THE MOST AMAZING HOTE I HAVE EVER STAYED IN 10/10
1. Hotel Locaiton: Perfect as its not in the city and by the beach, amazing for relaxation. Hotel is surrounded by souvenir shops and street food. 10miute walk from Ferringhi Walk where there is a nice selection of street food but my favourite of all is that its just a 2 minute walk from my favorite restaurant in Malaysia, Ferringhi Garden. Penang trip isnt complete without going to Ferringhi Garden. Its an amazing restaurant with the most beautiful collection of plants, there is no other place like it in Malaysia.
2. The Hotel: Nothing bad to say about it. The design, the decor, everything about this hotel makes me want to stay there even longer. Its such a nice feeling being there. Facilities are clean and complete.
3. The Room: CLEAN. NICE. SPACIOUS. BEAUTIFUL. Every inch of the room is to my liking, i could not have asked for more. Mattress is thick and oh so comfortable. Aircond was cold. Room was very spacious.
4.The Buffet: The room came with breakfast for 2 and it was the perfect buffet to start each day with. Selection was incredible even better than a lot of buffet Ramadan Ive been to. They had everything from selections of breads, to nasi lemak with 12 different sambals, 5 different meat dishes to eat it with, assorted fruits, assorted cheeses, 2 types of porridge with the FULL suites of condiments, salads, pastries, roti canai with all the curries you will ever need, to your above average selection of continental breakfast menus like, beef bacon, beef and chicken sausages, hash browns, deli meats, smoked fish. And there is more! there is a made-to-order menu which many patrons are not aware of. I tried the minute steak and it was good!(pictured below)
PS: Hakimi from breakfast service was spectacular, I requested strawberries for my picky 2 year old and he delivered. On the other hand, ANIS FROM THE OMELETTE STATION WAS RUDE TO MY WIFE, SHE NEEDS TO IMPROVE HER SOCIAL SKILLS(this is my one and only complain)
Overall my stay was 10/10 and this will be the ONLY hotel i will be staying at if when im at Batu Ferringhi. I plan to go to Park Royal Batu Ferringhi Annually, its just that good!
We were traveling as a family and wanted to book a guesthouse with multiple rooms. Initially, we noticed there weren't many reviews on Ctrip, so we checked other international platforms and found the reviews to be quite positive. After comparing prices, we decided to book through Ctrip because it was cheaper.
It's important to note that you need to contact the hotel directly via WhatsApp before check-in. The number is the same as the one on your confirmation. Send them your confirmation, and they will provide you with check-in instructions.
The rooms were very nice, with large windows and a distant view of the sea. The kitchen was well-equipped with cups, plates, and cutlery. The air conditioning and water heater were powerful, but remember to turn them on a little before showering. The door has an old-fashioned lock; you need to lock it with a key when leaving, otherwise it can be easily opened. There are convenience stores and bakeries nearby, and it's about a 10-minute taxi ride from the main attractions, which is quite convenient.
Check-in: we arrived after midnight. No problem.
Room: stayed in a twin bedroom. Tall ceiling, spacious. Toilet and shower cubicles are separated. Good layout. No complaints!
Communal area: some people say the maintenance is not up to standard. I saw some water stains on the wall. To me it’s no big deal.
Location: walkable distance to Komtar Building on 1st street to Lebuh Cecil Pasar on 7th street, and to Hins bus depot. Very good! Beyond that better take Grab.
Breakfast: good selection. Ok quality. Good view.
Check out: we used the left luggage service but it took more than 10 mins to get back. So factor in more time to avoid tight schedule to the airport.
Overall: I have no problem to return to this hotel when it’s still relatively new!
The hotel's location is excellent. There's a mall right downstairs, making shopping and dining super convenient. It's also close to other tourist attractions, and getting a taxi is quick and easy! We even ran into Chinese celebrity Huang Xiaoming and others promoting a movie at Gurney Plaza during our stay.
We booked this hotel to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The hotel thoughtfully arranged a birthday decoration in the room and even prepared a birthday cake, which was very attentive! The view from the hotel is also great—you can see the bay as well.
One small downside is that the toilet bow water pressure is quite low, so it needs to be flushed a few times to be completely clean. But overall, we are very satisfied with our stay.
I feel this is the best hotel in Penang, and even in all of Malaysia. The entire hotel has a European design. We stayed in the new building, and all the facilities and room amenities were brand new. The room was spacious, and the bathroom, in particular, was the largest of all the hotels we've stayed in during this trip to Malaysia. I absolutely loved the balcony, with its pure French black and white style. Sitting there, sipping coffee and enjoying the sea view, while feeling the warm ocean breeze – it was simply delightful! 👍 The restaurant offered a wide variety of dishes, and the ingredients were excellent. The waitstaff were all very attentive. I really liked the pool on the sixth floor; in the afternoon, it's perfectly shaded from the sun, making it easy to doze off on a lounge chair in the warm breeze. 😃 The hotel's location is superb. It's within walking distance to the old town, the old city hall, and the church. For the first time, I saw several street food stalls that had received Michelin recognition – the food was absolutely delicious!
I booked a sea-view room right next to Gurney Drive. It was convenient to grab a meal downstairs, and the breakfast was excellent. The pool is on the second floor and open until 8 PM, but it gets no sun after 4 PM. A dip in the pool was perfect for unwinding after a long day of sightseeing. The service was superb and very attentive.
This hotel's location is excellent, and the manager and all the Chinese staff are incredibly welcoming and genuinely friendly. The manager specifically pointed out a nearby laundry service, which turned out to be very convenient, and the massage parlor next door is also great. The lobby has a wonderful historical gallery detailing the hotel's past, which I found particularly impressive since other hotels I've stayed at don't offer such detailed insights. On the second floor, the elevator area provides a very thorough introduction to Peranakan culture and customs.
The room layout is practical, and it's quite spacious. They provided delicious snacks and a complimentary minibar. The sofa bed in the living area can be pulled out, making it perfect for a family of four. In the evenings, there's live music, which is fantastic; enjoying a complimentary drink while listening to the songs is truly relaxing.
The breakfast on the second day was also excellent. They had live charcoal-grilled bread, soft-boiled eggs, and the Penang curry mee broth was incredibly rich – certainly on par with what you'd find outside. The Nasi Lemak was standard. Overall, breakfast was quite good.
The only minor complaint is that there was some dirt in the crevices of the toilet in the bathroom. However, the manager immediately called the head of housekeeping to inspect it, showing great dedication and responsibility. Also, despite the hotel facing the road and my room being on the second floor, the soundproof windows are top-notch; once closed, you can barely hear any noise.
In conclusion, while the price isn't low, overall, it offers good value for money. I highly recommend it.
The rooms are great and the pool is beautiful, perfect for a 'staycation'. The bar next door has a fantastic fire show in the evenings, and the singer is really good, creating an amazing atmosphere. Breakfast was also delicious.
The location is fantastic, right by two large shopping malls, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient—just a three to four-minute walk away. While you'll need a taxi to get to the old town attractions, it means the area is much quieter.
There's a Hua Yang restaurant right under the nearby Gurney Plaza, and the wait times are much shorter than in Kuala Lumpur, so I finally got to eat there!
The facilities are a bit lacking and can't compare to five-star hotels in China.
However, the service is excellent, and they even offer a shuttle bus.
Breakfast was a bit disappointing; they start clearing up right on time, and the variety isn't huge.
Overall, the service was very good and proactive.

