The new ownership really shows, the staff are extremely friendly and hardworking, the steaks were cooked to perfection, the fish and chips looked divine ~ fab cocktails and wine. Really enjoyable evening, stopped going due to poor food and service, will definitely be back now

On arrival we had a warm welcome & shown to our room. The room was modern & clean. The continental breakfast was a great touch & enough for us. The fridge filled with extra milk juice & yoghurts was a great addition. Great location for exploring Lancaster. The only reason for the 4 stars is that it’s a tad noisy as it’s on a main road. This can’t be helped & i appreciate that. We were given a sleep well pack which had an eye mask & ear plugs. This did help as i’m a light sleeper. Great value hotel & would recommend
Lancaster House Hotel

Take advantage of the vacation to go back to school and stay at this hotel. Located on campus and very convenient. The environment is good, but the facilities are a bit older. The layout is exactly the same as the student dormitory I lived in before, and the rooms are not big. The staff's attitude is very good, but their professionalism needs to be improved. As a nostalgic graduate, I can accept anything. LOL...

Arrived here Friday 25th October. Lovely looking interior of Large Restaurant and bar. So we booked a table for 8pm. Lovely guy pointed us in the direction of our room and that’s where the luxury ended. A truly awful room which was dark and dowdy, with only a tiny window that was cracked, so we didn’t dare try and open it for air as we didn’t want to crack it further. Someone had been smoking in the room as a) there was a slight tobacco smell b) Filters were left on the Windowsill. There were no doors on the Wardrobe and it seemed that every surface was chipped and covered in splashes of paint! The small Bathroom was modern and clean but the shower cubicle itself was tiny. Flushing the toilet was a nightmare as the noise was horrific which we reported as soon as we went downstairs but nothing was done so we used the toilets in the bar area in the hope that we wouldn’t need to use during the night!! Unfortunately that didn’t work so think the toilet would have woken up the whole hotel. The Restaurant itself was lovely as was the food in fact it was excellent the whole experience was ruined by the state of this room and so on this ocassion we wouldn’t recommend to anyone. When we saw the cleaners in the morning we warned them about the soaking wet floor in the bathroom as the shower doors didn’t fit properly, they were very apologetic and lovely. I’m glad we were only booked in for the 1 night. It’s not worth the £81 (excluding breakfast) we could have stayed somewhere more light and airy for that and eaten out.
