Great stay! Love the service provided by the concierge staff upon our arrival, did not manage to catch his name but he was fantastic! He was detail oriented and sincere with his service. Especially after a long drive up to Dunedin, he made sure we were well taken care of :)
Room booked was quite tiny, so not recommended to book this room type if you are travelling with big luggage. Room was also quite perfumed - which would've been better if it was much more subtle.
We enjoyed our stay very much hotel was in a good location for what we needed the whole of city center was in walking distance. One thing to be aware of listing shows parking but they only have 13 parks so would pay to call in advance to get one allocated to your room.
Gotten free upgrades to the apartment with living room, kitchen, one bathroom and toilet, 2 bedrooms with 1 queen bed & 1 single bed inside. Fully equipped, clean, and big enough the space. Very good, recommended!
My recent stay at Oakridge Resort Lake Wanaka was overall a very positive experience, thanks to its fantastic amenities. After long days spent exploring the stunning surrounding landscapes, the hot pools were an absolute highlight. Soaking in the warm water under the stars was incredibly relaxing and a perfect way to unwind tired muscles. This was definitely a standout feature of the resort and something I greatly appreciated.
If I were to be particularly picky, the only minor annoyance during my stay was a faint but persistent hissing sound coming from the telephone line in my room. While it wasn't overly loud, it did become a little distracting when trying to get to sleep.
Despite this small issue, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Oakridge Resort.
I recently stayed at Scenic Hotel Southern Cross and had a very pleasant experience. One of the biggest highlights of this hotel is its excellent location – it's within walking distance to many of Dunedin's main attractions, including the Railway Station, Baldwin Street (the world’s steepest street), and Queen’s Gardens. Whether you're in town for sightseeing or just want convenient access to key places, this hotel is ideally situated.
The check-in and check-out process was smooth and efficient, and the staff were warm and welcoming, making the entire stay hassle-free. The room was clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable space to relax after a day of exploring the city.
Another plus is the on-site hotel parking, which is a great convenience, especially in a central location like this.
Overall, I’d recommend Scenic Hotel Southern Cross for anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located hotel in Dunedin with friendly service and all the essentials covered.
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, good water supply and heating. A very good location that is near to eating places. A complete kitchenette. Will visit again, highly recommended motel to stay in Dunedin.
Very design hotel, good location, across the street is the mall, the only view of the hotel is the hotel interior, parking fee is 30 a night, charging is 45, it is slow charging, superior room is similar to ordinary room, executive privileges and so on confirmed but nothing, the hotel front desk told me that the breakfast restaurant is very delicious, I tried it, it only looks good, no meat, the room is spacious and bright with design, all of which are the best hotel I stayed in this trip except Auckland InterContinental, but it is more expensive than Auckland InterContinental
The front desk of this store looks cold, but the people are very nice. They gave me an hour delay. This store is located near the 8th Corner Square. It is convenient for us to eat, but the heating in the toilet is broken, and isn't there a laundry service? Why is it still locked up as staff only?
The hotel was renovated from a historic building. The soft furnishings are a way of turning waste into treasure, giving old objects new functions and also serving as decorations. It is very tasteful. If you are familiar with sports in New Zealand, I believe you will be interested in the hotel's collection. The hotel is in a good location, at the north end of Thames Street, the main street of 600 meters. There is a supermarket next to it. Parking is available on the street, free on weekends. The room is more than 3 meters high, so even if the room is not big, it does not feel cramped. The photo shows the distinctive buildings around the hotel.
This hotel is very good, clean and comfy. I love their bed. It's so soft and comfortable. It's located in the good location. If you don't mind hearing the noises of cars and sirens.

EEphywoldI had 3 night Copthorne Hotel and Resort
Queenstown Lakefront the room is clean and basic the bed comfortable l had a good sleep the room to big even had a good seating area coffee tea in the room TV had variety of choices however the bathroom that not that great they need to get rid of that bath basin I am not sure what is purpose? The shower curtain so cheap common if you charge your guests a top dollars you can afford a decent shower curtain it New Zealand not a 3rd world country. All the Wi-fi so terrible even basic email take time to download also what is deposit for if you don't have any minibar in the room? I think all those can improve a good management I had pizz one night taste good anyway this Queenstown accommodation always in short that way they don't care still a good place to crush a big hot two.
