5-Star Hotels in Yunnan, China

Excellent 5-diamond hotel in the best location for holiday in Kunming. Easily our favourite hotel on our trip to Yunnan. Nanping Pedestrian Street and Shuncheng Shopping Centre are less than 5 minutes walk away. Kunming Old Street is not too far away either. Our room was spacious, modern, clean and nicely decorated. Nice view from the windows. No smoke smell. The bathroom, vanity area and toilets were thoughtfully designed. There was even a portable clothes steamer in our room. Little details that made our stay more comfortable. The were plenty of washing machines and dryers that were free for us to use. We didn’t even need to wait around for clothes to finish washing. The helpful staff there would help us transfer our washed clothes into the dryer. We just had to provide our room number, and the staff would keep the dried clothes into laundry bags for us to collect later. Best laundry service in any hotel in the world! The breakfast buffet offered lots of choices.

The hotel's design is truly unique and thoughtful, and the service was proactively attentive and thorough. They even provided a complimentary extra bed for our party of three. The room layout was very practical, with the walk-in closet seamlessly connecting to the bathroom. I especially loved the Kohler brushed faucets – definitely adding them to my wishlist! The hotel is directly connected to Plaza 66, which was incredibly convenient for picking up anything we forgot. Next door is the Stone House in Camellia Park, perfect for an afternoon unwind. And right across the street is the Kunming Flying Tigers Memorial Museum (a poignant reminder that not all things last forever…).

Just checked out and I have to give it a perfect score! The hotel is right next to Liaokuo Park, with lush greenery right outside the window, a tranquil and pleasant environment. The room was clean and spacious, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the toiletries were exquisite and thoughtful – even the details showed attention to detail. The service was also heartwarming; the front desk was efficient, and the staff greeted us proactively. The breakfast selection was incredibly diverse, offering both local specialties and Chinese and Western dishes, all authentically delicious. Convenient transportation and complete facilities – it completely exceeded my expectations. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Qujing!

Facilities: The facilities are comprehensive and the hotel is very family-friendly. Kids' amenities are already in the room, and you can request latex pillows for both children and adults, which makes sleeping much more comfortable. Hygiene: The room was cleaned promptly every day and kept spotless. Even when I forgot to put out the 'please clean' sign, they called to ask if cleaning was needed. Contrary to my expectations, there weren't many mosquitoes, and I wasn't bitten at all, which is incredibly important. Environment: It's a rainforest garden-style hotel with a shuttle service, or you can walk along the connecting corridor and enjoy the hotel's beautiful scenery. Service: They proactively contacted me before my stay to introduce the hotel's family activities schedule. They also checked if I was satisfied with the hotel and the food. When my child got acute gastroenteritis from eating sorbet at the botanical garden, they thoughtfully brought over some noodles, which was very heartwarming. My child also found the stay very comfortable.

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this place really surprised me (in a good way). First off, the breakfast – I’m not usually a big breakfast person, but I actually looked forward to it every morning. Huge selection, and everything was fresh. Pastries, eggs, fresh fruit, local dishes, you name it. Even my picky eater family member found something they liked. The staff were just genuinely nice. Not that fake “customer service” smile, but actually kind and helpful. One person at reception even remembered my room number when I asked for an extra key – small thing, but it stood out. The room was way bigger than I expected. We had space to spread out, which never happens in hotels. And it was clean – no weird smells or stained carpets. But the view – that was the real win. Woke up, opened the curtains, and just stood there for a minute. Best view I’ve had from a hotel, hands down. Would I stay again? Absolutely. Already recommended it to a friend.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic! Shannyn's service was excellent, and the whole place really gives off a relaxing vacation vibe. It's especially great for families with kids because of all the animals they have – black swans, miniature horses, sheepdogs, alpacas, and goats. In the mornings, you can even feed the fish, which my child loved. The breakfast was delicious, and there's a complimentary tea-tasting area. The rooms are a lovely blend of modern and traditional Chinese styles. I particularly liked that the toilet and shower areas are completely separate and in different spots, and the toilet even has its own sink. When I first checked in late at night, I asked for a crib, and the front desk said I'd need to come back in the morning since it was so late. I actually didn't bother going back the next day because I thought we'd manage without it, but to my surprise, we found a crib already in our room – that was such a thoughtful touch! The hotel's paid restaurant is also really good; the food is healthy with just the right amount of salt. They also have hot spring baths and a sauna, and the shower stalls are private. Plus, the hotel offers traditional costume and wedding dress photography, which is amazing! I seriously recommend this place. While I wasn't a fan of other attractions in Lijiang, I truly loved this hotel. And the pool isn't cold either!

