It was a decent place to stay after my flight. The only drawback was that public transportation wasn't very convenient. Although it looked close to the airport, it actually took about half an hour to get there using public transport. The room and amenities were perfectly fine, though. Overall, it was a good choice.
â The service was excellent! On our first day, we lost our Suica card and couldn't retrieve our luggage from the JR station locker. We asked the front desk staff for help, and they made three calls, but couldn't get through. It was after 5 PM on a Sunday, so we thought the locker staff might be off duty or gone for the day. We were resigned to dealing with it the next morning, but shortly after we got to our room, the front desk called back â they had reached the staff and we could pick up our luggage that same day! We were incredibly surprised and grateful!
⥠Breakfast is on the ninth floor with a great view. The variety isn't huge, but it's delicious. We ate there for five days, and they changed up the dishes slightly each day. Eating at the hotel is convenient and the food is good, though for night owls, it means you can't sleep in; you have to get up by 9-ish for breakfast.
âą The room environment was clean and tidy, not too big and not too small. Pajamas were provided on the bed, and the air purifier worked well. The TV had a platform for watching Chinese TV shows. The only minor drawbacks were that the space between the TV and the bed was a bit narrow, and the curtains weren't very blackout, so we sometimes woke up at 8 or 9 AM. For environmental reasons, there's no bottled water in the room, but there are cups you can use to get water from the dispenser by the elevator. I didn't use it, as it seemed a bit inconvenient; buying a large bottle of water at the 7-Eleven downstairs wasn't expensive anyway. The toothpaste comes in small single-use tabs, good for one or two applications. If the room isn't serviced, and no one replaces them, you need to pick up more from a small drawer opposite the front desk. This area also had Yokohama maps available. The air conditioning only provided cool air. The days I was there, temperatures were in the teens (Celsius), and one day it was only 8 degrees, but the room felt fine. I'm not sure if it would be cold in winter.
⣠It's about a 15-minute walk to Yokohama Station. By the third or fourth day, we were pretty familiar with the route, and you can take shortcuts just like in domestic subway stations. From the hotel, walk straight ahead to the overpass, take the escalator down from Sogo, and you'll reach Yokohama Station. However, for your first time, I'd recommend following walking directions on the surface streets (I did this when checking in from Yokohama Station, using Google Maps) to avoid getting lost. The hotel is also a short walk to the seaside and the Red Brick Warehouse. Getting around feels quite convenient.
Overall, I booked this hotel for about 700 JPY per night (including breakfast), and personally, I think it offers good value for money and is a worthwhile choice.
Spacious room. Very near to train station. Take a right turn after exit from train station, take another right turn at family mart, walk about 100m, you will see the hotel on your slight right. The washing machine at level 2 is a plus. ^^ highly recommended. Take a slow jog in the morning and you can explore the surrounding.
My stay was very comfortable and enjoyable. The service was friendly and efficient, and the staff always made sure I felt welcome. The facilities were clean and well maintained, and everything was easy to access. I especially appreciated how smooth the check-in and check-out process was. The food was tasty and fresh, which made the experience even better. Overall, it was excellent value for money, and I would definitely recommend it to others.

The amenities in the rooms were a little old, but I was impressed on the cleanliness. Iâm very picky in this aspect and thought this hotel did a good job. The workers were very nice, and would use a translation app in order to help us. They have a lot of toiletries free downstairs. Good location, just right next to to a subway stop. And also there is a Lawson right down stairs.

