Auckland Airport Kiwi Motel

It's like remodeling an old building. The room size is definitely larger than other hotels because it is old I wrote well without complaint!
Ellerslie Palms Motel

You forget the exterior once you are enclosed in these super slick rooms. The boys loved having their cookies replenished every day (who doesn’t) and we adults enjoyed the privacy and independence permitted by staying here. Generous kitchenettes and Showers. comfortable beds, beautifully appointed units and super sized sky tv for the kids when you return exhausted from your day out. The rooms are immaculate (I would put this in capital letters if TripAdvisor permitted) and rooms are serviced daily (did not expect that either as many hotels are taking advantage of the pandemic to reduce service staff citing contact reduction) Highly recommend.
LyLo Auckland, an EVT Hotel
4.4/583 Reviews
Stayed at Lylo for 3-4 days and it’s probably the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. You check in on a device however there is a receptionist near in case you need anything. The design is amazing as well as the communal rooms/work spaces, it’s very new and renovated at the moment so it looks really great. There’s free wifi, a communal kitchen and bathrooms on each floor. There’s also a restaurant and bar, you get a card for one free drink too! I stayed in a private room and shared bathroom, the floor was super clean and quiet. The room itself was cute and tidy, we were missing a few things such as a rubbish bin (didn’t know the rooms came with one until we saw someone else on our floor with one). I think it would’ve of been nice if the room came with a television or a safe, however the room was great for the price so can’t complain too much :) location is central and easy access to everything within the city.
Auckland Airport Lodge
3.5/5107 Reviews
Booked a suite for 7 people, with a double bed and a single bed in the two rooms and a sofa bed in the other. The location of the hotel is close to the airport, there is an airport shuttle bus, there is McDonald's nearby, and it is convenient to go there when it is late.
Best Western Newmarket Inn & Suites

We were a group of 9 people (2 adults and 7 youth) and we had booked a 6 bedroom and a 4 bedroom apartment. Upon arriving at the Best Western we were advised that we had been given a free room upgrade from a 4 bedroom to a 7 bedroom suite. It was fantastic with enough room for everyone to join in together in one of the apartments for meals etc. In both apartments we had a main bedroom downstairs with kitchen, bathroom etc and then upstairs were the additional beds with own bathroom. Kitchens were big enough for us to cook and make lunches for our day trips. Everything was clean and tidy. The only unfortunate thing was that the 6 bedroom apartment had a lingering smell of fish emanating from the fridge but it was clean and we managed to ignore it.
Oakwood Manor Motor Lodge

Typical motel, the car can be parked at the door of the room. You can pick up or send the airport at a time. The hotel has Chinese staff during the day, and communication is more convenient. Hotel location is also better to find.
Haka House Auckland City
3.6/512 Reviews
The first floor smelled of paint as it was under renovation, but the guest room floors were clean and odorless. The bed was very clean and odorless, and I was able to have a personal area so I could rest in peace. Various areas were under renovation, so workers were coming and going during the day, but the rooms were very quiet. I can't speak English very well, but all the people at the reception were kind and responded politely and with translation help. I appreciate it very much. Unfortunately, there were no knives or scissors in the kitchen to cut the ingredients, making it difficult to prepare. However, I am generally satisfied. I will use it again when I come to Auckland!
Half Moon Bay Motel

Chinese-run hotel, the room is big enough, there is a restaurant supermarket on the side
YMCA Hostel

Write a review before the end of the first trip! The staff was really amazing, very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. The room was perfect and the price was right. Thank you very much for the friendly advice given by these cheerful staff. The hotel is very easy to find, although it was a bit noisy after returning at night, but that is exactly why I stayed here! Highly recommend and I am ready to stay here after my bus tour and before I leave New Zealand.
Surf 'N' Snow Backpackers

I will try to be as constructive as possible with my review, but before all that, I will say this was probably the worst hostel I have ever stayed in! If I could give it zero stars, I would. I have stayed in many hostels around the world, and I understand that not all hostels are perfect. You get what you pay for with hostels. But I've never stayed in a hostel so bad that I checked out 2 days early! The roof of the rooms was absolutely disgusting to look at. The ensuite bathroom was filthy as well. I arrived late in the evening on my 1st night, and there wasn't even toilet paper in the bathroom! I had 2 horrible nights of sleep on a horrible mattress, a wafer thin pillow, and a blanket that you wouldn't throw over the back of a couch! On my last night, I actually had to wear a hoodie to keep warm! And when you climbed into the top bunk, if there wasn't somebody lying in the bottom bunk, the bunk beds nearly leaned over! Not exactly safe! You couldn't relax on the bed either it was so uncomfortable! There is no breakfast provided! At the very least, the most basic of hostels will provide cereal and toast! Not here, unfortunately. There are only plugs on the bottom half of the rooms as well, which means you have to plug your devices into a plug on the floor in the middle of the room! In a room full of strangers! And while there are lockers available, they're light, so if someone wanted to pick it up and steal it, they could. A few tips for this hostel: 1: Comfortable mattresses, proper sheets and duvets, and proper pillows. 2: Deep clean the rooms every so often. 3: Charging points that are easily accessible to people on top and bottom bunks. 4: No lights out at 10 pm! While this didn't affect me as I stayed away from the hostel as long as possible until I wanted to go to bed, lights out at 10pm is a load of b******s! Remember, it's a room full of adults. 5: Clean the communal bathrooms and showers! They weren't exactly the cleanest places in the world. Do a deep clean on them every so often. And fix some of the doors on the communal toilets because some of them don't lock. 0/10 guys, unfortunately. This place really needs to get its act together.
