Elounda Gulf Villas by Sandglass

Enjoyed 8 nights here We had a 1 bed suite which was huge, with a lovely bathroom and separate lounge Food wise was excellent from the lovely breakfasts, daily lunches by the pool and 2 dinners in the evening Service was friendly and very helpful The villas are around an hour from airport (115 € exec transfer), then in taxis 10 mins from Elounda centre (10€), 15-20 from Plaka (15-€) and 20 mins from Ag Nic (16€) The pool was empty most days as people in pool villas stayed around the villas and others went to the beach club. On a couple of days it was a bit noisy, if family’s were playing in pool, but for the majority of time it was great !!! No probs we reserving beds due to amount of people using pool Beachclub ( located just past Domes hotel) - sea was lovely there on our visit Tip is to ask reception how many people have gone down their in the 15 min courtesy bus, as again it can be busy as only 2/3 working at bar restaurant and took us 1 hour to get lunch So in summary lovely villa, great food and we might be back in the future with our girls !!!

As soon as we arrived on the compatible Connextions retreat we were greeted by the manager, all staff were warm and welcoming. Our room was not ready for us to check into as we arrived at7am, so we were offered a temporary room where we could leave our luggage and shower before having breakfast. There was a large selection of choices and it was well presented and tasteful. We were then escorted to our suite by stuff members who insisted on carrying all of our luggage. The suite we occupied had a swimming pool both of which was clean, this had everything you would expect for a 5star hotel. The views all around the complex were breathtaking, The sunrise was picturesque along with the soothing Soundbath. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. The spa facilities are 10/10 also with various options of treatments. I would recommend the clay/ mud package. Overall I had an amazing experience, one I’ll never forget!! Thanks to compatible connections and Elounda bay palace This hotel is highly recommended for a relaxing vacation with friends, families or even a solo trip.

Returning here for the third time we were wondering if it could be as good as last time And it is better !! The hotel is beautiful the staff outstanding The setting is a real Shangri La - a heavenly place that is a gem hidden away in one of the most beautiful parts of the World On site the restaurant Samurai is fabulous the best food you could eat on the island and there are many good restaurants. The Cuban night and DJ on the beach all add a real holiday vibe It’s hard to describe anything like this hotel for its setting, service and added facilities such as boat hire and excellent restaurants. A must go to for anybody looking for a beautiful romantic holiday in an amazing setting
Phāea Blue Palace

My husband and I had an absolutely amazing stay at the Phae Blue Palace soon after it's re-opening as a luxury boutique hotel. We didn't know the previous version of this hotel to compare to but we loved the ”new” version, with all the thoughtful gestures towards sustainability and efforts to integrate with Cretan culture & foods, etc - whilst still maintaining the quality and personalised service you expect from a 5-star place. Yes, it's a smaller ”boutique” property and OK, it hasn't got 18 restaurants and 6 pools and golf course and helipad and watersports centre with giant slide - blah-blah-blah - but that doesn't mean that the experience is any less luxurious. If anything, the smaller size means you feel like the staff really treat you as individuals (even friends!) rather than just another dollar sign with a room number attached. The location is sublime with the views to Spinalonga Island; sunset dinners at the Blue Door Taverna on the beach are just magical and lots of local attractions are within easy driving or boating distance. You can also do daytrips to several other parts of Crete easily. We made a daytrip to the Omalos Plateau & Diktamos (Zeus) cave one day and climbed to the top of the mountains (high enough that everything was covered in a freezing mist!) and were back in time for a lovely dinner in the main restaurant. (Yes, there were roadworks/building work for the sister site going on while we were there but it honestly wasn't that much of a hassle. You just had to look more than once each way before driving out of the hotel property onto the road and we weren't disturbed by the noise at all.) The thing that really set the Phae Blue Palace apart for us was the staff, who were all wonderful. They really embodied the Greek value of ”philoxenia” - all the smiles felt genuine and they really seemed delighted to help you enjoy Crete as much as possible. In particular, I need to mention Lina Stratsiou (Front Office Manager) who was INCREDIBLE - even months before we arrived in Crete, the level of effort & attention to detail she showed as we corresponded via email was just unbelievable. She was so patient with my endless questions and itinerary changes, and her messages felt heartfelt and genuine, not just slick, stock responses. When we finally arrived at the hotel, we received such a warm personal welcome from her - it felt like meeting a lovely penpal at last or something! But all the staff were amazing. We have stayed in a lot of luxury hotels in many countries and while they all have perfectly trained staff, this is one of the few places where it felt authentic and not sycophantic. Unfortunately, I can't remember the names of all the lovely people who made us feel so welcome but in addition to Lina, I'd like to say a special thank you to Stavroula, Maria & her team in the main restarant Anthos and the charming Haris (manager of the Blue Door Taverna), who took great pride in providing top service but in a way that felt (a

Wonderful stay! Not far from the city center, the pools are nice and the staffs are friendly. Breakfast was so good and they even have live musician playing for dinner. Amazing, would definitely recommend to others! Bus station is just ten minutes away from the hotel. Very easy to get here from Agios Nikolaos station. The bus costs only 7.8€ from Héraklion city. Loved every single second of my stay!

Amazing hotel, everything you could wish for from a five star hotel. Spotless and the staff were fantastic and very professional. My only criticism is that after a 7 hour journey we sat waiting for someone to come and check us in and a waitress bought us a bottle of water. It wasn't until we paid the room bill on departure that we realized we had been charged €5 for it. To me that should have been complimentary and also the do not disturb signs fall off the handles. Perhaps a sliding sign on the door might be a better option.Other than this it was a lovely place to stay.
