Best beach view but like the rest of Langkawi it’s just missing a few things. The family pool is sensational…but it’s pebblecrete, so it’ll tear up feet if you’re in there doing anything active. The pool bar opens at midday, so it’s definitely not set for early swimmers who might want a juice and snack. No lifeguard and almost no kids pool area. The pool was 1.1 to 1.5m deep so not toddler friendly. The rooms were great but limited lift access so a nice 3rd floor view has three flights of stairs. They have a reading room, which is a nice, air-conditioned lounge, but it only opens at 11am. The main restaurant has… average food. It’s not what you’d hope. They have the Chefs Table Restaurant wich was more expensive but actually had good food. It was hot in there though. We went in end of March and it was 32/32 degrees every day. Overall it’s a nice place and close to the mangrove tours but it just falls short of being really good. But that’s pretty much all of Langkawi. Staff were really nice.

The hotel is well-maintained, and the breakfast is consistently good! The fishing trip was a lot of fun, caught plenty of fish. However, I'd recommend booking the mangrove tour elsewhere (the hotel's mangrove tour didn't feature any bats). The beach is very clean, but there aren't many small creatures (like hermit crabs...). The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Choosing this hotel for our anniversary was definitely the right decision. All in all, it truly is one of Langkawi's top hotels.

The Pelangi Beach Resort in Langkawi is a beachfront resort. From the main entrance, it's a bit of a walk to the lobby. The lobby itself has that distinct resort vibe, with a high ceiling adorned with several large, beautiful chandeliers. It's open from front to back, so you can see the view from the other side directly from the entrance. This is where you check-in, request a golf buggy, and there's also a lobby bar in the middle. Stepping out from the lobby, you'll find one of the infinity pools. Beyond the pool are kids' amenities, including a water slide, and then it's straight to the beach. To the right are the guest accommodations, which are all individual wooden chalets. Some are single-story, while others are two stories high, with guests on both levels. No matter where you stay, you'll either face a lake or the pool, and the views are absolutely stunning. In addition, there's another pool called the Caesar Pool. This one is quite unique, with a swim-up bar. You can swim right up to the bar and order drinks. Normally, swim-up bars charge to your room, but here they only accept credit cards or cash, which is a bit odd. Who carries a credit card or cash while swimming? As I mentioned, the entire resort is made up of wooden chalets. We stayed in a family room, which had two beds – one double and one single – perfect for a family of three. The room has a ceiling fan and a door leading out to a small private terrace. You can sit here and gaze at the sea. There are also two sun loungers outside, belonging to the chalet, where you can sunbathe, enjoy the breeze, and watch the ocean – it's incredibly relaxing. The bathroom in the room is spacious, with a toilet, shower, and bathtub. At the end of the bathtub, there are louvered blinds that you can open to reveal a beautiful view, making for a very pleasant soak. The entire resort feels very natural and rustic, with sun loungers dotted along the beach. There’s a peculiar type of tree that looks wild and wind-swept, like messy hair. There are also many coconut trees, and if you look closely, you'll notice that the trunks have been cut with notches, creating footholds for climbing. I assume this is because ripe coconuts often fall naturally here. I even saw a coconut on the path during a walk, so I imagine they have people climb up to harvest the nearly ripe ones to prevent them from hitting anyone. Furthermore, the beach here faces southwest, offering spectacular sunsets. The resort's restaurants are famous internationally for this. There's also a beach where guests can swim. However, the restaurants are very open to nature, so there are a lot of seabirds; sometimes they'll even swoop down and snatch food from your plate while you're eating. There are also quite a few small insects, which you'll have to accept if you stay at the resort. But being so close to the sea, soaking up the sun and swimming is truly relaxing. While this hotel may not have the same prestige as the Four Seasons, it offers excellent value for money and is definitely worth recommending.

Book sea view studio at a higher price due to the Chinese New Year holidays. Waited for almost 2 over hrs before room is ready when close to 3pm. However was very disappointed when check into room n as seaview studio room on 7th floor is blocked by a hill in the center n major construction looking down from the balcony. Request for a change of room to higher floor, view rooms on 2 other higher floors and finally settled on the 11th floor which is a better seaview eventot the hill in front with construction site is still there. Would rate the hotel only at probably 4 stars or below with average rooms furnishings , average spread breakfast, spots bad maintained cleanliness over the public areas n a rooftop which is squeezing all sunbathe chairs n tables n a bar with an average size swimming pool. Reception staffs are not as well trained but they are trying their best to fulfill most guests queries. The rooftop is quite windy but offers good photo view. This hotel should be relatively new only opened a few years ago but idoesn’t match the prices of a 5 stars or 5 diamonds rated.

My stay at The Datai Langkawi was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the rainforest with direct access to the beach, the resort offers the perfect blend of nature and luxury. From the moment I arrived, I felt a deep sense of peace and serenity. The service was truly remarkable — every staff member made me feel warmly welcomed and well taken care of. Breakfast was a highlight, with an incredible spread and even free-flow champagne, making mornings extra special. I celebrated my birthday here and it was the best I’ve ever had — unforgettable in every way. I especially loved the adult-only pool, which was so quiet and peaceful, a perfect place to unwind and soak in the surroundings. The Datai has left me with beautiful memories and I will definitely return. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a serene, luxurious getaway.