Hakone Hotel Kowakien, a natural onsen hotel offering dinner and breakfast that I'd rate 90 out of 100. It's not easy to impress me in Hakone, the famed hot spring town in Kanagawa Prefecture, but this hotel truly excelled across all criteria, showing a consistently high standard. Both the front desk and restaurant staff were attractive, with fluent English and standard accents; notably, they didn't employ any Southeast Asian staff. The hotel facilities are relatively new and well-designed, and the cleanliness is exceptional. The public areas offer plenty of sofa seating, and the temperature control is precise, allowing guests to comfortably wander around in traditional yukata without feeling cold. The air is fresh with no strong artificial scents, embodying a 'Natural and Pure' concept.
The restaurant, named Fontainebleau, lives up to its name with authentic French pastries. The 'all-you-can-eat' style still maintains high-quality ingredients, and there's an unlimited supply of Sapporo Asahi draft beer and Gekkeikan sake. What's more, the self-service alcohol bar is also open during breakfast, which seems quite common for Japanese guests â their physical resilience certainly differs from ours! Observing Japanese dining concepts, you'll notice several characteristics: a wide variety of dishes, comprehensive nutrition, low-temperature preservation, minimal oil and seasoning, and avoiding high-temperature cooking to prevent nutrient loss.
The sauna is also quite professional, featuring a 12-minute sand timer, anti-scald mats, humidity and temperature displays, and powerful heating elements that ensure you won't waste any time. Whether you prefer mountain views, garden vistas, or indoor hot springs, there's an option for everyone.
For those interested, the address is:
1297 Ninotaira, Hakone-machi, Kanagawa Prefecture 250-0407
The hotel is located very close to Bashamichi Station and is inside the town. Behind the famous Yokohama Cultural Museum, and very close to Yokohama Air Cabin Station and Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse.
So far, I was pleased to stay in this hotel. They allowed you to keep your luggage to wait for check in time, if you want to wait few hours after check out.
The downside was, you have to pre-book for the daily room services. And the towels were not change daily. You have to ask for them and make sure you receive them. And the room was quite small.

Coming from Tokyo, getting to this hotel from Shin-Yokohama Station is super easy. Don't go out the North Exit; just turn right and walk straight ahead for about 5 minutes until you reach the PRINCESS PEPE shopping mall. Follow the signs from there, and you'll be right at the hotel entrance. They offer free luggage storage, which is a great perk. The front desk staff's English was very good, and the service overall was excellent. Parking is available for 1000 JPY per night.
The room size was comfortable, though there was no complimentary bottled water. However, there's a 7-Eleven right next to the elevator, which is convenient. The breakfast spread was extensive and available until 10 AM. Check-in at 3 PM and check-out at 11 AM felt very accommodating, especially after all the walking we did daily.
The adjacent shopping mall is quite local, featuring stores like Albion (where you can buy their 'E-Powder' â though it's one per person), Muji, and Seijo Ishii supermarket. It was really fun to browse around. We also had a great meal at a teppanyaki restaurant there; it was delicious, albeit a bit pricey.
Overall, it was a very good experience.

