This type of room booked by Ctrip must avoid the third floor. When I entered, I smelled a so-called cigarette smell and immediately asked to change rooms. The front desk said that many people smoke on this floor 😅... The hotel only has a small train next door to the airport. It is not very convenient if you have a lot of luggage or it rains.

This was my 3rd stay here but first in many years. Upon arrival, I requested an upgrade for my Diamond level IHG status but was abruptly told that the hotel was full! ok, I understand. I then asked, if possible, to have a room with a tub. No trouble so we checked in and went to a room which only had a shower! Back to the lobby and a different, but friendlier person. She gave us a room but upon arrival there, we found a tub but also drooping drapes and a loose lock on main door plus it was a connecting room. Back to the lobby and the same second person, but she disappeared and a manager appeared. The manager was very apologetic and offered us each a free drink. She gave us an end room, which I believe she called an ”Endeavour” room, which she said was one usually reserved for Delta pilots. We got there and it did have a tub but was also a connecting one. I gave up! The weirdest aspect of this room was the location of the toilet. To stand in front of the sink, one had to straddle the toilet since it stuck out and obviously was a last minute placement. (see picture) We headed to the bar area for our free drink plus decided to use our 1/2 price drink/appetizer coupon that everyone receives for a steak quesadilla appetizer. It was mostly soggy ground beef, but it did for our dinner since we weren't too hungry after a mid-afternoon lunch in Cordele. We had planned to go to Publix and get some wine and maybe some snacks, but we decided just to make do with one drink and a split appetizer so money saved! While we were having our appetizer, the manager walked by and asked about our room. I thanked her for her attention but stated that our room was a connecting one. She immediately had the bartender give up a 2nd round of drinks; me Gin & Tonic, other half, white wine. We finished our appetizer and took the remaining drinks to the room and got to bed early. Breakfast the next morning which I receive complimentary as a Diamond perk was very good with great service. The 2 servers and the chef were very friendly and welcoming. I got a large glass of water, which I refilled twice. I had the biscuits and gravy which came with 2 eggs and a meat (I had bacon, which I requested soft but it was a quite firm since they must prepare the bacon in advance and just keep it warm!) Other half had a wrap and a bowl of fruit. In summary, manager tried her best. She said she would have definitely upgraded us to a suite due to my status had the hotel not been full. The breakfast team was fantastic and as welcoming as I remembered 5+ years ago. I would still give this place another chance but would hope for no issues, although I did enjoy 2 rounds of free drinks.

This Hotel is in a great Location. The front desk staff are meh. Not very friendly. The Breakfast is pitiful, sausage sitting in a pan full of grease, I know sausage is greasy, but I’ve never seen it served sitting in a pan full of greased. So not appetizing at all. The first day the French toast sticks were stuck together and half cooked. Fruit bowl never refilled. Charging $15 for that is insane!! I will say the Breakfast attendants are sweet and helpful. The parking is ridiculous, I have to pay $45 per day for an attendant to go park my car 50 feet away. That’s just taking advantage of people. I should be able to park my own car instead of being rushed out of my car trying to grab all my things, shopping bags, etc. Hallways are very loud throughout the night. Ghetto guests allowed to say the worst cuss words and talk any way they want to loudly in front of other guests and Children. I finally had to say something to this one girl. This is a family friendly Hotel as the Aquarium, Coke Museum, Centennial Park are all located within walking distance. Hotel staff shouldn’t let crap like this happen or continue. Good luck if you need towels, an extra blanket, or whatever, Housekeeping doesnt clean or replenish anything and that was on my third day. You have to call and ask for it, but the phone doesn’t work in the room and I had to use my cellphone to call the front desk. I had to go get it myself and the guy couldn’t get into the linen closet cause someone locked the door and they didn’t have a key. He had to go to an open room and get it from there, SMH. I paid over $200 a night to stay here and I’m very disappointed. Won’t be back. Will go stay at the overpriced, outdated, Westin instead and pay for an Uber to drive me and my family to where we got to go.

Aloft Alpharetta

I arrived at the Aloft Marriott Bonvoy Hotel early on Friday, February 17 and was greeted by General Manager, Chris Spears. Beautiful, European style lobby with bright colors and open spaces. Angel, front desk clerk, assigned me to Room 218. Carlos, housekeeper/maintenance worker, loaded my bags on a cart. I gave Carlos $10 (ten dollars). We proceeded to the elevator. Carlos had my room key. I gave him my car key and asked him to park my car. There was a bad order in the room I thought was from Carlos. Carlos brought my car keys back. I sprayed the room with my Lysol. Smell was not noticeable in the bathroom. I went downstairs to the bar. Returned to room. Got undressed and got in bed. The smell was in the bed. I fell asleep and woke up coughing violently around 3am. Juliana, 19-year old night auditor, agreed to change me to Room 216. However, she was the only person working and she couldn't leave the front desk. I had to stay in the smelly room until Dominique came to move me at 7:30am. When Dominique came to Room 218, she said, ”I SMELL IT!” Dominique rushed me out of Room 218 to my new Room 216. Dominique helped me to my car so I could drive to Wellstar North Fulton Emergency Department where I tested positive for COVID-19. Today is Day 10 of being infected with COVID-19 at the Aloft Marriott Bonvoy Hotel in Alpharetta GA. My case # is 429 646 235. Marriott Corporate has escalated my case to risk management and the legal department. Chris Spears, General Manager at the Aloft in Alpharetta is 28 years old with only 5 years with the Marriott Corporation. He's not trained to run the Aloft Hotel. The bartender is also 28 years old. It appears Chris Spears has hired his inexperienced friends to staff housekeeping, bar and his friend JP at the front desk. I expect Reparations for what the incompetence of Chris Spears fid to me at the Aloft Marriott Bonvoy Hotel, 7895 North Point Parkway, Alpharetta GA.
