The environment and facilities can't compare to a typical hotel, but I still feel very lucky to have found this place. I booked another hotel in Los Angeles for a long weekend (not through ************), but when I arrived, they told me they were fully booked, so I had to find another place to stay. But the price was one thing, and the lack of rooms was another. Finally, I chose this place. From booking confirmation to check-in, it was less than half an hour, but they very quickly arranged a room for me, even asking what time I would arrive. When my car arrived, two people were waiting for me at the door, speaking Chinese to me and helping me with my luggage. After a whole day of booking trouble, I was almost in tears. The room felt like staying at a friend's house in another city, but the bed was comfortable, and the room had heating. They probably knew I'd been through a lot that day, because when I arrived they didn't tell me any rules, not even what time I had to leave the next day. They just let me rest in the room by myself, as if we'd known each other for ages 😂 The next day, it was almost noon, and of course, there were no calls urging me to check out. I didn't even see anyone else there. I just left the key in the door lock, pushed my luggage, and left. The owner seems like a very easygoing person (which I like). I'm also grateful to the owner for keeping me from being homeless during my long weekend of President's Day and Valentine's Day. I wish the owner great success in their business.

This hotel is under new management so we couldn't see many reviews before booking but it was a great experience! the self check-in was a breeze (we received all the info in an email) and our room was nice and clean. The room is cozy but normal size for SF and if we needed a little more space we just went down to the lobby lounge area. There was wifi in the room and in the lobby area. The kitchen was super convenient to make a quick breakfast. We didn't use the washer/dryers but if we stayed longer we probably would have. We could walk to Union Square and there is also a Trader Joe's a couple blocks away. It was a perfect place to stay for a couple of nights!

Location was great. Honestly I would not book again. Building 3 had a fly trap but it just attracted all the flies and anytime we’d open our door we’d get about 5 flies into our room. Cleanliness is the reason why I wouldn’t go back. I got bed bugs as well. I slept with my children in the room so specially that bed, but my husband slept on the pull out couch (super thin mattress and uncomfortable, which is expected unfortunately) but he didn’t get bed bug bites. The only good thing is that we were there for Fourth of July and being lakeside the view was amazing both morning and evening.

GGuest UserLocation, cleanliness & facility good/clean. Property description (at the time we booked in April 2025 for July 2025 stay) ”valley view.” No valley view that we could see from our room or anywhere on the property. There is no front desk or live check-in, you have to know to check a chalkboard on the side of what looks like the office. Communication w/the property is to be by text only. We reserved a cabin with 1 queen / 2 twin beds, what we got was 1 queen & a sofa bed (horrible sleep as expected which is why we wanted the two twins). We questioned the reservation (via text) and were told we got what was reserved. After sending a screenshot of our reservation the reply text was ”you can stop by the office if you want”). As we got out of the car the daughter was heard saying ”WELL, I guess we have to DEAL WITH THIS now.” It went downhill from there. We were told it was Trip.com fault (it was not, we confirmed w/Trip.com). Then the manager wanted to argue about why we wouldn't want to sleep on a sofa bed (does it matter? it's not what we reserved) and called one guest ”Hon” repeatedly / condescendingly until asked not to - the daughter jumped in at that point with an escalated attitude. The Manager insisted it was trip.com fault and then said ”we don't even offer twin beds.” So, room was misrepresented to begin with. UNFORTUNATELY, and they knew it, ALL rooms in the area were sold out & we were there for a scheduled event, we had no choice but to stay. AGAIN THIS IS NOT TRIP.COM FAULT, this is the property fault. BE AWARE that all the restaurants have posted hours on their website but may no be accurate, plan to check the location early as they post handwritten signs indicating the current day hours. On a weekend they were closed up before 5pm (some at 3pm), had to travel several towns over to eat. Good idea to bring dinner type food with you just in case. BASSETT'S a good place to eat, cafe w/good food/good prices, small store & gas pump. Dos Hermanos in Sierraville also good. Both several miles away from Yuba River Inn but worth the drive.

GGuest UserWe were very disappointed that our room was up a flight of stairs. My husband and I can’t carry luggage up a flight of stairs. Thankfully we were given a different room. The room was very clean and neat but small. No place to put luggage.  The light above the bed did not work. We only had two portable heaters. One of them worked only some of the time. Our room was cold. Parking was at an incline making it difficult to get to and from our car. There was a lovely lounge with nice furnishings including snacks but it was quite cold. No heating available. Because of our limited mobility we only stayed 2 of the four nights we paid for. We made arrangements at another hotel. Some information on line is not accurate. It is not ADA compatible. You can’t walk to Staters in 200 feet as stated. Our stay celebrating our 55th anniversary very was stressful. I am not one to give a negative review. I go out of my way to make sure good service is noted to the employee and that business. I would not stay there again.

KKeiKeiHoLimited free parking spaces, you can park early, visually detect about 10 parking spaces ~ lucky not to be smashed. The hotel is clean and feels safe. There is no refrigerator in the room but there is free ice. The downside is that there is no hair dryer (Anyway, I didn't find 😂)

TtrpcOne of the few hotels in Big Sur that allow you to book a one-night stay on a weekend so this is a huge plus. No reception nor staff on site when you check in - keys are left in a key box outside your assigned room (which you will be informed of a couple days before your arrival). If you need help during your stay, your only option is emailing them. Rooms are dated but clean. No dining options on site so either eat before you arrive, bring supplies, or be prepared to drive >20min for the nearest restaurant. Breakfast is left in a cabinet by the parking lot for self help. You get a slice of cake, boiled eggs, fruit and bottled juice. In short, you're paying for location.

GGuest UserWe arrived just after 5. No one was there eventhough Checkin is from 3-6 on the website. We located our keys under the mat. They sent an email but it was late in coming since we did not have service driving down from Napa. On the website it mentions a complimentary mini bar. There is none. There were a few things in our room that need to be fixed. Cute place but I guess I just expected a little more. Balance in bathroom falling down and light by tub falling out. Great spot for visiting in Calistoga. Not sure about trip.com and what’s offered being current either. Lesson learned.

BBianyinshiqingqulvxingWe arrived at 9:30 pm. The area around the hotel seemed very remote and desolate under the sea fog at night. However, when we arrived at the hotel, we immediately felt a different atmosphere. The staff at the front desk were warm and friendly. The people singing and dancing in the bar were laughing. Most of them were elders, very kind. The hotel room has a fireplace, Nordic style decoration and murals, which we like very much. The hygiene is very good. There are several gardens in the hotel, which are suitable for slow appreciation. The buffet breakfast can also be taken to the garden, which is very friendly for family travel.
