Daosavanh Resort & Spa Hotel
3.2/57 Reviews
From the 4 star rating and pictures thought this looked nice, but soon realised the pictures were not a reflection on the actual location. Will start with the positives: Ok now onto the negatives; Room was in need of repair - tv not working. Shower decided how hot / cold it wants to be - from cold to scolding and back to cold. Road to hotel is a muddy track which is not lit and walking back from the night market led to a nice mud bath for my shoes : legs. The pool was closed and very dirty. The grounds overgrown and in need of serious attention. Apparently 4 star - maybe many years ago, luckily only had a night stay and so glad. Recommend avoiding.

I haven't been to this resort for a few years, but as I needed to get a visa for Thailand I chose to stay here again, even after reading a few negative reviews. Was pleasantly surprised with the room I received,$AU28.50 including breakfast.Fast WiFi throughout the resort and good quality meals, not expensive at all. Note that the resort is undergoing renovations,so there isn't much in the way of gaming if that's your thing, and there is only one dining room which is open all day, plus 24 hour room service. Now a lot of the staff don't speak or understand English, just understand that Laos is a developing 3rd world country, and they will always try to find other staff who can speak English.Be patient. All in all a nice relaxing stay!

The hotel is not bad, it took me a while to find a hotel. The breakfast is good, and there is also a drop-off service. The breakfast is Thai barbecue, drinks, rice, etc. It is a bit wasteful to eat it by one person. If it is suitable for two people, it is already the best hotel in this place!

This is a really nice place to stay if you are visiting Savannakhet. It is very 'low-key', located in a quiet neighbourhood and very good value. We stay one night recently. The rooms (there are three) are air conditioned, spacious, very clean and very comfortable. All of them are en-suite. Niko is a very good host. Highly recommended.
Pilgrim's Kitchen & Inn

The hotel is on the edge of the Mekong River, across the river from Laos and Thailand. There is a place to eat by the river. The room is very clean and cleaned in time. Some rooms have a weak WiFi signal and the dining is delicious. There is a park next to the hotel, suitable for walking and exercise, there are many places to eat nearby, the night market is also very close, many people who come here to go to the Thai embassy in Laos for long-term visas, can spend money to do it, much more convenient than domestic.

It was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom smells a bit like sewage. The shower works, but the drain doesn't drain well. They didn't have a hair dryer, but they found one and brought it to me. Booking a tuk tuk to the airport was also smooth.