GGuest UserI spent a wonderful night here during New Year's Eve. The waiter barely understands people and foreign languages, but he is friendly and good at communication. I booked a public bathroom first, but then I changed it to a private bath when there was room. My satisfaction improved a lot! The hotel is very close to HakoyĆ-Yumoto Station, and the taxi cost was less than 1,000 yen. Later, we couldn't get a taxi and it was very comfortable for us to walk to the station for 15 minutes with our childrenđłïžđ
11346676****Hakone Kowakien Ten-yu Hotel was an amazing experience! The hotel boasts multiple natural hot springs with a rich variety of baths and breathtaking scenery; soaking in them left me feeling completely refreshed. The rooms are spacious and elegant, with stylish Japanese decor that ensures privacy. The dinner buffet was exquisite, featuring fresh and delicious ingredients. The staff were warm and attentive, always greeting guests with a smile. Its convenient location also offers easy access to transportation. Both the facilities and service truly reflect the high quality of Japanese onsen hotels. Highly recommended!
11360173****Ryori-yaku (restaurant name), the hot springs in Hakone are unparalleled, but the food here really deserves mention. I've been to Ryori-yaku in Izu before, and compared to that, this one probably suits my taste better. It's not as sweet, so the food is refreshing and not cloying. The only downside is that the rooms are really smallâevery inch of space is precious!
AAnonymous UserWe booked a hot spring hotel on short notice and were very satisfied with it. We arrived early and could not check in until after 3:30 pm, but fortunately we could leave our luggage at the hotel. The staff helped us make the bed when we were having dinner in the evening. There was a rich variety of dinner, but we didnât really like the side dishes. It would have been better if the side dishes were replaced with sashimi. We even had a surprise dessert after the meal, which made us very happy. The breakfast the next day was also very filling and delicious. The experience is very good and recommended for staying.
SSijiepannaketelinxiangruThis hotel is an absolute steal for the price! The room is well-equipped, the AC heats and cools quickly, and the hot water supply is stable. The cleanliness is impeccable, with not a speck of dust even in the corners. Despite being in the city center, the room is surprisingly quiet. The breakfast isn't lavish, but it offers a good variety and everything is fresh. The front desk staff is very responsive and quick to address any needs. The value for money far exceeds expectations, highly recommended for budget travelers.
KkewinnThis five-star hotel in Yokohama truly redefines luxury with its impeccable details and sophisticated ambiance. Every moment, from check-in to check-out, was a delightful surprise, making it my top recommendation for anyone visiting Yokohamaâa true hidden gem!
The hotel's location is absolutely superb, nestled in the charming, exotic Yamashita-cho. It's within walking distance of Yokohama Station and close to popular attractions like Minato Mirai 21 and the Red Brick Warehouse. Getting to Chinatown and Sankeien Garden is also incredibly convenient, making it perfect for both sightseeing and business trips. What truly captivated me was its âEast-meets-Westâ design philosophy. Inspired by Yokohama's port-opening culture, it beautifully blends traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern Western design. The art installations adorning the lobby and the Samurai-inspired screen headboards in the guest rooms exude a subtle yet refined elegance, allowing you to feel a sense of vintage charm amidst the contemporary surroundings.
AANASTASIIA_BERDNIKOVAThis hotel is a paradise in the mountains of Hakone! Traditional style of the rooms - it feels like you are living in a Japanese family. We were prepared a traditional dinner, which was served in our room. It was very tasty and varied! The hotel has 3 onsen: 2 - private, 1 - public. We visited only the private ones (you need to book a time in advance at the reception upon check-in, the visit time is 30 minutes). It was wonderful! The hotel also provides a transfer from and to the nearest train stations. The rooms are clean, cozy, we slept on tatami under soft blankets. The hotel has a relax room. With massage chairs and a very quiet atmosphere. We stayed in this room after visiting the onsen and got great relaxation. And you are also given national clothes for rest and sleep. It is very beautiful and cute. Breakfasts were also in kaiseki style - varied and unusual. The hotel staff is very kind and friendly. this hotel allows tattoo baths. great experience, thank you very much! want to come back again!

JJinRongThe hotel's location is excellent!đ Coming from Tokyo, we took the Odakyu Line OH01 (starting station) from Shinjuku West Exit to Odawara Station OH47. From there, we just walked across the platform to transfer to the Hakone Tozan Railway to Hakone-Yumoto Station OH51. After exiting the station, we crossed the pedestrian bridge, took the elevator down to the river, and walked across the red bridge, and there was the hotel. The path is very flat, perfect for those traveling with luggage. Since we only booked our Hakone stay two days in advance, there were no connecting rooms available. We stayed in a standard room the first night and then moved to a Japanese-style room the second day, which had a great view. The hotel breakfast included natto, and the rest was pretty standard. If you go early, it's less crowded, but after 8 AM, you'll likely have to queue for a table. You can also take a public bus from the hotel to Togendai or Gotemba, but buses are less frequent after 9:30 AM, so it's advisable to leave early. All in all, while the hotel was a bit pricey, its convenient location and multiple transportation options made it worthwhile.
