From the moment I landed, I knew this stay would be special. I was collected from the airport in a luxury Jaguar , (completely free) and transported again at departure, including complimentary trips to and from the city centre. Actual VIP treatment from start to finish .... something I have never experienced anywhere else.
Because my flights didnât match standard hotel times, the team kindly allowed early check-in and late check-out at no extra cost, which took away all travel stress and made my stay even more comfortable. That flexibility meant everything to me.
Every single staff member was amazingly warm, professional, and genuinely caring. Although I sadly didnât manage to catch the names of the wonderful ladies at reception, they were absolutely incredible and deserve huge praise. Special mention to Tomas â such a professional, friendly, standout member of the team. I later found out his birthday was on Thursday 4th, and I wish I had the chance to say Happy Birthday before I left!
The location is perfect â close to shops, cafĂ©s, and restaurants, making it easy to explore Porto while still enjoying a calm, comfortable stay.
The room was immaculate â spotlessly clean, cosy, and beautifully prepared. And the amenities were next-level:
Mini-bar, tea and coffee station with kettle, plush slippers, bathrobe, bottled water......everything thoughtfully provided. I was welcomed with a welcome drink on arrival, and a fresh fruit tray waiting in my room. Nothing felt standard, everything felt intentional.
What truly sets this hotel apart is the attention to detail. There is a clear sense of care, love, and purpose in every interaction and every small touch. Youâre not treated like just another guest , you are genuinely looked after.
I honestly cannot fault a single thing about this stay. Hotel Jaguar Porto combines luxury service with real warmth and heart, a rare find.
If youâre heading to Porto and looking for an experience that goes far beyond accommodation, this is THE hotel to book.
100% recommended. I will absolutely be back. âšđ

Guest UserI stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights, and it was hands down the best decision of my entire trip to Porto. If any of my friends or family visit Porto, I would literally force them to book this place. If you are debating between this and a slightly cheaper, mediocre hotel, do yourself a favor and choose this residence. It offers absolute value for money.
1. Unbeatable Location
The location is incredibleâliterally right next to SĂŁo Bento Station. If you walk down the slope right across the street, you end up right under the Dom LuĂs I Bridge. If you walk up the slope to the left, you can reach Jardim do Morro in just about 8 minutes. Having the metro station right outside means you can easily get anywhere, whether itâs Rua de Santa Catarina or the Gaia district. It was so convenient that I could visit a tourist spot, come back to the room for a quick nap, and head out again for evening sightseeing.
2. Excellent Room Condition & Value
The condition of the residence is top-notch. Instead of spending money on an awkwardly priced, lower-quality hotel, staying here gives you premium comfort for an amazing price. It is truly the perfect budget-friendly luxury.
3. Fantastic Amenities (Washing Machine & Cooktop)
Whether Porto is your first stop or you are coming from Lisbon, youâll eventually need to do laundry or crave some comfort food. The room comes equipped with a washing machine and an induction cooktop. It was amazing to be able to do my piled-up laundry and cook some ramen after buying groceries at the supermarket. This feature alone makes it a must-stay destination during your journey.
[Conclusion]
This place is flawless in terms of location, price, and convenience. Don't hesitateâjust book it. You won't regret it!

We were given a nice, clean room on an upper floor with a pretty view. The bathroom was on the right through a sliding door when you entered the room. It was spacious with a shower and a bathtub. Good breakfast! The roasted tomatoes were superb and it should be a dish available every morning at the buffet.

The hotel has both pros and cons. Location is not the best for sightseeing, itâs about a 10-minute walk to the nearest metro, then a few stops to the main attractions, which can be inconvenient especially in rainy weather. On the plus side, itâs right next to a lively market/food court with lots of local bites, and thereâs even a supermarket inside.
The staff were very kind, spoke good uEnglish, and even provided a welcome plate with fruits and egg tarts, which was a lovely touch. The room itself was nicer than the photos: spacious, very clean, with a safe box, closet, and separate bathroom and toilet. Breakfast was plentiful with many varieties, though it was the same selection every day.
A few downsides: the cleaning staff entered my room twice while I was inside (once early in the morning while I was asleep, and another time while I was in the bathroom). They may have knocked, but it still felt intrusive. The window setup was also awkward, my room faced the lobby, so I had to keep the curtain closed the whole stay for privacy, which made the room dark.
Overall, itâs a comfortable hotel with great staff, but the location isnât ideal if you want to be close to main attractions. If the price is good compared to the ones in the center, then it could be a good choose as taxis to the center cost about âŹ5 one way. Otherwise, Iâd probably choose somewhere in the more central area next time.

