Fantastic! Exceeded my expectations. The swimming pool is great for families (two adults, one child), and the water is quite clean. Plus, there's a slide! Inside the hotel, there's a huge swing set that's perfect for photos. Breakfast offers a wide variety, including both Southeast Asian and Western options. The fruits are incredibly fresh, and the jackfruit was especially delicious. All the hotel staff are very nice and have excellent attitudes. They also provide complimentary bicycles for guests, including both single and tandem bikes. Our room had a partial sea view, and all the amenities were very clean. The outlets are international, so I didn't need a travel adapter at all. I highly recommend watching a fire show. You can find many options just a 10-minute walk down the beach. When walking along the beach, you can really notice that the sand at the hotel's section is much finer than elsewhere.

We were traveling as a family and wanted to book a guesthouse with multiple rooms. Initially, we noticed there weren't many reviews on Ctrip, so we checked other international platforms and found the reviews to be quite positive. After comparing prices, we decided to book through Ctrip because it was cheaper. It's important to note that you need to contact the hotel directly via WhatsApp before check-in. The number is the same as the one on your confirmation. Send them your confirmation, and they will provide you with check-in instructions. The rooms were very nice, with large windows and a distant view of the sea. The kitchen was well-equipped with cups, plates, and cutlery. The air conditioning and water heater were powerful, but remember to turn them on a little before showering. The door has an old-fashioned lock; you need to lock it with a key when leaving, otherwise it can be easily opened. There are convenience stores and bakeries nearby, and it's about a 10-minute taxi ride from the main attractions, which is quite convenient.

Check-in: we arrived after midnight. No problem. Room: stayed in a twin bedroom. Tall ceiling, spacious. Toilet and shower cubicles are separated. Good layout. No complaints! Communal area: some people say the maintenance is not up to standard. I saw some water stains on the wall. To me it’s no big deal. Location: walkable distance to Komtar Building on 1st street to Lebuh Cecil Pasar on 7th street, and to Hins bus depot. Very good! Beyond that better take Grab. Breakfast: good selection. Ok quality. Good view. Check out: we used the left luggage service but it took more than 10 mins to get back. So factor in more time to avoid tight schedule to the airport. Overall: I have no problem to return to this hotel when it’s still relatively new!

The hotel's location is excellent. There's a mall right downstairs, making shopping and dining super convenient. It's also close to other tourist attractions, and getting a taxi is quick and easy! We even ran into Chinese celebrity Huang Xiaoming and others promoting a movie at Gurney Plaza during our stay.

One of the things our family especially appreciated was the kids’ playroom ,it was clean, well-equipped, and kept our little one happily entertained. It made our stay even more relaxing knowing there was a safe and fun space for children. The overall atmosphere was calm and welcoming, and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. We would definitely choose to stay here again and highly recommend it to families visiting Penang.

The Eastern & Oriental Hotel in Penang is a five-star hotel brimming with history, located in the George Town heritage area, and it's the only five-star hotel by the sea in the city center. The hotel is divided into the Victory Annexe and the Heritage Wing. Although the Heritage Wing is currently closed for renovations, the Victory Annexe still offers a comfortable stay. The rooms are spacious with vintage decor, and the infinity pool with sea views is impressive. Breakfast is varied and delicious. The hotel's location is excellent, within walking distance of Penang's main attractions, such as Mural Street and the Kimberley Street Night Market. In terms of service, the hotel provides private airport transfers and luggage assistance, demonstrating a high standard of service. Despite some facility limitations due to renovations, the overall value for money is still very high, making it suitable for travelers who appreciate a blend of history and modernity.

Centrally located in George Town, it's super convenient to get anywhere. There are plenty of convenience stores and eateries nearby, and most attractions are within easy city walking distance. The hotel itself has a unique charm, with the swimming pool visible right from the corridor outside our room. 😂 The complimentary snacks were quite tasty, I even wanted to take a picture to find them at a convenience store later. However, I then realized they were a month past their expiration date! The hotel really needs to pay more attention to details like that. 🥲

The rooms are great and the pool is beautiful, perfect for a 'staycation'. The bar next door has a fantastic fire show in the evenings, and the singer is really good, creating an amazing atmosphere. Breakfast was also delicious.