HHuobatuThe hotel environment is particularly good, the proprietress is a Chinese sister, especially good, give me milk, it is very quiet, and very close to the scenic spot, there is a McDonald's and gas station ten meters away, there is a fish and chips 100 meters away, and the Chinese are also delicious but not friendly. In short, the hotel is very clean, the location is good, convenient and fast, parking is very convenient
AAylwinDDoubletree was a last minute decision upon arriving Queenstown from Mt Cook. Although it is pricey, no regrets getting a room here for 2 nights. It came with a fully furnished kitchenette where you could do some cooking but didn't utilize this since we ate out. One peeve I don't understand is the need to pay for parking since onsite (NZD$ 16 per nite). There's ample parking and for guests that drive in, this should be complimentary for stay duration.
Location is outside of Queenstown but water taxi available from hotel dock. Recommend for the environment and fantastic room but giving 3 stars for facilities due to need to pay for parking.
Location by the lake allows peace and quiet and also wildlife encounters. Front desk staff during checkin time was very attentive and helpful as well.
Ssuki_zhuangThe hotel's breakfast times are very strict. Five families stayed here, and one of them arrived for breakfast at 10 AM only to be denied entry. This meant we missed out on the pre-paid breakfast, which was a significant loss. I would not recommend the breakfast at this hotel; it's much better to head to the city center for some bread and milk, as the hotel's breakfast is truly mediocre. It was, in fact, the worst breakfast I've had during my 15 days in New Zealand.
The hotel itself is pleasant, and its location isn't too far from the city center, which would be acceptable if you're not traveling with kids. However, for us, with children, it was genuinely tiring because parking in the city center is neither convenient nor cheap.
While the hotel's overall environment and cleanliness were good, one minor inconvenience was the old-fashioned, fixed showerhead that couldn't be detached. All in all, this hotel is not very convenient for families with young children.
CCrystalwuThis hotel is a fantastic choice if you're not renting a car. The location is unbeatable, right on Queenstown Bay. Everything is within easy walking distance: boat departures, the gondola, town shopping, a 24-hour convenience store, and nearby bars. It's perfect for those who like to break up their day; you can explore in the morning, pop back to the hotel for a rest, and then head out again in the afternoon. Five stars for the location! However, the bed was too soft and the room was small. While the lobby was nice, the room itself was pretty standard.
CCharm-Pros: the hotel room was really clean and spacious
Location was good, really near the main shops area
Cons: the hotel informed there was no parking available as their carpark was full and it was first come first serve. So guests are expected to circle the hotel vicinity for a lot when they arrive? Especially when it’s stated that parking is available onsite.
Front desk staff was really rude with an attitude. She suggested street parking but I told her I wasn’t comfortable with parallel parking and she just got really rude with a take it or leave it attitude. We booked two rooms but she only gave one room’s card and I had to remind her for the other room’s card.
Anyways. The hotel is a maze where we had to take lift to a different level, walk to a different building and take another lift to get to the room. Abit creepy for solo travellers.
Overall; the rooms are well maintained but beware of the lack of parking + rude staff
LLandersMercure Queenstown Resort has offered very good services with great hospitality. The room given has a great view overseeing a big lake right from the middle. Livin (A name for New Zealander, I suppose) offered great hospitality for us and even treated us a VIP favour by giving an in room slipper.. thank you.. if you are lucky you can even spot a double rainbow…
Superb.. love Queenstown and Mercure Resort..
Also Accor membership is usable here.. bravo..
YYA FANGI won’t recommend it,they couldn’t find my booking under my name so they charged me again. when I told them that I didn’t get the refund, they said they’ll send an email to manager, but they did nothing until I called them and asked. They only took it seriously when I asked their manager’s contact. It took so long to get my refund and I had to pay transaction fees!!
We booked the sauna when we checked in,then the next day we went to the reception, they said they couldn’t find my booking again, and they didn’t even apologise for that,it’s all just ridiculous!
AAylwinDLocation: The hotel is located close to the Queenstown airport but approximately 15 mins away from Queenstown itself.
Parking: There is no parking bays at the Hilton (only valet) itself but it shares with Doubletree which is limited. Due to some maintenance work, level P2 was closed off and had to park in a reserved slot for the night. Cost of parking is NZ$ 16 per night.
Rooms: This is where my issue lies, the room temp is centrally managed and it was freezing at night especially with the floor to ceiling windows. Had to go to the front desk for portable heater and extra blankets on the 1st night. Bathroom is non-heated (with tiled floors) so extra cold in there. In most places we stayed in NZ, the bathrooms had heated lamps overhead for comfort. I requested the accessible room for mom and it was provided as requested although the location of the room was on one end of the building which is a distance to walk.
Food: Breakfast was a good selection and ran from 630 to 1030am.
