About Air Canada

Air Canada (AC) is the largest airline and flag carrier of Canada. Founded in 1937, it is headquartered in Saint-Laurent, Montreal, Quebec. The airline operates from its main hubs at Toronto Pearson International Airport and Montreal-Trudeau International Airport, and Vancouver International Airport. Air Canada provides scheduled and charter air transport for passengers and cargo to 222 destinations worldwide. It is a founding member of the Star Alliance, the world's largest global airline alliance, established in 1997. Air Canada's origins can be traced back to Trans-Canada Air Lines (TCA), which commenced operations with a coast-to-coast flight on September 1, 1937. The airline became fully privatized in 1989. Now with approximately 35,700 staff members, Air Canada has grown to become a major player in the global airline industry, serving millions of passengers annually.
