Tarifa Hostels

nice and very comfortable place in our favorite part of Spain. we arrived in the fall of 2023 for 3 days to relax and go kiting. The wind in the region was very strong but inside the hotel it was calm. There is an indoor heated pool. we relaxed a lot by the large pool and enjoyed the view. wonderful parking. stunning interior. I would like to come back again as soon as possible. There are boat shops and services around. excellent concierge service. breakfasts and dinners.

We spent five nights here and were really impressed with the staff as nothing was too much trouble. They were always attentive, polite and helpful at all times. The rooms and public areas are really clean, spacious and well-appointed and the bed comfortable. We had a room which looked in on the courtyard which meant it was cooler and considering the days were warm in June, was a welcome relief. Breakfast is really good and probably one of the best buffet choices I’ve seen in a while and tasty. Plenty of space for guests so never had a problem getting a table when we came down. The location is excellent – literally 10 minutes tops from the small and beautiful town and less from the marina where you can get a high speed crossing to Tangier. The restaurants and bars in town were really good value so we ventured out each night to eat as it was great to soak up the atmosphere. We had a hire car and there is a fee for each day of your stay. The car park is a little tight when manoeuvring the levels so be aware if you have a large vehicle. The rooftop pool was a really nice addition and had great views. The only issue being a lot of people wanted to use it and space is limited but if can get a bed, it’s a great space to soak up the sun and have a drink. We were able to check out and pay the night before as we had to leave at 6am which was no problem at all. The hotel even gave up a packed breakfast to take with us which was a really nice touch. If we find ourselves back in Tarifa, we would stay here again.

the Riad is a nicely decorated small inn in Tarifa....some of the staff are much easier to deal with than others....we rented a small room on the first floor....very quiet, except for people who live in the apartment above that room...the room is like sleeping in a Moroccan designed cave...not nearly enough lightning to see into your suitcase....the small window into the courtyard brings some light, if it's sunny...the room is quite small...the bathtub is at the foot of the bed...no curtain or glass door....water goes everywhere.. the sink is also in the main room...toilet cubicle was cleanish, but smelled like sewerage...there was a small courtyard to sit in which was nice, but water from plants all over the floor....first morning I did not see it and took a bad fall...2 days later, again another big puddle....the rooftop was CLOSED!!!! no kettle in room or a coffee and tea station for guests....I'm very surprised that it is ranked #1.....there is really no customer service at all...no one is there after 7pm and no one returns until 9am....room was cleanish....there was a large shelf next to stonewall that was constantly dirty...parking was 5 minutes away, but be prepared to lug it up a steep hill ...

The worst hotel experience in Spain, the front desk was no one at 2 pm, but it was not stated on Ctrip. We arrived at night and could not find this hotel. We were around for more than an hour and didn't drive into the main street next to the hotel. It was windy and rainy at night, and I couldn't go back to the same intersection with the navigation. Finally, Ctrip customer service was coordinated at 10 o'clock in the evening. They found the hotel and waited for nearly 40 minutes before they came to open the door. There were no prompt calls and text on the door of the hotel, it was too pit. It took more than two hours before and after entering the hotel. The room was very tidal, dripping down, the basics of sleep did not sleep well, said that there is a parking lot, ask them customer service, tell me that the city is very small, parking spaces are few, not good stop. The only advantage is that it is three hundred meters away from the ferry terminal. If you go to the ship to Tangier, Morocco, it is more convenient. I was okay and gtrained I don't complain . but good is not so great but acceptable
