotel to inquire about WiFi connectivity, I was assisted by another male staff member, also of Chinese descent. Throughout our conversation, he was noticeably impatient, spoke in a cold tone, and his voice was so low that it was difficult to hear him, forcing us to repeatedly ask him to repeat himself. My friend and I were speaking in Chinese during this time, and he clearly understood us, yet he offered no assistance. Instead, he repeatedly and impatiently asked us in English, 'Do you speak English?' This attitude was extremely disappointing and severely impacted my overall experience.
The hotel is in a good location near the centre with good transpprt links to Piccadilly, the reception and breakfast areas are nice and spacious and therr's room to chill as well, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The room is comfy and clean, the shower is spacious and the bed is soft and there's a nice tv as well. Internet is very fast. The breakfsst is also tasty and plentiful and it's only £ 8. It was a pleasant stay for a budget hotel, I would recommend it.
I stayed here with my son for a Manchester United match. The Hilton Inn room was incredibly small; I couldn't even fully open my 30-inch suitcase. They didn't provide bottled water, disposable toiletries, and, even worse, no slippers. When I asked if I could buy some, they said no. After two nights, I was pretty fed up. Choose carefully!
The upside is it's close to the stadium. I could see fans entering from my room, and walking back and forth meant no traffic worries. The room was also kept reasonably clean.
I definitely won't be staying here again!

Overall was a decent stay. Walking distance to main universities in Manchester like MMU and UOM. Also walking distance to main train and tram station ( Piccadilly Station). Have many restaurants nearby.
The location is strategic as it is closer to Media City and Old Trafford stadium. It is also accessible by tram. The reception staff was great. Fast check in by the beautiful eyed lady and was greet with the most lovely smile upon check out. The room was comfortable with different type lighting. Toilet and shower room was clean, kudos to housekeeping staff. During my stay it was a windy day, thus the sound of the wind come from the window at the corridor and it was a bit scary but not really disturbing. Overall I did enjoyed my stay and surely will coming here again whenever I want to visit Old Trafford.
Front of house was helpful as I had booked and accessible room and they switched it for me with no issues however the room I was then switched to wasn’t the best. The bathroom door won’t close properly or lock. Nitro oxide Canisters 7 of them was found in the room behind a door so I had to get front of house to come and remove them. and the AC in the room didn’t work. So the room was hot all day and night.

This hotel was a positive surprise to me. I did not expect more than a bed to sleep close to the center of Manchester for the price I paid for the stay and they offered so much more with the friendliness and professionalism of the frontdesk service staff, the varied breakfast and comfortable bed. The hotel is however a bit outdated and I missed a usb plug in the room for charging mobile as I am a European traveller and the plug is different. Luckily front desk helped me with an adapter for the night. I also had a small lunch at the Garden restaurant and whether you go there for a drink or food you will find nice staff and you can taste the freshness of the products used.
All in all, great value for money.

AAnonymous UserGood place to stay for easy access to airport and travel links lukebtrain, trams and bus. Good food, especially breakfast. They have breakfast foods available for those who are leaving to catch early flights as well.
The place can be somewhat dusty and not good for those with dust allergies or asthma.
Had booked the accessible room which is nice and big. The only issue is that its far away from the main lifts and the carpet is a pain to drag wheels on.
GGuest UserWe enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly. We were a little disappointed, however, that we were unable to have a drink at the bar (even though there were lots of seats available) without pre-booking. Maybe guests should be informed of this when booking. Otherwise, we had a good time.
GGuest UserArrived at site, found the car park to be a good size, and secure facilities. Arrived at reception and was greeted by a friendly staff, and made very welcome, was pleased to find out the parking to be free.filled in the relevant paperwork and received my room card.went to our room and found it to be nice and clean and all the needed requirements for the over night stay.i would definitely book another stay here if I needed an overnight stay and would recommend it to family and friends.
RRawstronThe hotel was amazing! The service was fab, all the staff were so lovely and really helpful. The room was great and had everything you could need, and I loved the fact that all the toiletries are plant based! The location was also amazing, just round the corner from the nightlife if you wanted it (but completely silent from inside your room). It's very central so really easy access to anything you could want really.
Would definitely stay there again and already recommended it to some friends.
YYorkshire visiting⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5-Star Review: ibis budget Manchester Airport
I recently stayed at the ibis budget Manchester Airport, and it exceeded all my expectations for an airport hotel. From start to finish, the experience was smooth, comfortable, and incredibly convenient.
The location couldn’t be better—just a short walk from the terminals and perfect for early flights. Check-in was quick and friendly, and the staff were genuinely welcoming and helpful.
My room was spotlessly clean, modern, and surprisingly quiet considering the proximity to the airport. The bed was comfortable, the shower had great water pressure, and the overall layout was simple but very well designed. For the price, the value is outstanding.
I also appreciated the 24/7 reception, handy vending options, and the overall sense of safety and efficiency. Everything worked exactly as you’d hope before or after a long journey.
Overall, ibis budget Manchester Airport is a fantastic choice for travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and great value. I would definitely stay here again!

TTheVoyagerThe room was clean and cosy and front-desk was friendly and responsive. We booked mainly to check out the pool, spa and gym as advertised by the hotel. So it was really disappointing when we found out that these facilities were closed on Xmas day and on other days operated at limited hours when we were there. The pool, sauna, steam room and gym are operated by a separate company from the hotel. That meant operating hours of those facilities are not catered for hotel guests at all. And it also meant sharing the facilities with members of the gym. So if you’re thinking of staying here and using the gym or pool, just bear those things in mind. Breakfast selection was quite limited. Very bare selection of any salads or greens. Quite embarrassing as well to see that clean plates were not available several times when there were less than 20 covers at breakfast. I understand it was the holiday season and the hotel is understaffed. But I’m sure this is not the first Christmas or NYE the hotel has encountered.
Ttraveller2002Absolutely loved our stay at The Midland Manchester – everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and couldn’t do enough for us. Every member of the team made us feel genuinely looked after, and the service throughout was faultless.
The room was spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud – we had some of the best nights’ sleep we’ve had in ages! The room service was prompt, professional, and the food was delicious – a real treat after a long day exploring the city.
Speaking of relaxing – the spa was absolutely divine. Clean, calming, and wonderfully designed, it was the perfect escape. The massage was one of the best I’ve ever had – incredibly soothing and tailored to perfection. If you’re in need of some proper pampering, this is the place to be.
Location-wise, you couldn’t ask for better. Right in the heart of Manchester, everything is within walking distance, yet the hotel still manages to feel like a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle.
All in all, The Midland is a true gem. Comfortable, elegant, and run by an outstanding team. We’ll absolutely be back!