Lovely apartment, but has some niggling things which could be improved. However, one thing I imagine canât be improved is the amount of natural sunlight coming in. I stayed in building 339, floor 3 apartment 10. The windows are either too small to let much light in, or itâs facing another side of the building into someone elseâs apartment. When I first entered, I also had 6 different flies of all sizes in the kitchen area. When I queried about this, itâs apparently an issue in the warmer seasons. I didnât let these flies in, so they must have been let in when cleaning the apartment.
The other issue was, the floors werenât cleaned very well with crumbs in corners. However, the bedding and towels smelt lovely and were clean.
I would have liked flatter pillows, the once they have are way too high and caused neck pains, but this seems to be a thing in Portugal as other places Iâve stayed have a similar setting.
The shower has no proper seal to stop water from flooding the bathroom floor, other than a piece of silicone strip on the shower floor, but it wasnât sealed down so it was pointless.
If youâre a light sleeper, itâs generally very quiet but I had an issue with neighbouring apartments with someone walking around with heels and shoes. They provide slippers! Please use them to not disturb others. Overall, a good stay and location.

Review: A Fantastic Stay at Caleway Hotel
Rating: âââââ
I recently spent one night in a Suite at the Caleway Hotel, and it was a truly wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and the quality of the accommodations was top-notch.
Highlights of the Stay
âą The Room: The Suite was exceptionalâspacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. Everything was in pristine condition.
âą The Service: The staff here are incredible. One gentleman in particular was extremely friendly and went out of his way to be helpful throughout my stay.
âą Breakfast: The breakfast was high quality with a great selection of fresh items. It was the perfect way to start the morning.
Exceptional Problem Solving
The only minor challenge I encountered was with parking. However, the service team handled it brilliantly. The staff member on duty did his absolute best to resolve the situation quickly and efficiently. I really appreciated the extra effort and the genuine care he showed in making sure I was taken care of.
Overall Verdict:
Despite the small parking hiccup, the outstanding service and beautiful rooms make this a top choice in Gaia. I highly recommend the Caleway Hotel to anyone visiting the area!

Our family reserved 3 rooms and arrived on a very early flight . Jose was kind enough to get 1 of our rooms ready within an hour so we could at least wash up, rest for a bit, and refresh before going out for the day. He continued to take care of us throughout our stay with anything we needed, while being extremely kind and personal. He is an excellent representative of the quality and care the hotel offers. We also liked the ambiance of the hotel. It was nicely lit and decorated in a fun, eclectic, and relaxing fashion. Our room rate included the breakfast which was an amazing spread with much variety, highly recommend. Location was central, easy walking distance everywhere. Small disappoin**ent was lack of gym. I know we walk around alot but it wouldâve nice to have the option as my husband and son like to exercise quite a bit. In addition, the TV lounge room which can be nice for teenagers/kids to use while waiting for our rooms to be ready was rather plain in terms of interior design, just gray concrete walls, as opposed to the interesting and colorful designs of the rest of the hotel. This is just an observation, I would definitely recommend this hotel and would come back again.

We booked a junior suite and asked to be put on a high floor. However, we got assigned the ground floor room facing the inner courtyard, making the room quite dark. And the lighting inside the room did not help either since most of the lights were directed light. We have asked for a change of room but was told its not available. The room is on the ground floor close to the lobby and the restaurant. When we asked to change the room, I have expressed my concern that it would be noisy and the front desk agent assured me that it would not be the case. Then on New Year's Eve, they have a party in the restaurant with very loud music. And the sound obviously leaked into our room, and the party lasted till the small hours.
The selection of food items at breakfast is quite limited. Its really quite mediocre compared with other hotels in this category. The only saving grace for this hotel is its location.

sunju.imThe suite was so nice, spacious with sunlight coming in. The owner was so lovely - we needed to check in early and he came to personally helped us out and gave us recommendation to a restaurant nearby (which turned out to have amazing food!!)
It was so nice of them to have our baggage carried upstairs while readying the room.
The bathroom was so clean, couch and bed were very comfortable.
Area is very trendy artsy area and felt quite local which I absolutely loved. I really wish I stayed longer (I kept saying Iâd totally come stay here for a whole month if I could). Honestly had such a great time and I will definitely come back if Iâm back in Porto (and recommend to all my friends in Lisbon to come stay here as well!)
