Arncliffe Youth Centre is open for Young People to enjoy our youth program activities including multi-sports, video games and mindfulness activities. Terms and conditions: For young people ages 12-25 ONLY. Participants must be local to the Bayside LGA (reside, work, study or connected to the area). Registrations are a legal document. Please note that legal Parent/Guardian must complete registration ( can not book in a friends Young Person). Please register details of the young person attending the activity. Siblings of participants who are younger than 12 are not permitted to attend, even in the care of their older siblings. Supervision of young people will be undertaken by trained and qualified Council staff and staff from partnered organisations and agencies. Council staff and their agents reserve the right to exclude any young person from any activity due to disruptive or dangerous behaviour. The event will last about 75 minutes and there will be some time afterwards for those who can and want to stay, to discuss the piece, provide feedback and ask questions. Balancing in Freedom draws on a range of forms of expression to share a deeply personal story of disability, persecution and freedom. It includes spoken word, movement, poetry, visual art, eurythmy, magic, song, puppetry. The writing of the script and staging of these shows are funded by Creative Scotland. This is a ticketed event and prior booking is required. Please do not turn up without having booked. Donations at booking are welcome and will be passed on to the Salisbury Centre. These may be made through the card reader at the entrance or online. Please use as payment reference 'Balancing'. Hosted by Simon Burfoot FMPA, ABIPP, ARPS, who is the Technical Director of Elinchrom UK. Simon is a qualified photographer and lighting tutor who is best known for his lighting courses. If you want to take your photography to the next level and understand how to shape and manipulate light then look no further! This workshop will teach you how to control light using modifiers and reflectors and get as much right in-camera to save you a lot of time in post-production. Simon will go through everything from simple one-light setups and the differences between hard & soft/matt & specular light sources; to the effect these have on the subject in terms of ‘in-camera’ skin smoothing and the control of exposure with your camera’s aperture. This course is aimed at beginners or those using speedlights who want to become more creative in their studio or out on location, you’ll leave the workshop with the confidence to recreate the setups, understand the techniques and be able to put them into practice. You should leave with the confidence to be able to recreate this set up having gained a firm understanding of the techniques. You will need to bring with you the following: - Your camera and lenses - A spare battery - A memory card All Elinchrom flash equipment is provided along with triggers. A pen and paper is also handy for making notes throughout the day. The workshop will be held at the SIM Imaging showroom in Hatfield who specialise in beautifully handmade photo products designed for professional photographers. Lunch and Refreshments are available on the day together with free parking on site. As an exclusive to SIM customers this workshop is offered at only £70 for a day of expert training!