SStitch626We had a pleasant stay in a sea view room with a truly fantastic view. The staff were also lovely and very helpful. However, we did have a minor hygiene concern as we saw two bugs coming out of the pipes near the sink and bathtub.
On the dining side, the breakfast included is tasty and authentic, and the variety is good—the DIY curry noodles (with a choice of vermicelli, mee, or kuay teow) were a highlight! That said, breakfast service was a bit let down by slow refills. Even with an hour left, there was no teh or kopi available. The machine coffee was also quite poor, tasting like bitter water without any aroma. A few tweaks to maintenance and breakfast logistics would make this a top-tier stay.

MMuhaeniThe hotel provides excellent service, with friendly and attentive staff who are always ready to assist. From check-in to check-out, the experience is smooth and welcoming, making guests feel comfortable throughout their stay.
In addition, the location is very strategic and the view very attractive. It is conveniently situated near popular attractions, dining spots, and essential amenities, making it easy for guests to explore the surrounding area. Overall, the combination of great service and a prime location makes this hotel a highly recommended choice.

GGuest UserThis five-star hotel, priced at a little over 400 [currency unit, e.g., MYR], offers incredible value for money, not just in Malaysia but anywhere. The breakfast is great, and kids eat free. On our departure day, after a quick chat, we were able to check out at 2 PM. They provide unlimited bottled water for the room, which saved us quite a bit. The water park next door is perfect for kids around ten years old, though it gets too sunny in the afternoon to really enjoy for long. The only downside is that the hotel feels like an island; you can't walk to grab a meal or visit a convenience store. The road outside has no sidewalks, so you're constantly relying on taxis. Taxis, taxis, taxis! That was a real pain. On a final note, the hotel pool is fantastic – hardly anyone there and super clean.

GGuest UserI found out about this hotel, part of the Marriott brand, through the TV show 'Outbound Love'. It has a colonial Nanyang style, and while it's not a huge property, it's very refined. The suite has a separate room with a double bed. The pool is clean and there's a kids' pool too. Overall, the room was clean and the bedding was tidy. The breakfast isn't super extensive, but the rice noodles and Teh Tarik (pulled tea) were excellent. There was a welcome drink, and the service was warm and attentive, though I had trouble getting through to housekeeping by phone. The beach isn't owned by the hotel, and while there are boats, it's not ideal for swimming. The area around is very convenient with food options and a supermarket. The Shangri-La is right next door, and there's a mosque nearby, so you can hear the prayers clearly. My room faced the street, and I could hear motorcycles at night.
LLee Ah JiaGreat hospitality and service throughout my stay in Penang Amari Spice Hotel. Upon arrival, the reception team kindly upgraded me to a Premier King room without any request, which was a wonderful surprise. The room was spacious, clean, well-maintained, and had a pleasant scent—everything was excellent.
I would like to express my utmost appreciation to the midnight team on 21/03/2026. During our stay, my friend suddenly fell seriously ill during midnight . We attempted to call emergency services (999), but unfortunately were unable to get through to the nearby general hospital immediately. The situation was critical, and waiting another 10–20 minutes could have put my friend’s life at risk.
Thankfully, the Penang Amari hotel team acted swiftly and professionally. They followed up with us, and the female manager along with the guy management team arrived promptly to assess the situation. They provided immediate support and helped arrange transportation to the nearest hospital, ensuring we arrived within 10 minutes.
Thanks to their quick response and care, my friend’s life was saved. And even after check out they still texting us to concern on the guest safety. We are deeply grateful for their kindness, efficiency, and dedication during such a critical moment.
Wishing the entire team continued success and all the very best. Thank you once again for going above and beyond. Peharps this able to fully credit to the team.