Facilities: The hotel's facilities are superb! The bedding in the room is comfortable, the toiletries are complete and of great quality, and basic amenities like air conditioning and hot water run smoothly. The smart room control system is also very convenient to use. In the public areas, the fitness and lounge areas are well-equipped with brand new and well-maintained equipment, and the public area hygiene is also exceptionally good. Service: This stay was fantastic, and I must highlight Minnie and George Chai at the front desk for their exceptionally professional and attentive service. Check-in and check-out were super efficient, they were smiling throughout, and patiently explained the hotel facilities and provided tips for local attractions and dining. Their thoughtfulness was evident in every detail. Any questions we had were answered instantly, and their attitude was gentle and considerate, adding so much warmth to our trip. Their excellent service truly made our entire stay perfect. I highly recommend this hotel and commend Minnie and George Chai for their outstanding service!

This hotel had been on my 'favorites' list for a while, so my expectations were quite high. After my stay, I'm a bit disappointed. **Facilities:** The hotel has a gym, kids' room, and entertainment room. The kids' room is quite basic and unsupervised. The entertainment room, with billiards and table tennis, is decent. The gym was empty, and the equipment was new; the changing rooms were excellent. The cocktails at the lobby bar were pretty average, but the live singer was good. The breakfast buffet had limited variety and the taste was just okay. The Chinese restaurant offers group deals, and the food was acceptable, but nothing special. Honestly, there aren't many good dining options nearby, so you're mostly stuck with the hotel's. **Hygiene:** The room environment was fine and quite spacious. Be careful with mosquitoes – don't leave the door open easily. When they provided children's toiletries, there was no mouthwash cup. I hope they can include one in the future, as glass cups are quite dangerous for kids. **Environment:** Overall, the hotel's environment is very comfortable and great for photos. **Service:** The service isn't quite up to par. Staff members aren't very enthusiastic when they see guests. The shuttle bus driver was great and very nice. Generally, the staff members I encountered weren't very friendly. For a hotel in this price range, I feel the service awareness is a bit lacking. **Dongfengyun Characteristic Town Tickets & Sightseeing Car Tickets:** This saved us some money, and the shuttle bus drops you right at the scenic spot entrance, which is very convenient. **5 Digitally Retouched Travel Photos (requires advance booking):** The photographer was very nice, and the photos were ready quickly. He also provided good 'emotional value' (meaning he was good at making us feel comfortable and happy during the shoot).

As the only five-star hotel in Mangshi, although the facilities are old, the management and service are still very good. It is located in the city center, with a spacious courtyard for convenient parking. There are many green plants in the courtyard, including the sweet-scented osmanthus tree planted by Premier Zhou more than 60 years ago. The room is very clean, and there are many varieties of breakfast with local specialties. The accommodation price is not high, and the cost performance is very good.

I consider the Pullman a solid five-star hotel. Everything was great, and the room had a fantastic view, looking directly onto Dali Port Wharf. The service was excellent; they were very accommodating to all requests. Most importantly, the cleanliness was impeccable, even in all the hidden corners. The room was quiet and the breakfast was superb! If I return to Dali, I'll definitely choose the Pullman again!