Location, convenience, beach, ambiance, rooms, entertainment, dining – there's hardly anything to complain about. If I had to nitpick, first, there are too few designated smoking areas! Second, the rooftop infinity pool is strictly for guests aged 18 and above, which feels quite unreasonable. Many guests come with their families, and it's not like you can just ditch your kids to go for a swim. This policy excludes many from enjoying the experience. For breakfast, try to go early and grab a seat near the water for a great experience. The hotel is situated on Cenang Beach, which has very fine sand. The water isn't crystal clear, but it's acceptable. The room's minibar offers a good variety of drinks, plus two small snack bags that are refilled daily by the staff. You absolutely MUST choose a sea-view room. We opted for the Premium Sea View, which had an L-shaped sofa on the balcony. I actually slept there one night, facing the ocean, under the moonlight, and falling asleep to the sound of the waves – it was absolutely wonderful. The room was also spacious enough, nearly 70 square meters, making it very comfortable for a family of three. The gym doesn't have a huge variety of equipment, but it's sufficient and open 24 hours. There are two pools: one for adults and one for all ages. Regarding food, the hotel has several restaurants, and there's also a beach BBQ with a fire dance show for 198 per person, which isn't expensive. It's also not far from Zhong Hua Seafood Restaurant and Hidden Bar, making dining very convenient. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Langkawi.

The hotel is brand new! It opened a week before our arrival. The architecture and design are eco-friendly. Natural wood and marble are everywhere. Sand, beige, and gray tones predominate in the interior. Stunning areas of natural greenery in the wells of the buildings. The rooms are luxurious; everything is very high-quality, spacious, and new. We loved the scents of the body care products in the rooms. Disposable flip-flops and a beach bag are provided. The grounds are compact with numerous paths and outdoor seating areas for relaxing. A huge rectangular pool. The lounge chairs are comfortable, and coolers with water and glasses are available by the pool. There's a separate, private pool for adults only. There's also a children's pool with a small composition of water fountains in neutral shades, which fits perfectly with the overall eco-style concept of the hotel. In the lobby, you can enjoy delicious filter coffee, brewed especially for you! A rarity in Malaysia. The Italian restaurant on the beach offers excellent cuisine! Breakfast is unlimited and available from the à la carte menu. The beach is in a secluded bay, next to the Berjaya Hotel (we stayed there for three days, and I'll write a review). The beach is fantastic! Quiet, clean, and peaceful. The staff is very pleasant, open, and friendly, as are all Malaysians. Since the hotel opened earlier than planned, work is underway on the rooms, buildings, and landscaping. However, this doesn't detract from the peace and quiet. The Hilton is definitely one of the highest quality hotels in Langkawi! I recommend it for a quiet, relaxing getaway!

An impressive hotel where everything was perfect 😍. What left a lasting impression wasn't just the beautiful scenery, like the ocean views, watching monkeys, and witnessing sunrises and sunsets, but also the staff's smiles and perfectly balanced, warm service. The complimentary mini-bar in the room was incredibly well-stocked, and the quality of the items and every little detail were meticulously chosen. Dining at Haiyan restaurant and Beach Grill, we enjoyed not only delicious food but also the stunning sunset and ocean views. We'll definitely bring more family members back next time!

MMeinvxingxingThe room layout was very well designed and practical. They even had a capsule coffee machine, which was a nice touch. The pool and outdoor areas were beautiful. What I really appreciated was that getting to the beach and pool from the hotel wasn't as far a walk as it often is in China. The breakfast was plentiful, although my Chinese palate wasn't entirely used to some of the offerings. The beach was great for shell-collecting, with lots of shellfish. Overall, a really good experience! Just a heads-up, there's no Chinese-speaking staff, and it's mostly European guests.

AAnonymous UserI had an excellent time at The Danna and highly recommend anyone who is looking for a place to relax and chill in Langkawi. Here are some of the highlights of my stay: - Friendly and smiley staff who attended to all my requests and enquiries. - Beautiful British colonial style architecture and design with spacious hallways, high ceilings and lovely greenery in the centre of the building. There was a lovely lotus pond outside my room which was so delicately nurtured and sustained that it looked like a piece of artwork. - The refreshing and relaxing smell of orchid / lily scattered all around the hotel. - I stayed in the Viceroy Room (King bed) which was very spacious, clean, quiet and consistent with the British colonial architect. There was a terrace in my room which I could enjoy the stunning views of sunrise and sunset every day. I felt highly pampered using the Jo Malone bath amenities! - Amazing Italian food at the Terrace, and nice buffet brunch at Planter’s. Shoutout to the talented pianist Emzac who played impromptu classic Cantonesen jazz every morning - he made me felt home! Although the hotel was located far away from town and the beach side restaurants which could be a bit inconvenient to commute, The Danna is a place where you can spend the entire day relaxing and resting without realising how quickly the time passed by!
